An Ultimate Betrayal-Ch 23
Zach sighed as he looked around the interrogation room, he had a visitor, him, he had a visitor but who, his lawyer maybe. He looked up as the door opened and he smiled as Penelope stepped inside.
His smile fell as he saw Derek walking in right behind her, they walked over to the table and pulled out their chairs and sat down. Zach said, "hello beautiful, how are you feeling"?, Penelope intertwined fingers with Derek and then turned her attention back to Zach.
She said, "I'm good, no better than good, I'm great, I'm happy", she glanced at Derek and said, "we're happy". Zach said, "well excuse me if I'm not jumping for joy that you're marrying another man".
He then sat back against the chair and said, "why did you want to see me today Penelope, what is this visit about"?, she blew out a deep breath and said, "closure, it's about closure Zach".
Zach said, "closure, how can I help you with that"?, Penelope said, "I want to know why you worked with my brother to do what you did to me". He grinned and said, "that's easy, you belong with me".
Penelope shook her head and said, "that's where you're wrong, I'm where I belong, I'm with the love of my life, I'm with the man I'm going to spend the rest of my life with, Derek Morgan".
Derek grinned and then brought her hand to his lips and kissed it and Zach said, "gag me, please stop with all of this sweetness I'm getting cavities". Penelope said, "if I'm going to move on with my life I have to have closure and coming here today is doing just that".
Zach said, "how's that"?, Penelope said, "I once cared a lot about you Zach but I love Derek, he is the best thing that's ever happened to me, he is the other part of my heart and tomorrow he becomes my husband".
Derek gently squeezed her hand in support as Zach said, "well if closure is what you needed I'm glad that we're done". Penelope looked at him as he said, "I'm glad we're done because looking at you with this man whore makes me sick, sick at my stomach".
Penelope said, "you listen to me and you listen good because this is the last time that I'm ever gonna see or speak to you". Zach leaned forward and listened as she said, "you were my past but Derek is my present and my future and from this day forward he gets my everything, every fiber of my being is in love with him and belongs with and to him".
Zach said, "pleaseeeeeeee, okay, fine, you've said your peace now go, go, leave, be happy with your man whore, you two belong together, the slut and the man whore" and Derek said, "you shut your mouth, you are not ever allowed to talk about her like that, not now, not ever".
Zach said, "ohhhh touchy are we"?, Derek started to stand up but Penelope said, "angel fish he isn't worth it, don't worry about him, he no longer has a hold on my life, on our lives".
Derek grinned and said, "you are so right sweetness", Zach rolled his eyes and said, "well then get going, get out of here and leave me along". Penelope slid her hand in Dereks and said, "consider it done".
As they walked to the door Penelope glanced over her shoulder and said, "after I walk out of this room I will never think about you again". Zach said, "good luck with that Penelope" and as the door shut he closed his eyes and said, "I'll always love you, always".
Out in the hall Derek pulled her into his arms and kissed her lips gently and said, "you okay"?, her free hand slid to her stomach and she looked up at him and said, "we're good, no we're great".
Derek winked at her and said, "let's head home, we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow", she sighed happily and said, "that we do my love, that we do". As they walked out of the police station they sighed happily knowing that their lives were finally falling into place.
