The school dance.

An event on the more… romantic side of UA. Also, the perfect time to show your crush how amazing you are at dancing. Or in Katsuki's case, how fucking horrible you were at dancing. Thank gods Mina existed though because she had saved Katsuki's sorry ass.

Mina had taken time out of her busy schedule to teach 1-A (or as the rest of UA dubbed them: 1-abomination-at-aforementioned-activity) how to dance. Little did she know, this would be the biggest mistake of her life. 1-A may be one of the most promising hero classes, but they had zero talent in dancing.

That is when the most graceful swan came along. He danced like a professional. He was humble about his skills (that, or totally oblivious). The human they were talking about was Shouto Todoroki. He claimed he was in Mina's class because he wanted to brush up on his skills. In Katsuki's opinion, they needed no brushing up on, Shouto was already perfect at it. Katsuki was scared of what Shouto would be able to do if he was at full potential. Maybe if Shouto failed as a hero he could become a dancer.

Katsuki was taking a break after falling on his ass for the twentieth time that session. It had only been half an hour. He took a sip from his All Might themed water bottle. Izuku got it for him on his birthday.

Katsuki looked around. He saw Denki and Eijiro dancing together and stepping on each other's feet, Mina was screeching to them about form. They pouted cutely at her and she softened and told them to retry. Katsuki scoffed, weak. Not that he stood a chance against Eijiro and Denki's kitten eyes. Shouto patiently explained to Satou, Hagakure, and Hanta how to dance in terms that none of them knew. He could be teaching them how to cure cancer and none of them would know the difference. Well, maybe Mina.

That's when Shouto looked in his direction. His eyes lit up and he walked over to Katsuki. Shouto's eyes were so pretty.

"Katsuki! Would you like help with dancing?" Shouto said once he reached Katsuki. Shouto held out his hand for Katsuki to grab.

Katsuki accepted the hand, "Hah, why would I want your help, stupid Half-n-Half?!"

"Frankly, I don't know," Shouto said, avoiding eye contact. They were both standing upright and holding hands. Katsuki felt his cheeks warm a little. "Everyone keeps saying I'm amazing at dancing. Personally, I think my abilities are subpar."

Katsuki glared at him, "What are you talking about?! You are probably the best dancer I've ever seen!" As soon as the words slipped out of his mouth, Katsuki slapped a hand over his mouth. This wasn't like him!

Shouto giggled, "Well then, I suppose you do want my help. I think you need it too. You're about as graceful as a newborn deer on roller skates."

Katsuki's eyes glowed with rage, but he didn't deny it.

Katsuki accidentally caught eyes with Mina in his quest not to look Shouto in the eye. Mina's eyes filled with mischief then she smirked. Oh no. This definitely wasn't good.

"Alright everyone," Mina shouted. "We are going to practice ballroom dancing. Please partner up with the person nearest to you."

Katsuki, unfortunately, was currently holding hands with Shouto. Mina had planned this and there was no way Katsuki had a chance at getting a different partner.

Mina quickly grabbed Hagakure and the invisible girl squeaked in surprise. Eijiro and Denki were already dancing together previously so they were of course together. They were both currently laughing at Katsuki's misery. Traitors, Katsuki thought. The only two left were Satou and Hanta. They joined their hands without a fuss.

"Alright, this one should be pretty easy, but knowing you guys…" Mina trailed off. Then she coughed, "That's not the point. First, pick the leader. The leader will have to put their hand on the other's waist. The other hand will be holding their partner's hand poised in the air. Partner, with your free hand, position it on the leader's arm."

There were a lot of directions and it had Katsuki's head spinning. Thankfully, Shouto seemed to know what to do. He delicately put his hand on Katsuki's waist. He was so gentle. Katsuki had the sudden urge to kiss him on the cheek. Shouto's other hand placed Katsuki's hand on top of Shouto's arm. Katsuki grabbed hold. Shouto took the initiative to join their hands and hold them in the air. The way Shouto looked at him was full of love and sweetness. No one had ever looked at him this way. Suddenly, Katswas feeling like a Disney princess.

Mina looked over the pair's with a frown, "Most of you are doing well, considering you guys are complete failures at dancing." She looked at Shouto. "Except you, Shouto. You are good enough to go to the Olympics with your skill."

Shouto blushed and Katsuki suddenly felt jealous. He wanted to be the one to make Shouto blush.

Shouto said, "Really guys, I'm not that goo-"

Hanta said, "Shut up, Shouto. You're amazing."

Mina coughed, "Yes, as I was saying. This should be simple. Just step in a box-like shape each time someone says a number. Once you are used to that, move freely around the space. Just don't knock into each other. And… go!"

Shouto started due to Katsuki not knowing what the fuck was happening. Shouto tugged on his waist a little, signifying Katsuki should step forward.

There definitely was a reason class 1-A was class 1-abomination-at-aforementioned-activity. It showed at that moment. Katsuki fell face first into Shouto's chest. He was immediately hit with a face full of Shouto's wonderful scent. Katsuki didn't know whether this was the gods trying to embarrass him to death or blessing him because Katsuki would redo this moment fifty more times if Shouto suddenly didn't remember it. Katsuki kinda wanted to snuggle into the chest, but in order to maintain his dignity, he refrained from doing so.

As he moved away from heaven, Katsuki was sure his face was beat red. He looked up at Shouto. Shouto heterochromatic eyes were soft with amusement. A tiny blush was present on the alpha's handsome face. Shouto's small smile was probably the equivalent of pure joy.

They went back to dancing and Katsuki pointedly ignored the last few minutes pretending this was perfectly normal.

After five minutes went by without a hitch, Katsuki went to smirk at Racoon Eyes. Mina glared, then her face lit up with an idea. Well, fuck. This definitely wasn't Katsuki's brightest idea.

"Okay, class 1-abomination-at-aforementioned-activity dancing leaders, please dip your partners." Mina called out to them.

With a glint in Shouto's eyes and a smirk, Katsuki felt a hand inching up his back. Suddenly he was being maneuvered down and oh my gods what was happening. Shouto's face was so close. Too close. This was getting to be too much Katsuki's beating heart. He was starting to think Mina was trying to kill him.

Katsuki was scared his face was going to permanently stay red at this point because for the third time in ten minutes his face was lit aflame.

Before Katsuki's brain could catch up with himself, he was already going up. When his mind had registered what just happened, he was out of that class. It was time for his and Deku's sparring match. Normally, he would be overjoyed, but today, his mind was occupied by Shouto.

Shouto blushing. Shouto scent. Shouto's kindness. Shouto's smile. Shouto's playfulness. Shouto's dancing. Shouto's body. Shouto's eyes. Shouto's obliviousness. Shouto's humble nature. Shouto's gentleness. Shouto's hands.

Then he realized he loved all of these qualities. It was what made Shouto unique and wonderful. They were so endearing.

Then he understood all the blushing he had done today.

He liked the dazzling Shouto. And definitely not in a platonic way.
