Sally Lee Jackson, an American borne Korean woman, had been born from parents who had moved to America as young children to escape the instability of Korea after the Korean war. The war, as we all may know was quite a dark war, fueled by the hatred of communism on one side, and democracy on the other.

However, Sally's parents had died if the monthly raids led by the town gangs which left her orphaned, tired, hungry, dirty, and broken. She had managed to fend for herself, putting her sharp wit and sharp tongue to use.

Sally could easily be described as a beautiful woman, all according to the taste of the opposite party of course. Thick black hair that stood straight like soldiers at attention and beautiful hazel eyes rarely seen among the Korean community. Due to the constant running and odd jobs she did, her body had become fit and toned.

She had been living in places we would and could easily deem as unsuitable for people. Animal pens, broken and abandoned houses, worn-out shed, and even outhouses. But by far her favorite was by the sea, where the wind cooled her body and the sea had sung her lullabies. The sand that felt soft to her touch and to her, it felt more comfortable than any bed she had been able to test. The cold nights had chased away all visitors at night but she was immune to the cold which left her much time to sing to herself about hope and better days.

But today was different, the sea was raging and rain came falling from the heavens violently and even the ground shook under her. It wasn't a particularly strong earthquake but this could have easily led to something bigger and stronger.

"I should've stayed back at the barn," Sally cursed herself as the wind picked up.

The sky had been clear today and it confused her that the weather had suddenly changed so violently. She shivers under the combined forces of the downpour and the bone-chilling winds start to chill even her.

"Imagine there's no heaven,

It's easy if you try,

No hell below us,

Above us only sky,

Imagine all the people living for today,"

Almost as if the storm itself wanted to hear the lets up just a bit and the rumbling dies down. Her own voice energizes her and warms her calming her shivering body enough for the shakiness to leave her body. She clears her throat and continues singing. Eventually, the storm stops, and a warm breeze blows all around. The breeze calms her and saps all the coldness and moisture from her body. The gust slowly pushes her towards the ocean that splits leading her, coaxing her even, to keep walking ahead.

Out from the pathway walks a tall handsome man. Tan skin, sea-green/blue eyes, a slightly worn looking face that suited him well. His hair was a mess, but even that didn't detract from his figure but rather added upon it. He wore a suit and looked rather clean and sophisticated for a person who walked out of the sea.

Neptune was rather surprised that she didn't seem fazed that he had walked out of the sea and even stopped the storms for her and it really hurt his ego. Sally just shook this off more wondering why this man was here rather than how he got here. She had seen many many weird things that no one else seemed to see and eventually she grew to adapt to it rather than question it.

"If I offered you a new life away from here, would you take it?" He asked with a radiant smile.

Sally only looks at him strangely.

"Oh, uh, don't speak English?" He says with a nervous laugh. "Rúguǒ wǒ yuànyì-"

"Firstly, I speak English," Sally says with a laugh. "Secondly, I'm Korean, not Chinese. Thirdly, that was horrible Chinese."

Neptune guffaws and time seemed to stop for Sally. She had never caught the attention of many men other than weird drunk perverts and this was something truly new to her. Where this would lead her, not even she knew...
