An Ultimate Betrayal-Ch 22
A few days later Derek and the team returned to California from their case, Derek sighed happily as he pulled her into his arms and pressed his lips against hers in a passionate kiss.
When they pulled apart he said, "it's so good to be home sweetness, I didn't think we were ever going to be able to catch him". Penelope laid her head on his chest and said, "I've missed you hotstuff, I've missed all of my family while you were gone".
Derek grinned and said, "so what have you been doing to occupy your time while I've been away"?, Penelope said, "well the wedding plans are all done and Payton, Paul and Patrick have been working on getting things finished in the backyard".
He smiled and said, "tomorrow is the big day, are you ready to become Mrs. Derek Morgan"?, she looked up at him and said, "with every fiber of my being sugar, with every fiber of my being" and he gave her his famous Derek Morgan smile before claiming her lips with his again.
As they pulled apart she rested her forehead against his and said, "their is something that I need to talk to you about". He said, "sounds serious, what's up goddess"?, she bit down on her bottom lip and he said, "well that's not good".
She said, "huh, what's not good"?, Derek said, "well whatever it is that you need to talk to me about isn't good because you're biting on your bottom lip". Penelope said, "so that's my tell, is it"?, he kissed her lips and said, "it is sweetness, it's always been your tell".
Penelope said, "their is something that I would like to do before we get married tomorrow but I'm afraid that you'll get mad". Derek said, "I won't get mad baby, please tell me what you want to talk to me about".
She blew out a deep breath and said, "IWANTTOGOSEEZACH", Derek said, "what did you just say, you said it so fast that I couldn't catch all of that". She looked up at him and said, "I want to go see Zach".
Derek shook his head and said, "ohhhhh but no, their is no way that you're going to go see that sick freak". She ran her hand up and down his chest and said, "please handsome, going to see Zach is the only way that I can get closure".
He said, "but" and she put her finger over his lips and said, "and I would like you to go with me, I know that with you by my side their isn't anything that I can't do", he gently kissed her lips and said, "alright sweetness, let's go".
Hotch and the others were standing by the door listening to their conversation and Emily grinned and said, "you are so whipped Derek Morgan". He said, "heyyyyyyy I am not".
Reid and Dave started laughing and Dave said, "oh yeah kid, you're definitely whipped" causing everybody to laugh. Derek intertwined fingers with her and said, "let's get this over with" and the others watched as Derek and Penelope walked across the room and out the front door.
JJ looked at Reid and said, "do you think this is a good idea"?, Reid nodded his head and said, "I do, she needs closure and the only way she'd going to get it is to face Zach but with Derek by her side they are going to be just fine".
JJ snuggled into her husbands side and said, "we need to be heading to the airport, we need to get Jack and Henry". Reid glanced down at his watch and said, "we need to hurry or we'll be late".
Emily and Hotch nodded their heads in agreement as they along with JJ and Reid stepped out onto the front porch and headed down the path that led to their cars.
