An Ultimate Betrayal-Ch 30
Things were getting busier by the minute at casa Morgan as the impending birth of their first child was coming closer and closer to reality. Derek intertwined fingers with his wife and said, "I love you so much" causing her to smile lovingly at him.
Downstairs the family was waiting patiently for news of the addition of their newest member, everybody was so excited and happy for Derek and Penelope. Upstairs Penelope was currently resting between contractions, she was now around 9 centimeters dilated so it wasn't going to be much longer before they would be welcoming their first child.
Fran walked back over to the bed and said, "how are you holding up sweetheart"?, Penelope looked up at her and said, "I'm exhausted already but I can't wait to hold my baby". Fran said, "their is nothing like holding your child in your arms for the first time".
Derek and Penelope listened as she said, "when I held Derek in my arms for the first time I could see everything he was and everything he would be". Penelope smiled and said, "you have three amazing children and they are so lucky to have you as their mom".
Fran said, "I'm the lucky one here Penelope, God has given me a wonderful life, first he blessed me with my first husband, the love of my life Hank". Derek couldn't help but smile as he listened to his mom as she continued to talk about the love she had for his father.
Penelope listened as Fran said, "then he blessed me with three of the most amazing children in the world and now I have a daughter-in- law and I'm about to be a grandmother". Derek said, "you've always talked about wanting to be a grandma and now your first grandchild is on its way".
Fran laughed and said, "I didn't think the two of you were ever gonna pull your heads out of your butts and get together, I'm not getting any younger ya know". Derek and Penelope both laughed and looked at Fran but the laughter stopped when another contraction rocked Penelopes tired body.
Fran quickly checked and said, "alright honey are you ready, I can see my grandbaby's head and he or she is ready to come meet you". Penelope nodded her head and said, "I'm ready, I'm sooooooooooo ready" as another contraction hit.
Derek gently squeezed her hand and said, "you are doing so good sweetness, so good" and she looked at him and said, "I'm so glad that you are here with me". He kissed her lips gently and said, "their is no other place I'd rather be than here with the love of my life as she gives birth to our first child".
Penelope said, "here comes another contractionnnnnnnnn" as it hit hard and Fran said, "alright Penelope pushhhhh". Penelope started pushing and she pushed and pushed until Fran told her to rest and she collapsed back against the pillows.
A few contractions later Fran said, "alright honey, on the next contraction the baby will be here, are you ready"?, she nodded her head and said, "I'm ready". As the contraction hit Fran said, "pushhhhh" and she pushed until the cries of baby Morgan filled the air.
As Fran cut the cord the sound of an ambulance in the background could be heard as it got closer and closer to the Morgan home. Penelope said, "the baby, how's the baby"?, Fran smiled proudly as she wiped the baby off and wrapped it in a blanked and handed it to Penelope.
Fran said, "congratulations, it's a boy", tears streamed down both Derek and Penelopes faces as they looked at each other and then down at their son. Derek said, "welcome to our family little one, welcome to our family as the family all came rushing into the room to catch a glimpse of their newest member.
It was only a matter of a few minutes before the medics made their way inside and got both Penelope and her son ready for transport to the hospital. Fran kissed Penelope on the cheek and then kissed her grandson on the top of the head and said, "welcome to the family my little handsome grandson",
She then hugged her son and said, "I'm so happy for you son, for you and your bride, congratulations on the birth of your first child". Derek said, "thank you so much momma", Fran wiped away the tears that were streaming down her cheeks and said, "any time baby boy, any time, now go with your wife and son and we'll be there soon".
Everybody then watched as Penelope, Derek and baby boy Morgan were loaded into the ambulance so they could head to the hospital.
