*Thank-you for the reviews on the last chapter they were greatly appreciated. Thank-you all so much*
Friday morning, Dean and I walk into the OB/GYN office that I have visited many times, we went to the same OB for Oliver, Bennett and Ace so it only makes sense to use the same OB for this baby too. "It's like old times," says Jon as we walk in the doors. "I've missed this place."
"You're so weird," I say with a smile as I walk up to the receptionist. I give her my information and sign in before we sit down in the waiting room.
"You know it's like old times," he says taking my hand into his. "We're going to be parents again, I don't know if I am ready to have a baby again. Things are definitely different now."
"Well, Ace is only 2 years old so it wasn't that long ago that we had a newborn but I get what you're saying, everything is different now than it was when Natalia was a baby, you know we have to tell the kids about it, how do you think they are going to react?"
"I don't know, I think that Natalia is going to be shocked, I think that Oliver is going to be okay with it, I think that Bennett is so easy going that it won't matter to him and we already know that Ace knows but he's not really sure what's happening or what it means when you say there's a baby inside your tummy. I think he is the one that's going to have a reaction to the baby in a negative way because we do baby Ace, he comes into our room and sleeps with us almost every night, you still breast feed him and he is still very attached to you, are you going to breast feed Ace and the baby?"
"I don't know, I always said I would let Ace self wean but I know that being pregnant can change my breast milk taste and can change the taste so that might make him want to self-wean but we really do need to try to get him to sleep in his own bed all night long."
"I agree," he says. "We'll work on that, I think the biggest kick back we are going to get is moving to Florida, I don't think that Natalia is going to be happy about that, I mean she is going into her senior year and we are asking her to relocate to a new state her senior year, she's going to be pissed."
"Probably," I agree with him, he signed his contract with AEW a few days ago after we talked about it, so it is a done deal, we know it's the best decision for our family as far as financially goes. Also being in AEW gives Jon the freedom and ability to be the wrestler he has always wanted to be. He quickly started falling out of love with wrestling when WWE started screwing around with him and his career, when he couldn't be who he wanted to be and didn't have the freedom for his character. It was not what he wanted, so when he made the decision to leave WWE I did not feel surprise or shock, it was a long time coming.
The nurse calls us back to the examine room. Dean and I stand up and make our way to the back, they have me step up on the scale before giving me a cup to pee in. I go into the bathroom and pee in the cup before they guide us to a room. "So what brings you in today?" she asks before she takes my blood pressure.
"I am pretty sure I am pregnant, I took a pregnancy test and it came back positive and I have had all the symptoms of pregnancy."
"Okay," she says, "so what are the symptoms you are experiencing?"
"Nausea, throwing up, tiredness, breast tenderness," I explain.
"Okay, and when was the first day of your last period?"
"April 10," I answer.
"And was it a regular period?"
"Yes," I say, "it was a regular period."
"Okay," she says, "your blood pressure is looking good, and I am going to have the doctor test your urine, Dr. Thomas will be in shortly."
"Thank-you," I say with a smile.
A few minutes later Dr. Thomas walks into the room after knocking. "Hello, Ana and Dean, I'm surprised to see you two back again, I could have sworn that you said Ace was going to be the last."
"Well, that was the plan," I say, "but we decided that we would try for one more and here we are."
"Well, I would say that your try was very successful," he says. "Because after testing your urine, congratulations, you and Dean are pregnant again."
"Thank-you," I say with a smile.
"Thank-you," says Jon before kissing my cheek softly, "congratulations."
"Congratulations to you too, Daddy," I say with a smile, "so knowing that I am pregnant should I stop breastfeeding my 2 year old or will it be okay to continue breast feeding?"
"I don't see an issue in breastfeeding while pregnant but I will say that being pregnant can mess with your milk supply and it can cause it to taste funny, so you may notice your son may start to rebel, and self-wean, I wouldn't be too concerned if he does. As long as you continue to feed him a nutritious diet where he can get the nutrients his body needs he will be okay."
"All right," I say, "so do we have a due date?"
"Well, based on your last period I would say you're about 7 weeks pregnant and I would say that your due date is probably sometime in January, we don't know an accurate due date until we do the internal ultrasound which we usually do at 8 weeks."
"Okay," I say, "so we are moving to Florida, I don't know when but probably some time over the summer but we will be moving to Florida it makes me sad because you have always been the doctor we came to for our babies but do you know of any good OB/GYN's in the Jacksonville area?"
"I will look into it and at your next appointment I can give you a list."
"Thank-you," I say with a smile.
"You're welcome, so I know that you already know of the do's and don'ts of pregnancy, do you have any questions or concerns?"
"Not really," I say.
"All right, so we are going to go ahead and do an ultrasound just to check on the baby, to make sure the baby is doing all right and to print you off some pictures."
"That's wonderful," I say with a smile.
Dr. Thomas preps the ultrasound machine, and prepares me for my ultrasound by lifting my shirt up to the end of my bra. Jon takes my hand as Dr. Thomas turns on the machine, he puts some gel on my stomach and it's cold like usual but I know that it will get warmer when he takes the doppler over it. "All right," he says, "let's check up on Baby Ambrose," he takes the doppler over my stomach, pressing slightly as he watches the screen, "well, there we go," he says, "and oh, wow," he says.
"Oh wow, is right," I say looking at what he's looking at on the screen.
"Is that what I think it is?" asks Jon, "are there two babies, or does our baby have two heads?" he asks.
"There are definitely two babies," says Dr. Thomas, "It looks like you are having twins."
"Well, that's unexpected," says Jon, "are you sure our baby doesn't have two heads."
"I am 100 % sure that you are having twins," he says, "your baby does not have two heads, there are two little bodies in there, do you see them? And there are two little heartbeats flickering, do you see the two heartbeats?" he asks.
"What are the odds," I say in a little bit of shock but not too much shock knowing twins do run in my family. We could have had twins any time during one of our pregnancies, we always knew that but at 34 I did not expect to be pregnant with twins.
"Odds are pretty good when twins run in your family," says Dr. Thomas, "and we already know twins run in your family, so congratulations, you two are having two healthy babies."
"Well, I wasn't expecting that," says Jon and I can tell he's shocked with the news.
"You okay, Baby?" I ask him.
"Just letting it sink in, Ana, I was shocked with just one, finding out there's two in there is even more shocking, I'll be okay, just need to let it sink in."
"I know it's shocking," I say, "but not that shocking, we always knew it was a possibility, this is definitely an adventure, we're going from 4 kids to 6 technically 7 if we also adopt Alexander."
"We've got this," he says squeezing my hand, "we got this."
"We always do," I agree with him, "and they are identical correct?" I ask Dr. Thomas.
"Yes, they are in the same sac which means they are identical twins," he explains. "And looking at the size of them it looks like we are pretty accurate with 7 weeks so I want to get you in here for an internal ultrasound next week so that we can determine an accurate due date for the babies."
"Sounds good," I say with a smile.
LATER THAT NIGHT:
After the events of the day, Jon and I decided to just order out for dinner, have a nice family dinner before having a family meeting to tell the kids about moving to Florida, telling them about the babies and to tell them about fostering Alexander. It's probably a lot at one time but it's better to tell it all now than to wait till later. We are gathered in the living room after dinner, Ace is sitting on my lap, Alexander and Natalia are sitting next to each other on the couch, Oliver is sitting on the chair, while Bennett is sitting with Jon next to me on the love seat. "This must be a pretty serious meeting," says Natalia, "we haven't had a meeting for a long time, not since Dad told us that he was leaving WWE and when you said you were going to be a stay at home mom."
"Well, there are some things your mom and I want to talk to you about," says Jon, "some things that you may be happy about, some things you may not be happy about but we are going to work through this together."
"Is someone sick?" asks Natalia.
"No, no one is sick," I say.
"Did someone die?" asks Oliver.
"No, no one died," says Jon. "But some things are going to change a little bit."
"I knew this wasn't going to be a good meeting," says Natalia, "what are you going to tell us, just rip the band aide off now."
"Well," says Jon, "you know how I left WWE?"
"Yes," says Natalia, "we remember."
"Well, an owner from another wrestling promotion came up to me and offered me a contract to be part of AEW. AEW is a lot different than WWE, and they are offering a lot of money, so I decided that I was going to sign the contract and take the offer to join the wrestling promotion."
"Okay," says Natalia, "so you're going back out on the road."
"Technically yes and technically no," he explains, "AEW is housed in Jacksonville, Florida, so instead of separating our family and me going to Florida while you and your mom stay here we are all moving to Florida," he says just ripping the band aide right off.
"WE ARE MOVING?" asks Natalia and I see her father's temper rising in her.
"Relax," says Jon, "tell me how you feel about it."
"How do you think I am feeling about?" asks Natalia.
"I'm not sure, that's why I asked you," says Jon.
"You're asking me to relocate and change my whole life before my senior year of high school, you want me to start brand new in a new state and a new school. That's not fair, it's just a year. Why can't you do what you did for 10 years of my life, you live in Florida and the rest of us live here in Connecticut for a year, you're asking me to leave all my friends it's not fair."
"I know it's not fair," says Jon, "but this is the best thing for our family. Your mom and I don't want to live apart. We did it for 10 years and it was rough on all of us, this is a decision we made, I'm sorry that you have to relocate for senior year but this is what needs to be done."
"I think it's selfish," says Natalia, "you didn't care when you missed 10 years of my life and only saw me a few times a month but now you care and don't want to be apart."
"I understand your frustration, Natalia, I really do understand it, this is an opportunity that I didn't expect to come along, I was on the fence about it, your mom and I talked about it, we got some news recently that makes it even more reasonable for this decision."
"Let me guess, you're having a baby," she says, "that's the news you got."
"Baby in mommy tummy," says Ace.
"Thank-you, Ace," I say with a smile, "well, Natalia, Ace is right I do have a baby in my tummy, not just one baby but 2 babies in my tummy."
"I'm 17 not 2," says Natalia, "I knew it, I knew it."
"I know you're upset, Natalia and I am sorry. I wasn't expecting this news either as far as moving, we have been in Connecticut for years now and I love it here but I don't want to be apart from your dad again, that was a tough time for us. We are a family, we need to be a family and live together. Your dad and I should have handled life differently when you were 1, but we both had our own dreams, we both had opportunities at our feet, I was on a scholarship to go to college, your dad had his wrestling thing. We didn't want to give up our opportunities, if we had we wouldn't be where we are today. We needed to do what we could do to give you and your brothers the best lives that we could. I know this isn't want you expected for senior year and I am sorry, Natalia, but this is what we are going to do."
"I know," she says her anger sliding away, "I just don't like it."
"I know and I probably wouldn't like it either but sometimes life throws us curve balls and we just need to go with the flow of things, this might turn out to be something that you really like, you may like Florida better than Connecticut and you'll make new friends."
"I know," she says, "but I still don't like it."
"I understand."
"So can we talk about the twins?" asks Oliver, "you're having twins?"
"We are," I say with a smile, "we are having twins sometime in January."
"That's so awesome!" says Oliver.
"Did dad fall over in shock?" asks Natalia.
"No," I say with a smile, "he handled it very well, surprisingly well."
"Nothing to fall over," says Jon.
"I hope we get sisters!" says Oliver.
"Me too," says Natalia, "I hope for sisters and when I come back from college I can show them how to do makeup and do their hair."
"Well, we will wait on the makeup," says Jon making me smile.
"We need to wait to find out if they are girls or boys but knowing your dad, they are probably boys."
"Ew, mom," says Natalia, "that's gross."
"But it is true, you're the only girl out of 4 kids," I say.
"Well, this conversation took a turn," says Alexander, "are you sure you want me to be here, I can go pack since you guys are moving to Florida I am probably going to need to find a place to stay."
"Actually," says Jon. "that's something else we wanted to talk to everyone about. Alexander, you have been a great help since you moved in here and you are becoming part of our family. Ana and I were wondering if you would be okay if we became your foster parents, so that we can get custody of you so we can get you into school. Would you be okay with that?"
"You really don't have to do that," he says, "I'm fine going to live in a shelter."
"No, we are not going to let you go to a shelter," I say, "we want you to move to Florida with us."
"What about the gym, and what about my training?" he asks.
"Well," says Jon, "Roman and I are going to or at least I am going to open up a gym in Jacksonville just like the one here. Hopefully we can get the guys to go to Florida and I am hoping you would continue your training in Florida."
"I don't want to be a burden," says Alexander.
"You're not a burden," I say, "would you come to Florida with us?"
"I think you should come to Florida with us," says Natalia.
"Me too," says Oliver.
"I want you to come to Florida too," says Bennett shocking both Jon and I as we look at him. He doesn't talk much to people he doesn't know but the fact he's talking to Alexander is a good sign.
"Come us," says Ace making me smile.
"I think our kids have spoken," says Jon, "Will you come to Florida with us and let us foster you?"
"I don't even know what to say," says Alexander. "If it's not too much trouble I would love to go to Florida with you, train, go to school and be a foster kid. Thank-you," he says.
"You're welcome," I say with a smile.
"So is this family meeting over or no?" asks Natalia.
"Just one more thing," I say.
"One more thing?" asks Jon with shock.
"Yes, one more thing, I think that before we go to Florida that we should take a family trip to Ohio to our family cabin on the lake, what do you think?"
"YES!" says Oliver, "I love the lake house!"
"I am all about the lake house," says Natalia and Bennett nods his head. "Alexander, you will LOVE the lake house, it is so much fun."
"Okay," he says, "am I invited?"
"Of course," I say, "you're part of the family, of course you are invited to the lake house."
"Thank-you," he says.
"You're welcome," I say.
"Meeting adjourned," says Jon.
"Thank God," says Natalia as she is the first to get up and leave the living room. Oliver and Bennett follow behind her with Alexander as he goes to his room.
"Well, that went spectacular," says Jon. "I always forget that Natalia has my temper."
"She definitely does, that's how I know how to de-escalate her," I say, "I spent over 17 years with you, I have learned to tame your moods."
"Yes you have," he says with a smile, "and Mr. Ace, it's time for you to go to bed, and you're going to sleep in your own big boy bed ALL night, no more coming to Mommy's and Daddy's room to sleep."
"No bed," he protests.
"Yes bed," says Jon, "let's go. Mommy and Daddy are going to put you to bed."
"Yes, let's go to bed, Ace," I say as I stand up holding him in my arms.
"I'll take him," says Jon, "you shouldn't be holding him right now."
"Jon, I'm fine," I say, "but if you want to carry him upstairs you can."
"I do," he says as Ace reaches for Jon. Jon takes him in his arms and we carry him upstairs to his bedroom.
We get Ace ready for bed by dressing him in his Paw Patrol pajamas, have him brush his teeth, after putting a pull up on him so if he has an accident it is okay. Ace climbs into his Paw Patrol themed bed and we cover him up with his blanket before Jon sits and reads him a bedtime story. "All right, Ace, it's bedtime," he says. "Goodnight, Buddy."
"Goodnight, Daddy," he says as Jon gives him a kiss on his cheek.
"Goodnight, Ace," I say with a smile before kissing his forehead.
"Goodnight, Mommy," he says.
"And remember you're going to be a big boy and stay in your bed all night long, okay?"
"No, Daddy," he says making me smile.
"Goodnight," I say to him before taking Jon out of the room. "You already know he's not going to stay."
"I hope he does, but we'll have to take him back to his room every time he comes into our room. We need to break this habit now, and besides I like sharing the bed with just my wife."
"I know you do," I say with a smile, "I like sharing a bed with just my husband. Let's get the other kids to bed and then let's go to bed."
"I'm not tired," he says.
"I'm not either," I smile.
"Oh, okay," he says with a smile.
Once we get Oliver and Bennett into bed, we stop to make sure that Ace is sound asleep in his bed. We spend a good bit of the night making love to one another before we finally stop. "I love you," says Jon as he wraps me up in his arms, placing his hand on my stomach."
"I love you too," I say with a smile. "Are you happy about having twins?"
"I think I am, I'm going to ask Roman for some advice, if anyone knows about having twins it's him."
"That's for sure," I say with a smile cuddling close to him. "I hope you don't mind me planning a trip to Ohio to the lake house."
"No, it's not a big deal, you want your dad to come?" he asks.
"Yeah, I would like to tell him the news," I say.
"Okay," he says. "I love going to the lake house, best investment I ever made. We need to go to Florida and find a house."
"I know," I say, "I'm not ready to pack up and move our whole lives to Florida, I'm going to miss the snow and the winter."
"I will not," he says, "I'm not a winter fan."
"I know you're not but I love the winter and I'm going to miss the ability to travel into the city but I am ready to embark on this next adventure with you. I love doing life with you and even though so many people in our hometown thought we would never be anything, I'm glad I am living this life with you, we have everything we need but the most important thing we have is love, that's all I ever wanted."
"It's all I ever wanted too," he says, "and I love life with you, I love you, I love our kids and I love those two lives we created inside of you right now. I never thought that I threw my life away, I always thought that I was gaining in life, which I did, I gained you in life, 4 beautiful kids with you, and two more on the way. This other stuff the money, the careers that's just extra, your love and the love of our kids is what built us up. I love you, Ana."
"That's a winner," I smile, "I love you too," I say before I kiss his lips softly, "but our babies make me so tired so I'm going to sleep. Goodnight."
"Goodnight," he says holding me close.
