Ch 29 And Baby Makes Three
Things looked differently from Teddy's point of view.
Teddy sat up in bed. He could see his body still lying in bed, and people standing before him. It looked like his Mum and Dad. He had seen pictures of them in his gran's house, had often stared at his missing parents, wondering about them. Further away he saw others.
"Am I dead?" he asked.
"You'd better not be!" his parents stressed in unison. His father continued on, "Albus Potter did not call us back from the dead to have you die on us. You have a very long life to lead. I am your father, Remus Lupin, and this is your mother."
"We are very proud of you!" Tonks beamed.
"You have been in agony, semi awake, the last two days, after escaping from Jezebel Nukpana's island," Remus explained. "You are a little battered, and you'll never get your leg back or be quite as pretty as before, but you should live a long life and give us many grandchildren."
Teddy could see some people talking to Albus, Rose and their two best friends. "Albus brought you here?" Teddy wondered.
"Yes," Remus replied, "Us to heal you. Most of the healing was done by your bride to be Victoire, but in the end the curses were so strong that we were needed for you, and Victoire's uncles were needed for her."
Teddy looked over at Victoire. She was in the same state as he was, lying in bed under the covers, holding on to him, and at the same time sitting up in bed talking. She did not have anything on, and Teddy took a good look. Victoire looked spectacular! What a body! Somehow he could feel his body lying on the bed next to Victoire. Teddy was suddenly aware that he was very turned on, more of his flesh pressing against more of her flesh than he had ever experienced before.
"How can I marry her after all I had to do?" Teddy asked, terrified that his actions on the Island had permanently ruined him.
"Just do it," Tonks insisted. "I married your father even though he was a poor werewolf. Victoire already knows some of what you had to do, and when the time comes Victoire will find out enough. You don't have to tell anyone everything. Meanwhile we forgive you, and you need to forgive yourself."
"What do I do now?" Teddy asked his parents.
"You need to wake up and let everybody know you are all right," Remus replied.
"Before you go to sleep Victoire wants you to get a grandchild started for us," Tonks admitted. "We would rather you were at least engaged, but have a wedding ceremony as soon as possible. In the meantime, the physical sexual union will help heal the curses better than chocolate, although a little chocolate won't hurt."
"We love you, and Victoire," Remus added, giving Teddy a gentle little kiss. He then turned to Victoire and told her, "We love you," giving her a gentle kiss too.
Tonks held on to Teddy tightly and gave him a kiss. "We love you. I am so sorry that I left you to be raised by others, although I have to say they did a magnificent job. Make grandbabies for us, and enjoy that beautiful woman and your children for us."
Then Remus spoke to Teddy and the others, and the conversation proceeded with everyone aware of what was being said. Teddy was aware that the first part of the conversation was for he and Victoria only, and was also aware that, in the strange logic of the spirit works, it took no time that the others in the room could sense.
Once everybody was gone, Teddy lay back in bed. There was a healer in the room, but everyone else was gone.
"Victoire," he asked. "Did you see my parents?" Teddy was even more aware that neither of them had anything on, and that a naked and very curvy woman was all but merging her body with his.
"Yes, and my uncles," Victoire replied. "We ought to let everybody know we are all right."
"Maybe we should roll away from each other before we talk to people," Teddy suggested. "I am supposed to, well, we need to talk more when we are alone."
"We need to do more than talk, Teddy," Victoire giggled, as she turned.
When both of them were lying on their backs Teddy said, "Wow, I just talked to my parents. That was fantastic. They say I will be all right! I feel ... I feel … I think I feel better than I have felt in a couple of years, since before going undercover. Did Harry get my maps?"
"Yes," the healer on duty confirmed. "Do you want me to dismiss everybody else for right now? I expect you both need a good night's sleep."
"Please," Victoire replied. "We would like to be alone for a while."
Teddy and Victoire were lying under a sheet, no clothes on either of them. They had magical catheters in so they did not have to go to the bathroom, and had been fed by magical IV's. For two days they had endured torture together, and they were both exhausted. Before leaving the wizard removed the magic catheters and IV's.
Victoire knew her body. She was a medical student, and had made a study of her own body. Usually when an egg released she could feel a slight twinge, and her studies had trained her to feel it. She could feel her body release an egg shortly before the visit from the dead. It was about two weeks from her last period, right about time.
She wanted babies. She had waited longer than she thought she should, and it was time. So she told Teddy, "Time to make a baby. Then we can go to sleep."
Victoire and Teddy had not had sex; Victoire was a virgin. But Victoire knew medically what to do, and for all the exhaustion having a naked woman next to you, your own fiancé, was a tremendous turn on. When Victoire indicated that Teddy should get on top of her he obliged and it was not long before Victoire was not a virgin. Teddy quickly fell into the best sleep for him since going under cover. Victoire lay on her back, with her legs closed, feeling inside her what she hoped was going to make a baby for them, and thinking of that fell sound asleep.
After about an hour the wizard went back into the room. From looking at Victoire, who had done nothing to clean up, it was obvious what Teddy and Victoire had done. He knew from examining them before that Victoire was a virgin. Probably very healing what Teddy and Victoire had just done, thought the wizard. He was curious and did a spell. Nothing firm yet, the spell seemed to say, but there is an egg moving towards the sperm, and they are advancing on the egg. We should know in a week or so if this takes.
It was late when Minerva received a message on her Magical/Muggle Mobile. "Please open your Floo for Albus, Rose, Scorpius and Cleopatra." She saw that the message was from Harry, so she opened her Floo for just those four people. As those four came through the Floo Frerin and Dis, the Elves that guarded Albus and Cleo, appeared.
"What happened?" Minerva wondered.
"My father says that we must not talk about what we saw or did to anyone," Albus replied.
"Very well. Go right to your dormitories'," Minerva insisted. "It is almost curfew."
"Yes, Professor," the four answered, almost in unison.
"Thank you for letting us go, Professor," Albus told the headmistress. "My father really did need me, us."
"Your father needed his friends when he was a student, Mr. Potter," Minerva replied with a smile. "If he wanted to take all of you, who was I to object. Now, to your dormitories!"
About 10:00 AM both were awake. A witch had gowns for both of them, which they put on. The other witch was about to help Teddy to the loo when Victoire said she would do it.
Both were famished, and they both ate big breakfasts. About 11:00 AM the wizard who had been in charge of their case came in. He had spells for both Teddy and Victoire to say several times a day to help manage the memories of the trauma both had experienced.
"I have a couple more spells," he told the couple. "The first one you should use before you make love. That's probably the most healing act you two have done the last couple of days."
Teddy and Victoire looked guiltily at each other, but learned the spell.
"The final one is for the baby you have just started," the wizard added. "We just have a fertilized egg. This spell does nothing to keep a defective egg alive, but as long as the growing baby is all right it keeps the emotional events of the last two weeks from harming the baby or causing you to lose the baby." Teddy and Victoire gladly learned that spell as well.
That evening Harry and Ginny brought over some clothes for Teddy. Bill and Fleur came over with some conservative clothes for Victoire.
"When are you coming home, Victoire?" Fleur wondered.
"Teddy needs me!" Victoire insisted. "The healers say my staying with Teddy is helping to heal him."
"I would really like Victoire to stay with me," Teddy agreed.
The healer that was in the room concurred. "We would have lost Teddy were it not for Victoire, and all the help she and you did to support Mr. Lupin. We healers agree that Victoire is some of the best medicine for Teddy right now, as good as our medicine."
Victoire did ask for a couple more changes of clothes and night clothes. When Fleur brought back the clothes Victoire did not say much, but she determined that she was going to go home when she could and get her own clothes. Everything was conservative, designed to cover up as much as they could. The night clothes in particular were cotton pajamas that covered her from head to toe, designed for a co-ed slumber party not sleeping with your lover. You could change the shape of the clothes, up to a point, although before this she never needed to become proficient in seamstress spells. She had never learned to change the fabric, either, so she was stuck with cotton.
Shortly before dinner Albus, Cleo, Rose and Scorpius were finally alone.
"Yesterday evening was sure interesting," Scorpius observed.
"I think we need to pretend it didn't happen," Albus insisted. And that was the last time any of them mentioned Teddy or what had happened that Autumn.
The next morning after breakfast Andromeda was brought in to Teddy's room. Andromeda told her grandson, "I saw Ted and your parents yesterday, Teddy."
"We heard," Teddy replied. "Did it help, talking to them?"
Andromeda quietly admitted, "I feel ashamed I fell apart after your parents were killed. I should have been strong, for you and in memory of them. I WILL learn to fight, to honor their memory. I just hope you will not go on another of those dangerous undercover missions."
Teddy insisted, "Grandma, I will not go on another undercover mission. I'll take care of you."
Victoire added, "We'll take care of you. Teddy and I are getting married, and you can be part of our household."
Andromeda stayed about an hour before the witch that was with her said that Teddy and Victoire had other things they needed to do, but that she would be back later in the day. From that time on Andromeda had an hour visit in the morning and in the evening, and lunch and dinner with Teddy and Victoire. Andromeda stayed in St. Mungo's until Teddy was discharged.
Victoire had trained as a healer, but her specialty was Pediatrics. Victoire loved children, and as one of the older cousins was always willing to watch her younger brother and sister and younger cousins. She really did not have a lot of training in Post-Traumatic Stress, but with both Andromeda and Teddy suffering from it she started to learn more about it, going through some training at St. Mungo's while Teddy was going through other treatments.
Harry waited two days after Teddy was out of the intensive care portion of his treatment before talking to Molly and Arthur. He told Ginny a little of what had gone on with Albus and his friends, but said he would show her much more later. Meanwhile Harry tried to decide how much of the memory of that evening he should show people. He worked with the memory specialists at the ministry to get the key memories duplicated and in order. Both memory specialists had a hard time seeing Fabian Prewett Weasley. Both had taken testimony on some really horrible crimes, but even that had not prepared them for seeing how horribly Bellatrix had tortured baby Fabian. Harry finally decided to start with Albus turning the ring and calling for help, and ending with his discussion with Al and Cleo.
Harry met privately at Grimmauld Place with just Ginny, Arthur and Molly present. "None of you were in the room when Albus came in with the Resurrection Stone," Harry started with. "I need to show you some of the memories of that day, when we were visited by the dead."
Harry took out a vial with the part of the memory that he wanted to show Arthur and Molly, and Ginny because he did not want any more secrets from her than absolutely necessary. He emptied the memory into his Pensive, and the four people entered it.
The memory started where Harry's parents turned to show the people gathered there two other people, Fred and Fabian. It did not end until there was no sign of any of the people who had visited from the other side.
Harry, Ginny, Arthur and Molly exited the Pensive.
When they were done Molly, Arthur and Ginny were all crying. It took a good half an hour before the two couples had composed themselves enough to speak. Finally, Molly told the others, "I have photographs in our bedroom, duplicated that I was given after the old Burrow was destroyed. Let us go to our house so I can get them out."
The two couples took the Closet to the New Burrow. Molly went into her bedroom and brought out six photographs. Five of them were of Fabian or Fabian and the family. She said she was going to have them duplicated and enlarged and put them in their proper places among the other photographs that were scattered on walls on the house.
The last one she gave to Harry. He thought he knew what was in it, and one peek confirmed that this was the famous photograph of the mutilated body of Fabian that had caused so much horror to the Wizarding world. This, thought Harry, he going to show to new Aurors and the graduates of Dumbledore's Army to show just what evil was, and why they needed to fight it.
When they arrived home Harry asked Ginny, "What did you think of my parents' conversation with Cleo and Al?"
Ginny thought a moment before answering. "I've known that Albus and Cleopatra would get married that first Christmas, just from seeing them together. Since then they have gotten so close that they are like an old married couple. We know from the Tapestry that they are not sexually intimate, but they can almost read each other's minds, and they love each other very much. And Cleo is in love with this family in a way very similar to the way another young boy who grew up in a loveless family fell in love with another family, even before he noticed a certain red headed girl was head over heels in love with him."
"I'm certainly glad a certain beautiful red headed girl finally got that boy's attention," said Harry. "Even if she didn't exactly wait for me to propose."
"I hope our children are not as young as we were when they get married," Ginny mused, frowning.
"What did Minerva say about your female ancestors?" Harry kidded.
"Oh, I certainly hope not," Ginny gasped. Harry knew that Ginny was saying, with the shorthand way married couples often communicate. She hoped that none of their children, especially the flighty Lily Luna, would end up married or pregnant before they graduated from Hogwarts.
"There was one photograph of Fabian you did not show me, Harry," Ginny insisted. "No secrets between us. I guess it's not pretty."
Harry took the photograph out of its envelope and showed it to Ginny. Ginny looked at the photograph in horror, and grabbed for her stomach. She thought she would throw up. She thought she would be haunted by that photograph until the end of her days. It was of a still alive Fabian howling in the worst agony you could imagine, his arms and legs ripped off, his eyes and genital organs mutilated in the most horrible and painful way. "No wonder mother was able to kill Bella," Ginny grimaced. "Oh Harry, that is just the most horrible thing I have ever seen!" Harry put the photograph back, and held on to Ginny. They both cried, and then, in a healing way held on to each other and bawled over the horror they had seen. Somehow the crying and holding allowed them to get over the horrible sight, more or less, but they knew why Molly and Arthur ALWAYS referred to Bella as, "That Bitch, may she rot in Hell."
