WENDY P.O.V.
Today started as usual when working on Friday night in a restaurant, pretty busy with people coming in. I have at least five tables when Mira sits someone else in my section and I can't see the menus from here. I waited until a man sat down at the table before heading over there.
"Hi my name is Wendy! I'll be your server today, can I start you off with something to drink?" I smiled while pulling out my pad and pen.
"Oh well, I'm waiting for someone if you don't mind waiting for a little bit." I nodded my head and I saw flowers next to him on the table. My best guess would be he's here for a date. That's pretty normal considering we are one of the best restaurants for dates in the country!
"Of course, I'll come back to see how you are doing." I walked away towards the kitchen and I saw Lucy running back out to the floor.
I start looking for Mira so I can ask her about a few things, but then I see Natsu with alcohol and a lighter. "Natsu, what are you doing?"
"I'm going to make Flaming Doctor Pepper." As his eyes widen
"Just be carefully Natsu"
"I will be" As he smiles even wider just thinking about it. He always wanted someone to ask for one of those specialized drinks especially with fire. I don't know why he loves fire so much. Just to be safe let me get someone else to make sure he doesn't burn down the place.
"Hey Gray!" I shouted so he could come towards me
"What's up?"
"Natsu is going to do a Flaming shot can you please go help him."
"Yeah, no problem" He calmly walks out while I grab my plates for one of my tables. I quickly trayed the food and headed out.
10 Minutes Later….
I just served one of my tables and am still serving the other four, but I decided to take another shot at the table with the man. I walk back over and he's still sitting alone so I gave him my biggest smile.
"How about something to drink while you wait?" He nodded his head.
"Yeah, can I just get blackberry lemonade?" I smiled even wider "What?"
"That's my favorite drink from here." He smiled and I noticed he had x shaped scars on his face.
"FIRE IN THE HOLE!" We looked over as Natsu lit the shots on fire and it went as expected. He burned the bar a little bit before Gray used the fire extinguisher. I laughed a little bit, but then I looked back at the man and he's just staring at me.
"Sorry about that, he just gets a little too excited"
"That's okay, as long as everyone is fine."
"Okay, so I'm going to go get your drink." I walked back and prepared his drink then came back to leave the drink on his table. I scan the room to look for Mira, and then I see her in front. I waited to see if anyone needed to be seated, but it's quiet today which is a little weird.
"Hey Mira, the guy you last sat in my section can you let me know if a person joins him." I pointed out the man you who sat alone waiting with lilies.
"No problem Wendy, and it seems to be slowing down. Would you like to be cut first?" She smiled so sweetly before rearranging the seating chart.
"Yeah that would be wonderful"
"Okay then, he's your last table" I nodded as I walked to get my other table's food and to check on them.
30 minutes later...
I am down to two other tables than the guy who is still sitting alone. I walked over to him and slid a plate of bread with butter. He finally accepted it because I can tell he was hungry.
"So do you still want something to eat?" At this point I can tell that he's disappointed and embarrassed that he's all alone.
"Can I just get a salad with ranch dressing for now?" I nodded but his eyes didn't meet mine anymore.
"Hey, there's a bunch of people who just came in and they've been waiting for a bit. Maybe she's in the crowd. What's her name?" He finally looked at me
"Her name is Katja"
"Okay then, I'll see if she's here" I walked back to the front to see Mira silently freaking out on where she's going to put people. I tapped her on the shoulder and gestured for her to give me the seating chart.
"Wendy, what are you thinking?"
"I'm trying to see how many groups and people." I'm looking at who is left on the chart and hope there's not a lot of people because I want to relax.
"We have 3 groups with 4 people then we have a party of 10 people."
"Okay then, give a table to Lucy, Gray, and even Natsu. Give Erza the party because she can handle it. That way you can close off certain sections earlier to clean up which means people can get home on time."
"Thanks Wendy, did you need anything?" I nodded
"Yeah, can you see if there's a Katja. I'm hoping my last table didn't get stood up"
"IS THERE A KATJA HERE?" Everyone stood silent and there went my hope. "I'm sorry Wendy"
"It's okay, he just really seems like a sweet guy." Mira gives me a weird look
"What else did you notice?" I lightly blushed "Ooh"
"It's not like that! The man is many years older than me!" I whispered to her so no one else would hear me. She starts taking each group of people to their tables as I go back to taking care of my tables.
A/N: This is one of my newer stories that will only have a few chapters. I understand that people don't like the ship Mest and Wendy because of the age difference.
