Maggie had gone home, showered and changed for her date with Jubal, she couldn't believe how excited she was for their second date. There was no doubt that she was falling for him the more time that they got together, even when at work. She had been surprised about him trying to steal little moments at work just to check in with each other and how he now stood that little bit closer to her when they were in the JOC. She was convinced that her face was going to start to hurt if she didn't stop smiling soon but when it came to Jubal and even just thinking about him lately she realised that she couldn't stop the smile that automatically appeared.
Once again she found herself wanting to reach out to her sister to get advice about what to wear on this date but at the same time she wanted to keep this to herself until she actually saw how things would go. Maggie Bell was not a superstitious person but she didn't want to tell anyone about dating Jubal incase it went wrong between them, she felt like if they could keep this just between them for now that they had a much better chance of making something between them actually work.
Maggie shook her head and checked herself one final time in the mirror before lifting her handbag and grabbing her keys she left her apartment heading to Jubal's, she had wanted to be there exactly at 6pm since he had showed up exactly on time for their first date. Maggie had decided to leave her hair down again tonight, it was a way for her to visibly acknowledge that them hanging out together was nothing to do with work and was them on a date. When she arrived at his apartment building she thanked the young woman that let her in to the building as Maggie made her way up to Jubal's door, she checked herself once more before taking a deep breath and knocking on his door.
Jubal was a little surprised when Maggie had agreed to their second tonight as he knew that she was exhausted after their case but he didn't want to waste the opportunity tonight when they were both free. He wanted to really put as much effort as he could into tonight, he knew that this was the first time that Maggie had agreed to a second date with someone since her husband had died. Jubal was determined to make sure that she didn't regret that decision, he also didn't want this to be their last date. This wasn't about him proving to Maggie that some men were worth second dates, this was about him proving to Maggie that she could have a future with him because that was what he wanted.
He checked everything quickly when he heard Maggie knocking the door and he smiled walking over and answering and he smiled that sincere, gentle, charming smile that she had noticed for the first time on their first date.
"Hey, come on in." He stepped back holding the door open for Maggie "You look beautiful Maggie." He leaned in kissing her cheek as she stepped closer to him to walk into his apartment as he remembered that was something that he could do now.
"And you are way too sweet." Maggie smiled as she stepped into Jubal's apartment, she couldn't help that her eyes closed briefly at the feel of his lips on her cheek. She was starting to wonder after a long week if she had dreamt that he had kissed her cheek, this was reminding her that she had not dreamt it and that they were really were here on date.
"Only to you." Jubal smiled closing the door once Maggie had stepped into his apartment. "We have a few minutes before dinner is ready, so you can sit and relax on the couch while I finish up the final things."
At the mention of dinner Maggie looked towards Jubal's small table and realised that he had a white table cloth covering it which was set for them and in the middle was a candle waiting to be lit. There was also a small display of flowers sitting to the side of the table to brighten it up and to make it more romantic. She couldn't believe what she was seeing, this man really was full of surprises. She turned back to look at Jubal "You did all of this for me, for us?." Maggie was just about able to get her words out as she was genuinely surprised.
Jubal had been standing watching Maggie look towards the table and he wasn't sure about what was going through her head. He could tell that she was genuinely surprised and when she turned to face him again he noticed the surprise of him doing this had brought tears to her eyes, he stepped forward taking her hands in his squeezing them gently.
"Maggie I was serious when I told you that you deserved so much, I would love nothing more than take you out to a fancy restaurant and spoil you like you truly deserve. But I also know that we both will relax more here because we won't be looking over our shoulders making sure that no one we work with will see us, yet. So since we can't go out I decided to try and do something nice for you here by cooking us dinner." Jubal had decided that it was best to just be honest with Maggie.
Maggie was trying to process everything that Jubal was saying to her, she genuinely couldn't believe that he had gone to this much bother for a date with her. The case had been exhausting for them all yet he had found the energy to put this together for them. She had noticed straight away how once again he had said the word 'yet' making it clear he was thinking about the future with them which scared her as much as it excited her.
Maggie walked closer to Jubal, her eyes looking deep in to his, realising for the first time how beautiful his hazel eyes were and how they had an extra almost sparkle to them. She could see that Jubal had basically froze as Maggie stepped right in to his personal space, she lifted her hand up to his cheek caressing his cheek with her thumb, seeing his eyes close briefly at the contact gave her the confidence to continue with her reason for stepping into his personal space. Her eyes darted to Jubal's lips before back up to his eyes as she leaned in and pressed her lips to his for the first time.
Jubal wasn't sure that he could breath as he watched Maggie step closer to him, she hadn't spoken since he explained why he had gone to so much effort tonight, even though to him it felt like it wasn't enough. He wanted to keep his focus on her but feeling her hand on his cheek for the very first time had him closing his eyes savouring it, wanting to remember how it felt for her hand to caress his cheek. Her touch was so gentle, exactly what he had expected from Maggie, he noticed how she looked at his lips and before he had time to even react to that he felt her lips press lightly, almost tentatively against his.
Maggie wasn't sure if she had made a mistake kissing Jubal but in that moment it had felt right, she went to pull back to apologise to him for just kissing him out of nowhere but feeling her ready to pull back had Jubal jumping into action. He was so surprised that Maggie Bell had actually kissed him first, he realised he hadn't reacted when he felt her going to pull away and that was all it took to pull Jubal out of his daze. He wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her body flush against his as he deepened the kiss a little, he ran his other hand along her arm to her cheek letting his thumb brush her cheek. He couldn't believe that he was kissing Maggie, this was actually happening and she was the one that had started it all. Jubal ran his tongue along her lower lip and he couldn't help the low moan that escaped as he felt her tongue tangle with his, tasting her for the first time. He knew that this was a moment he was never going to forget and in that moment he knew that he wanted to kiss her as often as she would allow him to, because she tasted and felt perfect to him.
Maggie was convinced that Jubal didn't want to kiss her when he hadn't reacted to her lips pressing lightly against his for the first time, but then she felt his arm around her waist and that thought soon disappeared from her mind. It did not surprise her at all that Jubal Valentine was such a dam good kisser, she was thankful that he was holding her so flush against his body as she was sure that if he wasn't that her knees would buckle. She had never been kissed so deeply yet gently by someone before, his touch to her cheek reminding her how gentle he could be and that was something that was going to take a while to get used to. But it was something that she wanted to get used to.
Jubal finally broke the kiss after what felt like a glorious eternity to him, not because he wanted to but because his lungs were screaming at him to get some air. But he didn't to pull away from her just yet, he wanted to make the most of this moment, getting to be the one that held her this close and being the reason that her lips were so red. He had no idea how their date was going to go and if she would want another date after tonight so he was planning on making the most of every opportunity that he got. God she looked even more beautiful with that smile and looking flushed from their kiss, he didn't think it was possible for her to get any more beautiful in his eyes, but here she was proving him wrong. He lay his forehead gently against hers as his thumb still caressed her cheek gently.
"I should have made you dinner a long time ago if that's the response I would have gotten." He whispered with that small flirty cheeky smirk on his lips.
Maggie slapped his arm playfully as she laughed softly, she ran her hand from his arm around to his lower back, enjoying getting to be the one that was touching him like this. "That kiss was for you just being you, for letting me see this side to you, for going to all this trouble for us. Don't worry I won't tell people about how romantic and sweet Jubal Valentine really is." She smirked playfully
"Right now you could tell the whole world if it means that I get to keep kissing you." Apparently kissing her had stopped any filter between his brain and mouth as completely unguarded honesty was just spilling out of him now. Jubal closed the short distance between them as he leaned in kissing her again, keeping it short this time as he pulled back a little. "Come on, you can keep me company while I go make sure that I haven't burnt dinner." He chuckled softly as he took Maggie's hand in his and lead them to the kitchen.
Maggie was completely caught off guard with how honest Jubal was about her telling anyone and everyone about his sweet side as long as he could keep kissing her. She was thankful that she didn't have to speak when she felt his lips against hers as she wasn't sure that she could get words to come out of her mouth. She shook her head laughing as she squeezed his hand gently walking into the kitchen with him, she was perfectly okay with him wanting to maintain the physical contact right now.
"I would apologise for distracting you from cooking but I don't think that either of us regret what just happened."
Jubal finally had to let go off Maggie's hand so that he could check on their food, he lifted his head when he heard Maggie about not regretting their first kiss. "Oh trust me if dinner had of been burnt it would have been totally worth it." He smiled that honest genuine smile at her that had Maggie shaking her head smiling back at him. "But you will hopefully be glad to know that it is not burnt."
"I am definitely glad, I'm really looking forward to tasting your cooking. I had no idea that you were such a confident cook."
"Well I won't be making any chefs worry anytime soon." He laughed softly as he started to plate up their dinner "I was always okay at cooking, was never the most confident, but when I moved in here my sister helped me learn meals that I could cook for the kids and I found that I actually enjoyed it so I started to teach myself more. It was a nice way to relax especially after a stressful day or week at work."
Maggie was loving that she was getting to learn more about Jubal and that he was trusting her so much to let her find out these personal things about him. "That makes sense it's not like you and the kids can live off takeouts when you have them, but at least now I know where to come to when I want or need a nice home cooked meal." She teased playfully.
Jubal couldn't help the smile that appeared on his face when he heard Maggie about showing up at his for home cooked meals, was this a sign that she was also thinking past a second date for them. He snapped himself out of his thoughts as he lifted a lighter handing it to Maggie, "You mind lighting the candle while I finish plating this up?."
"Of course not." Maggie smiled taking the lighter from Jubal as she went over to the table lighting the candle and she sat down when he brought over their plates.
They had made comfortable small talk while eating their dinner, both laughing and smiling more than either of them could remember in a really long time. Maggie had been surprised when she started to eat just how good the food was, only being distracted from the food when Jubal lay his hand on top of hers on the table when they had finished eating. She turned her hand around under his letting her fingertips run along his palm as she smiled softly at him.
"Jubal thank you so much for dinner, that was honestly one of the nicest meals that I have had in a really long time and I really mean that."
"I'm so glad that you liked it, I have to admit that I was a little nervous cooking for you, so knowing you enjoyed it makes me really happy." He couldn't stop smiling as he felt Maggie's fingertips on his palm.
"Well you really had no reason to be nervous because dinner was perfect, the only thing that was more perfect was the chef and his company." She smiled honesty looking at Jubal, she really couldn't remember the last time that she had felt this happy.
"Well the chef thanks you for being the most beautiful and easiest company he has ever had join him." Jubal leaned the short distance across the table and kissed Maggie softly before leaning back a little. "Go relax on the couch on the Mags and I will join you in a minute, I want to quickly clean up."
Maggie froze when Jubal called her Mags, the only people that called her that were her immediate family, it was the only people that she had felt comfortable with shortening her name. OA had tried it once and she had asked him not to again explaining it was a family thing. But with Jubal she found herself really liking the way that it sounded coming from his lips. She raised an eyebrow as she realised that Jubal had no idea that he just called her 'Mags'.
"Do you realise that you called me Mags?"
Jubal looked confused and then genuinely shocked as he squeezed her hand gently "Oh my God I am sorry, I honestly didn't even realise it just slipped out. I guess getting to kiss you now messes with my brain a little." He chuckled as he was hoping that she wasn't angry at him for it, he knew that it wasn't something he had heard anyone else calling her.
Maggie couldn't help the laugh that escaped when she heard Jubal "Oh so it's my fault that it slipped out?. And you don't have to apologise, it's just not something that I was expecting to hear. I usually hate my name being shortened unless it's my immediate family, they are the only ones that are allowed to call me Mags. OA tried once and never again."
"Okay I am going to need that story about OA, but seriously Maggie I really am sorry it won't happen again. I have no idea where it even came from, I had no idea that your family call you that." He took both her hands in his squeezing them gently.
Maggie could see that Jubal was genuinely shocked at his slip up and that he was really sorry about it "When we relax I'll tell you about OA's one and only time of calling me Mags. But.." Maggie took a deep breath as she ran her thumbs along Jubal's hands looking at their hands before finally back up at his eyes, she could see he was watching her closely to see if she was upset with him "If it's something you want to call me then I'm okay with it, just no calling me Mags at work."
Jubal was once again genuinely surprised by Maggie, he honestly never expected her to be okay with him calling her Mags, especially not when she said it was something that only immediate family called her. He was also trying to process the fact that surely this meant that she really was interested in there being something between them. His eyes had never left Maggie's, he just couldn't stop watching her.
"Are you sure? I don't want to use it if it's something that you would rather only your family use. I won't be offended or get upset if you ask me not to use it Maggie, I hope you know that?."
"I do." Maggie answered quickly and honestly "I know if I asked you to you would never call me it again, my siblings use it most of the time, my mum not too much and my dad always uses it unless it's a really serious conversation. He's actually the one that started calling me Mags when I was younger and it stuck. But I'm really okay with you calling me Mags, I actually like the way it sounded coming from you." Okay she had not planned on saying that last bit, it seemed talking about her family helped her let her guard down even more.
"Dads will usually be the one's to give their little girls nicknames, I'm the one that has always called Abigail 'Abby' and now it's all that my family call her." Jubal smiled honestly, he found it so much easier than he thought talking to Maggie about his kids and opening up that part of his life to her slowly. "Well as long as you are sure and since you like how it sounded then I will happily use 'Mags'" He smirked playfully.
"I'm going to regret telling you that I liked how it sounded aren't I?." She raised her eyebrow playfully, she had no idea how Jubal just made her feel so at ease. She didn't want to try and figure that out, right now she just wanted to enjoy her time with him.
"No don't worry your secret is safe with me…" He leaned in closer to her "Mags" he smirked playfully as he placed a soft and quick kiss to her lips before standing up lifting their plates. "Go relax, I'll join you in a minute."
"You are so dam lucky I trust you Valentine." Maggie shook her head laughing as she leaned back in her chair watching him before standing up and walking over to his couch sitting down and getting comfortable.
"If it helps that trust isn't something that I take lightly." Jubal was genuine as he said that, he was clearing up after their dinner quickly as he watched Maggie getting comfortable on his couch, seeing her on his couch was something that he could definitely get used to.
"That's goes for both of us, I know you are trusting me with letting me see this side of you and talking about your kids a little more freely and it really does mean a lot that you trust me so much." Maggie lay her head back against Jubal's couch as she watched him move around his kitchen before walking over to join her on the couch.
Jubal sat down right beside Maggie and he lay back resting his shoulder against hers so that they were touching as he took one of her hands in is. "I know with our jobs we have to trust each other when at work, sometimes lives literally depend on it but that can make it harder to trust people in our personal lives. But I don't want to hide from you Maggie, I don't want to be closed off from you and I know that you trusting me with the surprise tonight was a big thing for you. Thanks to OA we all know that you like having control as much as you can, which is why you are the one always driving."
Maggie couldn't help the playful groan when she heard Jubal about knowing she liked being in control thanks to OA. "I swear as much as I love him at times I could really strangle him, he loves to overshare at times." She shook her head laughing as she lay her head gently on Jubal's shoulder squeezing his hand gently "You know no part of me second guessed trusting you with surprising me tonight and I think that scared me a little." Maggie had found that much easier to say as Jubal couldn't see her face with resting her head on his shoulder.
"Oh don't worry you make it very obvious the times that you are close to strangling him." Jubal laughed softly, he knew that when Maggie said she loved OA that she had meant it as partners, best friends, he knew that there was nothing more between them so it hadn't bothered him at all when she said that, he knew the bond her and OA shared. "Well thank you for trusting me so much tonight Mags and I'm really glad that you did give me this chance to surprise you and try to do something nice for you." He kissed the top of her head enjoying the feel of her resting her head on his shoulder.
Maggie lifted her head when she heard Jubal so that she could see him again "Jubal you didn't just try, you succeeded at doing something nice for me. Tonight was one of the nicest things that anyone has ever done for me, so it's not something I take lightly. I think my kissing you without warning was evidence of that." She chuckled softly as her eyes darted to his lips at the mention of kissing him.
"Feel free to kiss me without warning anytime that you want." He smirked playfully but was actually being honest. Jubal saw Maggie look at his lips and that was all it took for him to lean in and kiss her slowly to begin with, he was really enjoying getting to be the one that was kissing her, this new development was something he was more than happy with. He deepened the kiss running his free hand along her side pulling her even closer to him, he smiled in the kiss when he heard a moan escape from Maggie at the feel of their tongues exploring each other, getting to know what each other wanted and liked in kisses.
When they had to break the kiss for air Jubal lay the side of his head against the couch as he turned his body more to face Maggie. He ran his hand along her arm to her cheek and he smiled when he saw Maggie had copied him as she lay her head against his couch just smiling watching him as she moved in closer to him. "You really are so beautiful Mags." He ran his thumb along her lips which were red again from the amount that he had kissed her tonight and not one part of him was sorry about that. "I'm really hoping that tonight isn't the last chance that you give me to show you how much I really do like you. You have no idea how lucky I feel to be the one getting to sit here on my couch kissing you."
Maggie couldn't take her eyes off Jubal, how was it possible for this man to be so gentle with her. His touch was something she had never felt before and was thankful that she didn't have to explain it as she wouldn't be able to find the right words, but it wasn't just his touch. His words were making her heart beat a little bit faster, making her smile more than she had in years. Maggie ran her hand along Jubal's arm slowly enjoying the feel of him under her hand even through his shirt, she lay her hand gently on his neck feeling his pulse against her palm as she ran her thumb along his jawline slowly.
"Jubal if you have to question if I want to keep doing this and finding out where it goes between us then I must not be kissing you right." She smirked playfully.
Jubal chuckled softly as he pulled Maggie as close as he could, he lifted her legs to rest across the top of his thighs so that he could hold her closer now "Hmm I may need a few more kisses just to be sure." He smirked playfully, but truth was that even though she was kissing him he couldn't believe it and yes a part of him wanted to hear her actually say that this wasn't their last night together but he didn't want to push her and scare her away.
Maggie happily let Jubal lift her legs to rest them across his thighs as it meant she got to be closer to him, she ran her hand from the side of his neck to the back of his neck letting her fingers scratch lightly at the base of his hairline. Her smile grew when she watched Jubal having to close his eyes at her touch and let out a soft contented sigh, she was storing that away for a later, she had just found one of his weak spots. Maggie moved her head on the couch closer so that their foreheads were touching as she spoke softly.
"Jubal… I don't want tonight to be our last date. But I don't need a fancy date like tonight, I just need and want time with you outside of work." Maggie had noticed that Jubal had let his guard down with her tonight so she saw that he needed her to say the words out loud and she was more than happy to say them, because she meant every word.
"Every free second I have outside of work is yours." Jubal whispered against Maggie's lips, he knew Maggie would know he meant that other than his kids he was offering her every free second he had. Hearing her say that she just wanted and needed time with him was everything that he had only ever dreamt of before tonight. He leaned in kissing Maggie slowly, taking his time to really enjoy how it felt to be kissing her wanting to remember it, even though he knew he was going to take every opportunity to kiss her as much as he could.
Maggie scratched the back of his neck gently as she felt him deepening the kiss even if they did keep it slow, both wanting to explore and savour getting to kiss each other. She couldn't help the smirk in the kiss when she heard the moan from Jubal at her scratching his neck, she really had found his weak spot and she loved it. They both jumped apart at the sound of Jubal's phone ringing having both getting lost in the kiss. Maggie laughed as she lay her forehead against his shoulder at the fact that they had jumped apart like someone had electrocuted them.
Jubal shook his head laughing kissing Maggie's head as he lifted his phone and he groaned "It's Isobel, I'm going to have to answer."
Maggie pulled back and was about to move back further but Jubal shook his head tightening his arm around her "Stay where you are Mags." He smiled giving her a quick kiss as he finally answered his phone. He sat watching Maggie, running his fingers through her hair slowly as he listened to Isobel, even though he was getting told about work he couldn't stop smiling as he was watching Maggie looking so comfortable on his couch, her legs still across his thighs. "Eh no it's okay Isobel I'll ring Maggie and OA. Yeah I'll see you soon." Jubal hung up holding his phone in his hand.
Maggie raised an eyebrow playfully "You not want to let Isobel ring me and call me in to work?."
"I thought that would be much easier for me to do since you are almost sitting in my lap." He smirked playfully as he was still running his fingers through her hair slowly.
"You know you are the one that pulled me this close?." She raised her eyebrow playfully as she ran her hand along his arm slowly, she had noticed she was really struggling to keep her hands off him.
"Oh I know I was, I like having you as close as possible, and I'm never going to apologise for that." Jubal leaned in stealing a quick yet soft kiss from Maggie knowing they were going to have to get up off his couch in a couple of minutes.
"I never want you to apologise for it." Maggie smiled honestly as she caressed Jubal's cheek lightly "So what's the case?."
"Murder, they killed my buzz." He smirked looking at Maggie.
Maggie could not help the belly laugh that escaped when she heard Jubal as she threw her head back a little before looking at him "That was awful Jubal." She shook her head still laughing.
"Totally worth it to hear and watch you laugh. You have no idea how beautiful you are when you laugh, I'm totally screwed if you keep laughing around me." Jubal looked at Maggie being completely serious.
"Well then you are in big trouble because you seem to make me laugh more than anyone has in a really long time." It seemed that Jubal being so honest brought out the honesty in Maggie as well.
"Oh I knew I was in trouble when I realised I had feelings for you." Jubal ran his hands along Maggie's legs that were still resting on him. "Do you need to go home before going into the JOC?."
Maggie wanted to ask him how long he had feelings for her but she was tabling that for later as she knew they had to focus on work "No I've everything I need in my bag and I just need to tie up my hair, I'll grab my jacket from my locker and it will hide my top so if you are okay with it I can go in with you."
"Of course you can come in with me Mags, means we get an extra few minutes together before having to get into work mode. Do you mind ringing OA and letting him know we have a case, I just need to go change this shirt, this is not a work shirt."
"I knew it! I knew I hadn't seen this shirt before." She sounded proud of herself for noticing and then smiled looking at Jubal as she lifted her legs from across his thighs so that he could move. "Yeah I'll ring OA, you go and get changed."
"We are coming back to how you noticed that this was a shirt I haven't wore at work." He smirked as he stole another kiss, yeah it was pretty evident he couldn't get enough of kissing Maggie Bell and he was never going to apologise for that. He finally stood up and headed towards his bedroom to change his shirt as Maggie rang OA to tell him that they had a case, she told him that she would meet him in work.
Maggie had learnt early on in their job that they always had to be prepared to be called in to work which is why she had her weapon and badge in her handbag, it's why she had to carry a larger handbag when out of the house and not driving her suv and she hadn't felt like driving tonight. She was tying up her hair with her back to Jubal as he walked in to the room and he came up behind her catching her off guard as he placed a soft kiss to her neck which caused her body to shiver.
"You have me completely torn, I love getting the chance to see you with your hair down because you rarely have it down at work. But wearing your hair up means I get to kiss your neck and I noticed the slight shiver." He stood behind her whispering to her ear as he ran his hands along her upper arms.
Maggie closed her eyes biting her lip when she felt Jubal's kiss and listened to him whispering at her ear, she turned her head and caught him off guard by kissing him deeply. "You will be getting to see me with both… Now stop distracting me when we have work, we have to get the guys that killed your buzz." She whispered against his lips smirking playfully.
Jubal couldn't believe that tonight had felt so easy between them, their first kiss had felt right and so dam perfect, there was no awkwardness after, they had just got even closer, both freely kissing each other every chance they got. He also noticed how they were finding any reason possible to have their hands on each other and he was NEVER going to complain about that.
"You should want to catch them, they ruined our evening."
"They didn't ruin it, just cut it short. We can pick up right where we left off when we solve this case." She smirked placing a quick kiss to his lips before stepping forward lifting her handbag walking towards his door, her smirk growing when she heard Jubal groaning playfully behind her.
"Well that's one way to get me to work faster, and to push the team harder to close this case twice as fast." He shook his head watching Maggie walk towards his door, she was going to be the death of him and he was more than okay with that.
He shook his head to get out of his thoughts as he went to his safe taking out his gun and badge and grabbed his Bluetooth earpiece before joining Maggie at the door, when they stepped outside he locked up as they made their way towards his car. He put in his Bluetooth earpiece in case anyone was to ring him on their way in.
"You know I always thought that thing was actually surgically attached to your ear." She joked playfully as they walked and she smiled when she felt Jubal take her hand entangling their fingers, she realised he was being serious about making the most of their time before having to get in to work mode.
"It does feel like it at times, but when I'm with you I want you to have my full attention. I think you totally underestimate how hard it is for me to concentrate when you are standing close to me in the JOC, and now that I know what it's like to kiss you that's going to be even worse." He smirked as he looked at Maggie who he knew he had totally surprised with his admission.
"You are never going to stop surprising me with your words are you?" She squeezed his hand gently "I really am so dam thankful that I am the one that gets to see this side to you, not something I ever imagined happening and now I couldn't imagine it being any other way between us."
It seems Maggie was determined to leave him surprised as much as he was her, they really had both let their guards down tonight and neither of them was regretting that decision. They climbed in to Jubal's suv as he drove them to 26 Fed, they talked about how both of them had really enjoyed tonight, Maggie once again thanking Jubal for everything that he had done for them. They pulled in to the parking garage and Jubal looked around making sure it was quiet which it was at this time of night as he leaned over stealing a quick kiss.
"Thank you for letting me surprise you tonight Mags."
Maggie smiled as she watched Jubal, keeping her hands to herself at work and not kissing him was going to be hard "Thank you for a perfect second date, you just keep leaving me wanting more time with you."
"And as soon as this case is closed we will get that time, like you said neither of us are going anywhere and at least we can see each other at work."
Maggie smiled as she gave Jubal one final kiss before she climbed out of the SUV and they made their way towards the elevator, deciding to keep their hands to themselves so that they could get used to it for being in the JOC. They both knew it was going to be hard after having their hands on each other all night, both unaware that they both were a little scared at how much they were going struggle to keep their hands to themselves.
They made their way into JOC after Maggie had grabbed her jacket from her locker, OA was waiting in the JOC with coffee for everyone, no one thought twice about Jubal and Maggie walking into together as it was normal for the team to bump into each other in the parking garage and walk up together. OA smiled as he handed Maggie and Jubal their coffees.
"I thought that everyone could use proper coffee, not sure anyone would have gotten much sleep since getting home earlier today. I know I passed out not long after I got home but I still feel so dam tired."
Maggie smiled taking the coffee from OA "I actually got no sleep and for some reason I still don't feel exhausted, but I'll never refuse coffee from my favourite place." Maggie had to try hard not to look at Jubal as she smiled sipping her coffee.
Jubal smirked hearing Maggie as he thanked OA for his coffee, Isobel had called Jubal in to her office, when he was walking away he could OA asking Maggie how the hell she was still standing and looked full of energy. She told him that she guessed how she had spent her time had rejuvenated her, she glanced at Jubal who winked at her before he stepped into Isobel's office. Maggie shook her head smiling thankful that OA was busy talking to Kristen. Dam Jubal really did make her feel so alive and she honestly didn't feel exhausted, their date had given her so much energy. She couldn't stop as she ran her fingers along her lips and she looked into Isobel's office to see Jubal looking at her smiling, neither of them could believe that they had shared their first of what turned in to many kisses that night on their date.
Both were wanting to close this case to pick up where they had left off.
