This is our first story. (both Itachi and Sakura worshippers 8D) Sorry it took so long. Um well we wrote all the chapters but were releasing them slowly okay? :D this is rated M. You will see why. We will not continue unleashing chapter until we ge at least 10 reviews per chapter. WE DON'T OWN THE CHARACTERS OR NARUTO WERE JUST REALLY BIG NERDY FANS!
As for those who have read this story before or new to it. I have decided to re-write this. (See chapter 18 about this). All of it. I want to keep the intro's I had wrote before. Kind of just for myself, as a reminder of where I started. I will write on the top of each which ones have been re-written.
As always enjoy lovelies, and I do not own Naruto.
Black.
That is all that Sakura could see, was a dark abyss swallowing her whole slowly. No where to run and no one to turn to. She looked around frantically looking desperately for light, while looking around wildly in fear she felt a tug at her clothes.
Looking around with no one in sight her breathing quickened, and her heart thumped in her chest.
"who's there!" she screamed into the dark, just to have a response to be her own echo.
With her chakra now glowing a burning forest green, she threw her fists around to spread out the light. But it was no use, the dark seemed to go on for what felt like forever.
But she did not let the fear completely overtake her, as she pushed further into the dark. One shaky step at a time, pushing her hands around her the green chakra was creating a trail of light.
Each step further she sensed someone right behind her, but when she would turn to look it was nothing. Looking continuously over her shoulder and in front of her, she eventually lost her footing and came crashing into the ground.
The cold cement under her body was calming at first then sent chills up her spine.
"Where am I? "She huffed while gathering herself off the floor. There was no memory of where she was standing that she could recall into her mind. She wanted to scream into the dark but did not want to lose her head yet. Then it happened.
A person pressed against her from behind, the weight of them on her made her stomach turn. While their hand slowly slid up her throat. Grabbing at her esophagus roughly, whomever it was, was blocking her ability to breath. She trashed around, struggling against the strangers' strong hold. She threw her fists but did not land a hit. She reached for where their head would be and there was not anything to grab at. As if there was no one behind her.
The dark world she was in began to fade. And her with it.
Waking up in a cold sweat was nothing new lately. Just the Images in her head that had recently occurred. Sakura held the blanket close to her chest feeling as if she was clutching on to her sanity. She had read over her medic books and could not find a solution to her recent problem. She had been over worked but did not complain, it might have been the cause. Seeing all those people sick, or injured sometime killed her, most of the time it was her friends.
"That could be a reason" she had thought. She looked down at her pale callused hands and sighed.
"Water will help" She slipped out of her sheets and padded the floor to her bathroom. The fluorescent lights flickered on around her mirror. There in the mirror stood a girl of only 21 but the lack of sleep on her face made her look older. Her once bright green eyes that were full of youth were now dull, with dark circles swallowing whatever color that was left. Her, which was once soft pink hair was now long and untamed. She turned on the faucet and pushed a small squared glass under it. Once it was half full, she turned the faucet off, and let the cool liquid run down her throat to calm her nerves.
"Better" she threw her reflection a sarcastic smile and turned the lights off to return to her bedroom. She looked around her room standing in the bathroom door and heartache filled her chest. The walls were bear with no pictures, there was nothing but the bright orange that breathed life into the room. The color was called "Slice of Orange" but to her it was the color of fresh falling leaves.
Standing there in a daze she let her fingers exploring the wall. In hopes the color would breathe life back into her.
Her room at one point had multiple family portraits and pictures with her friends. But when you get older things change, and people change. Her father was the biggest death she had to face at first. That was when the first round of photos was removed. Then her friends started to die, that was the next round of pictures to come down. Eventually she took them all down. What was the point of falling asleep looking at all the people you lost or had betrayed you?
Almost frightened to move she let her hand drop from the wall and she moved across the room to her nightstand. She slowly opened the top drawer; a small picture frame was in there. Her once whole family in the photo. Her mother on her right and her father on her left, looking at their daughter so proud on the day she graduated the academy. It seemed like yesterday.
She picked up the photo with shaky hands and examined it further. Her mother stopped speaking shortly after her father died. It had been years since she talked to her mom, and they even lived in the same home.
She shut herself off to Sakura, which she thought it was because she reminded her mother to much of her father. They had the same hearty laugh, the same sea-foam green eyes, and the same sense of morals. If her mother ever needed anything or needed to say something to her, she left a note. That was all, and that is how it had been for years. Her eyes dropped from the picture to her alarm clock.
"Only 2:30..." She sighed and pushed the picture to the back of the drawer and slammed it shut. Her eyes lazily looked across the room to her window wide open and drapes flowing in the night breeze. Her skin went cold, and goosebumps ran up her spine.
"I didn't leave that open!" She hissed, and ran on her toes to the window then looking out of it. The city of Konoha was so boring at night only a handful of lights were still on. But who would open her window? Certainly not her mother she would have left a note.
She hesitated but closed the window slowly and locked it.
" I guess I did leave it open...These damn nightmares."
She turned on her heel and slowly walked back to her bed. Feeling the lingering sensation of the late-night breeze caressed against her skin. Staring at her messy sheets she sighed and threw herself down on to her mattress and let her nightmares claim her once again.
Staring at his prey intensely with blood red eyes, he gritted his teeth.
"At least I got here before Sasuke".
She had woken up sooner than he had planned. He had been in her room for mere seconds, but the girl woken up suddenly. Not even giving him the time to shut the window.
He watched her look around with worry swimming on her face, looking helpless at first. But what great ninja does not set up traps to keep intruders away or at least alert you? Especially a home with only women in it. He felt a smirk pull at the corner of lips as she blamed herself for the window, and as she locked it. As if a lock could keep him from his mission.
"Bring back the Hokages apprentice, alive and unharmed." Konans words rang in his ears. And he would do just that. Nothing more or especially nothing less. He continued to watch the girl until he sensed his partners chakra. He slowly stood up form his hidden perch and disappeared.
Once the sun crawled out from over the horizon he would be back. Regardless if he had to burn this city down, killing every single person, or drag her out by her hair. He would be back, and she would come, willingly or not. She would be taken.
Itachi wouldn't fail.
