Eridan was still a little shocked by the physical contact but something in him really thought it meant a little more than confirming Karkat's sexuality. Something a little deeper. Like no one had even thought about doing such a thing. The hug felt like it lasted an eternity but it couldn't be more than a minute before the two were interrupted. There was a knock at the door frame then a voice. Something akin to nails on a chalkboard for Eridan. His shoulders tense and he pulled back from Karkat as soon as the words hit his ears.
"Am I interrupting something? Because I kinda need the bathroom." Cronus was right there leaning up against the door frame. Much to Eridan's dismay. Him and his dad should have been out for the rest of the day. Maybe Cronus just bailed on their father after getting bored with the errands. It wouldn't have been the first time he had done that either. Eridan proceeded to give a dramatized eye roll before standing fully. Giving the older Ampora full view of just who he was hugging. He seemed familiar. Definitely a Vantas from the looks of him.
"Wwe're busy Cro. Just givve us a feww more minutes." Eridan huffed out as he spoke. Really not wanting to deal with him after such a nice little hug that had him a bit confused in his own feelings and intentions. But would his brother ever listen to a word he said? Hell fucking no he wasn't going to. The taller older man wandered his way into the bathroom with the other two. Making the slightly crowded room that much more suffocating. There was an aggravated stare from both Eridan and the Vantas alike. Such a nice moment, completely ruined. This jackass then proceeds to sneak his way closer to the small Vantas, giving the cheekest little grin.
"Ya look so much like yer brother, maybe a little bit more pale though." Cronus said with an almost dreamy sigh. To which the Vantas couldn't help but scoff in response. His arms crossed tight over his chest as he stepped up in an almost challenging type manner. Sure Kankri was confrontational at times when they did hang out. But this was a whole other feal. Cronus leaned back a bit to the challenge, this little shit looked more willing to screech and then deck him in the face over just lecture him. Definitely not Kankri.
"Don't fucking compair me to my brother, you stink of desperation and hair gel." He hissed to him and Cronus was quick to put his hands up in his own defense. Giving a bit of an unsure, but forced grin on his features. "I also remember your dumbass when Kankri came home and dramatically announced he had gained a new stalker. Don't think I am going to just put up with any sort of fuckery you pulled with him. I am nowhere near as patient. I can and will shove my foot so far up your ass you will know exactly what brand of gum I stepped on last week. Besides I am already dating one Ampora, I don't need another." All his words seemed to burn, frustration in his threat like no other. Eridan was pretty impressed how quickly that completely shook off his notoriously persistent brother. Eridan however went frigid at the sudden reveal. Perhaps Karkat thought it was the only way to get out of the flirting, he wasn't wrong mind you but still.
"Alright alright, a simple no wvould havwe wvorked. God Eri, yer newv boyfriend is fuckin' mean." He said as he slightly pointed to Karkat, with a pout that could give a puppy dog shame. As if Karkat had actually physically hit him. Yet Karkat didn't even need to lift a finger, it was a little impressive. Eridan just gave a little huff of laughter, still a bit shocked that Karkat had even said that. Since Eridan's face was already getting the slightest bit pink. Luckily it seems like it would be brushed off.. Eridan only gave a cheeky little smile before both him and Karkat walked past the elder Ampora and headed back to Eridan's room. After shutting the door Eridan sighed and slumped his shoulders.
"Sorry about him Kar. He ain't the best wwith people, hell I don't think he wwill evver groww out of the hopeless flirt bullshit. And that wwas a real quick savve back there." Eridan spoke as Karkat settled back on his bed once more, still in that oversized shirt and with his hair still wet with dye. At least they had 45 more minutes of peace before they needed to rinse it all out.
"Hell if him assuming I'm your boyfriend gets him off my ass I'm not going to actually complain. Maybe we could play it up to fuck with him a bit, make sure he knows damn well I'm not interested. I just remember getting so pissed when Kankri would come home ranting about some jackass that couldn't take a hint and never took no for an answer." He grumbled more as he settled back on the palms of his hands on that soft bedding. He seemed to be very protective of his older brother. It was sweet to say the least. Those false grey eyes still loomed over Eridan and he felt like he was being studied for a reaction.
"If you wwant to do that wwhile you are here I'm not gonna say no."Eridan shrugged lightly. "Been a while since I've been in a 'relationship'." Well that was a bit easier than Eridan had expected. He honestly thought if he proposed a friends-with-benefits or anything like that he would get instantly rejected. While this was a mock sort of dating it was still something. But if that was the case why did he feel so nervous? Hey did he feel hopeful and a little sick to his stomach? That hug had really messed him up in ways he hadn't even quite realized. Then Karkat hit him with the lightest smile, those pale pink lips twitched up slightly as he nodded.
"We can even count this as our first date if you want." Karkat suddenly offered oh so casually as he picked up a book and started to grab his notebook again. Eridan had almost completely forgotten why they were here. Why Karkat was here. He scrambled to grab his own notes and also some blank flash cards before sitting on the bed with Karkat. They were shoulder to shoulder as Karkat started to explain what he struggled with and Eridan suggested ways to remember the topic. It was peaceful, and so casual.
