Good evening, guys. It's time for the finale of JAS. I can't believe I finally finished, even as the pandemic slowed me down. We'll see everyone spending time together, and meet a brand new member of the family. Let's see how it all ends. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I own nothing but my OC's.
Epilogue
December 25th had fallen upon the world again. Meaning another year of Christmas for those who celebrated. And for the Junkyard Gang and their families, that meant spending the holidays together this year. After everything that happened, they just wanted to see each other again.
So a few days prior, everyone had met up at the Davis mansion, since it was big enough to fit a group of people. That, and the kids wanted to play in Alya's huge playroom. Rudy and Danielle threw a Christmas Eve party the night before the big day, with a huge dinner, games, sang carols, and a Secret Santa session where they exchanged gifts, but they couldn't exactly open them until Christmas Day.
Christmas Day comes, and everyone is ready to have fun. They gathered in the den where the big Christmas tree sat, and the fireplace was ablaze, settling a warmness in the room.
Theo tore open a wrapped gift from Harry, which turned out to be a Ninja Turtle action figure, "Awesome! I've been looking for Mikey, but he was always sold out. Thanks, man!" He fist-bumped his friend, who smiled, "Yeah. I knew you'd like the party dude. Check this out." He showed off the basketball cards gifted to him by Violet, "Miss Violet got me these genuine cards signed by real-life NBA players. So glad she and my dad are dating now."
April put on a purple sparkling headband that her Dad gifted her, "So pretty."
"You look like a princess," Fuchsia mentioned.
"Thanks, sis. And I like the pictures in your book."
Fuchsia flipped through a book from Sondra, who in turn brushed the hair of her new Sugar Plum Fairy Queen doll, a gift from her best friend, "Me too. There are pictures of animals and colors and so much more." She agreed.
"And your doll's dress glows in the dark," Fuchsia mentioned.
The twins giggled as they played with their new Brown Hornet toys. A decoder compass for Elvin, and a Tweeterbell action figure for Nelson. Sometimes, they would switch the toys as an act of sharing.
Alya smiled at the new microphone that Theo got her, so he knew that she liked to sing, but was shy about it. All she could do was stare lovingly at the boy who she was proud to call a friend and a hero.
As for the adults, they were enjoying their gifts and each other's company. Trina and Sasha watched Jamal (who would be one in January) and Jan (who recently turned one back in November), play together on the couch, touching and patting each other's hands, "They really like each other." Trina noticed.
"Si. It's so cute." Sasha gushed.
Behind the couch, Bill and Cami both enjoyed a nice mug of coffee and tea respectively, looking at Cami's ever-growing belly. She was now six months pregnant with, to their surprise, twin girls! When their boys learned that they were gonna be big brothers, they were ecstatic, and always talked to their mother's stomach. The unborn daughters were given the names Denise and Vanessa.
"I'm so happy..." Cami sighed, "Just a few more months until the girls are here."
"Yeah, and the boys will be all over them." Bill added, "Four kids. Wow..."
Speaking of babies...
Also on the couch was Danielle, cradling her sweet four-month-old baby boy in her arms. Eric James Davis was born on July 31st, three weeks early from his due date in August. He was a tiny baby at birth but had grown a bit since then. Whereas Alya resembled her mother, Eric resembled his father, his complexion closer to his, and having a bush of curly hair.
Rudy approached the two, a glass of wine in his hand. He reached down to caress his son's hair, "How's he doing?" He asked.
"Just as quiet as ever." Danielle smiled, "This is the best thing I could ever ask for this Christmas."
"Same. And thanks again for suggesting his name..."
When Eric was born, Danielle was the one who came up with his name. Eric was the name of her grandfather who passed a while ago, and James... in honor of Rudy's father. The rich man himself was overwhelmed with tears when he learned this information. To him, there was no better way to remember his dad. The baby yawned as he stared at his parents with big dark brown eyes.
Alya came over to give her little brother a kiss, "Merry first Christmas, Eric." She whispered with a smile.
Russell, Harold, Bucky, and Mush were all engaged in conversation. Russell and Melba's wedding was set to occur in February, with Rudy of course providing entertainment with the artists under his label. Both Russell and Devery, after a while, forgave Rudy after the reveal of what he almost did to Melba, though it was hard to tell at times since Russell spouted more 'No class' insults than usual.
Harold was a month into his rekindled relationship with Violet. It was still slightly shaky, but it was lasting longer than before. Bucky's store was getting more and more popular so that there were plans to expand the business overseas now. Mush still held his job as a speech teacher, and before school got out, all of his classmates put together a huge Christmas card to thank him for a great semester.
Leia and Donald were sharing a kiss on the mistletoe that Danielle set up, and they appear to have been in that position for almost ten minutes now. This was Donald's first mistletoe kiss in years. The last one was with Elaine at a Christmas party. He hasn't seen her in a long time and wonders what she's up to. But for now, he was feeling love as Leia deepened the kiss every few seconds.
As for Albert... he was watching everyone. He smiled at how happy everyone was right now. It was a good feeling after everything they've been through starting this past year. The summer road trip, the criminals teaming up to attack them, and Reagan almost killing Theo... his nightmare almost came through... but thankfully, it didn't.
After the road trip, Albert took to writing his thoughts down... in the journal the guys wrote in after their encounter with Gabe many years ago. He never thought he'd come back to that notebook, but here he was. In fact, he was holding the notebook now and reading the latest entry he made.
Dear Journal,
It's been a while, hasn't it? Well, my family, friends, and I have gone through a lot these past two years. Let me tell you all about it.
After getting the gang back together last summer we were hit with a storm of trouble. Between Rudy and Donald's feud and a human trafficking system that put all of our kids in danger, I can say that last summer was sure eventful. Little did I know, that wasn't the end of the craziness. Fast forward to this summer, we all get together for a road trip, and another feud arises, this time between Rudy and Danielle. Top that off with Reagan breaking out of jail and hunting us down, capturing us and siccing our worst enemies on us, including Gabe. You remember him.
Anyways, the kids came to save us, but the worst thing to come out of this whole ordeal... was the fact that I almost lost my son. That bastard plunged a knife into his knife, directly striking his heart. To this day, I'm not sure how Theo survived. But my boy has a big heart, he said, so maybe that has something to do with it. All I know is, I'm thankful that my boy is still here. I'm glad that we're all still here. When our trip started, I had a sinking feeling that something was going to happen, and boy did things happen. Then, a nightmare popped up one night that had our kids dead. So I'm thankful that didn't come true, even if it almost happened with Theo.
So now, here we are, celebrating Christmas together. It's almost like none of that stuff ever happened. Even with Reagan Sauls still a fugitive, we're not letting that get in the way of our lives. What's important is that we keep moving forward, no matter what. So, that's all I have to say. Now I want to sing some songs. Hey, hey, hey.
-Sincerely, Albert.
Closing the book, the large man turned to where the mistletoe was and saw an adorable sight. Theo and Alya were underneath the plant, as Alya leaned in to give the boy a small peck on the lips. Theo blushed deeply as she giggled. That's when April pulled Harry over as well and did the same thing.
Albert had to admit, they all looked like they would be perfect for one another in the future.
"Hey, hey, hey! It's a wonderful Christmas day!" he announced, "For all of us together."
Everyone agreed to that with echoes of Christmas wishes. Because he was right. Despite all that they've been through...
They were all blessed to have one another...
They were blessed... to be one big happy family...
THE END
Aaaannnd that's a wrap!
Just Another Summer is officially over. We celebrate Christmas in July (since it's still July when I post this), we're introduced to Rudy and Danielle's baby at last. And Albert reflects on everything that's happened. I wanna thank you guys who were patient with me when I was getting this done. I currently have ideas for more stories with these characters and storylines. Will I write them? Only time (and my life) will tell.
Until then, I'll see you guys later. And as always, don't forget to review, please. Thank you.
