—So, tomorrow is your birthday —Barry's voice came excitedly through Caitlin's phone.

For some reason, Barry was very anxious for Caitlin's birthday, since the month had come he kept counting the days until it would be here, this to Caitlin seemed funny but at the same time very cute, not even she that it was her birthday, was so excited.

So hearing her boyfriend repeat it just made her laugh.

—I know, you've been saying it all this time, although I'm curious as to why you're so excited.

She heard Barry laugh on the other side of the phone.

—Hey, there's nothing wrong I want to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, but if you want a reason it's just that I've prepared a surprise for you, that's why I think this year will be different.

Every year they spent it together at home, or with their friends, they rarely did anything to celebrate, and it wasn't because they didn't want to, sometimes they had to work late or something happened and they didn't get what they wanted, in the end they just wanted to be together, but the simple fact that Barry had something planned, then it meant that it was really important.

—Well you know as long as you're happy I'm happy too, so I'm already looking forward to tomorrow.

—Me too Cait, well I have to get back to work, I'll see you later at home.

—All right, I love you.

—I love you more.

After that call and a long day at work, they both went home, talked and had a quiet dinner.

The next day, Barry left before Caitlin woke up, he just said he wanted to get all the pending work done so he could be free for her and that he would text her to tell her the address of where they were going to meet.

At about 2 p.m., a text message arrived on Caitlin's phone.

"Meet me at 8 at the restaurant where we became a couple.

love you, Barry"

The time passed, it was almost eight o'clock at night but luckily for both of them, they were still busy, Barry had to attend a crime scene and Caitlin had an emergency surgery at the hospital, they had not been able to communicate.

9:30 p.m., Barry quickly to the restaurant and waited for Caitlin, luckily for her, she was still in surgery, until finally at 11 o'clock he managed to leave, he tried to call Barry, but he didn't answer.

When she finally made it to the restaurant, one of the waitresses told her that they had already closed, and when she asked her, she told her that the guy who was waiting for her had left.

Disappointed, she was about to go home, when she heard someone calling her, when she turned around she saw Barry waiting for her, with a smile on his face, she ran to him and hugged him.

—Barry, I'm really sorry, I had a last minute emergency and I couldn't leave, everything got complicated, I'm sorry.

—Hey it's okay, it's okay, let's just say I was a little late too.

—But dinner, you prepared everything, the surprise and it was ruined.

Barry broke away from her and looked at her.

—In fact the dinner was only part of the surprise, there's still more.

—What do you mean?

—You'll see, come with me —Barry took her by the hand and they left.

They arrived at a park near where they were, in the middle was a big beautiful tree, which was illuminated with white lights, around it were red and white roses, and a small table in front of them, everything looked beautiful.

They both stood under the tree.

—Well, wait for me here —Barry said, letting go of Caitlin's hand and walked away.

Caitlin waited, looking at the beautiful place where she was, suddenly she saw Barry come up to her with a cake in his hands.

—There was no dinner, but that doesn't mean you don't get your cake.

He put the cake on the table in front of Caitlin and lit the candles, then stood behind her and hugged her.

—Now you have to make a wish.

Caitlin placed her hands on his as he hugged her and looked at him.

—But first I want you to sing happy birthday to me.

—Do you want me to sing for you? Okay

Barry laughed and started singing in her ear.

—Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday Cait... Happy birthday to you...

Caitlin smiled, placed her palms together in front of her, closed her eyes.

"I wish Barry and me to be together for life."

She opened her eyes and blew out the candles on the cake.

—What wish did you make?

—I can't tell you because then it doesn't come true.

Barry just smiled and kissed her.

—There's something else I want to give you.

—What is it?

—I've actually been waiting a long time to give you this.

Barry pulled away from her and Caitlin turned around to face him.

—Cait, we've been together for three years, we've been through a lot, good and bad, when you're not with me I feel lost, if you're sad I'm sad, when you get sick I want to take care of you, when you smile I smile, I want to be with you whenever you need me, I want to protect you for the rest of your life.

Barry takes a small box out of his jacket and kneels in front of Caitlin. She places her hands on her chest, her tears begin to fall from her eyes as she looks up at Barry.

—Caitlin Snow, Will you let me be a part of your life forever?

Caitlin unable to stop her tears from the emotion, walks over to Barry and places her hands on his face.

—My wish has come true.

Barry smiles understanding what she is saying, takes Caitlin's hand and places the ring on her finger, he stands up.

—I love you very much, Cait.

—I love you too, Barry.

And so closing their promise of love, they kiss, hoping to be together for life and who knows, maybe their next birthday, another big surprise may come.
