A/N: Hello everyone! I think you are in for a treat! This is a brief two-shot project that originally started in July, but it felt more appropriate for Halloween! Strap in folks, it's going to be a wickedly fun time!

The following fic is rated T for:

Violence: mentions of blood, slashing, and death. Death is taken rather lightly here for humorous purposes, so I feel it's a bit much for a k plus story, but could be argued that it would work for k plus. Rated T to be safe.

Suggestive themes: N/A

Language: N/A

Note: Slightly out of character in areas. Intended for humor purposes.

Caspar had died. He just had to swing his axe the wrong way only to be slaughtered by a brigand. He should have used his gauntlets instead. What an idiot.

"Here lies Caspar," Byleth said, standing by his coffin. The other Black Eagle students as well as the rest of the Officer's Academy was there. Everyone had tissues in their hands, listening to the devotional the professor had prepared.

Dorothea dried a tear after blowing her nose loudly into her tissue, sobbing loudly. "He was a brother to me!"

Byleth stared at Dorothea with a vulture eye and continued the speech. "We will not forget his determined attitude toward training, his huge appetite, and his bravery, always charging into battle first."

"Hey… That kinda sounds like me," Raphael muttered. "I do all of that stuff…am I going to die soon?"

"What a minute!" Edelgard snapped. She dried whatever tears she had and crumpled up her tissue. "I just realized something. It's your fault he had died! You, as the teacher, should have let him not charge into battle first! But no! You let him do as he pleased! What do you have to say for yourself!?"

"Well, uh…"

"And you should have spared his life by choosing casual mode instead of classic you amateur tactician!"

Lindhart butted in. "Or at least reset the game. I would not have minded you do that," he shuddered. "Anything but seeing Caspar get drenched in blood."

"Is the professor having the ability to turn back time? Was it called the 'Divine Pulse'?" Petra shook her head. "I do not have understanding. Why did you not use it, Professor?

"Everyone! You are taking his death in vain," Professor replied. "Please, I know what I did wrong. That fight was ridiculously hard. If it wasn't him, could have been any of you…"

"Thank you, Professor," Lady Rhea pushed the mercenary out of the spotlight. "You did not do this funeral justice. I will fix that. Let us all have a moment of silence for our fallen comrade."

Once they bowed their heads and kept silent, Lady Rhea signaled the end of it. "Thank you. May The Goddess have mercy on his soul."

It was dark. And green. That's what Caspar noticed when he opened his eyes. He got up to see a relatively empty room with green floating dots. Caspar waved his hand to see if the green specs would move at his command. Apparently not.

No people, no noise, nothing. It was quiet, no food was available, and he saw no training dummies. He frowned in disappointment.

"Huh. This was not the afterlife I thought of."

He walked into what seemed like an infinite hall of darkness all alone. For sure, Caspar was going to go insane if he had to be alone forever in this abyss. Or at least, he thought he was alone.

He made it into a room with a throne. A sleeping girl with green hair sat upon it. While she looked super young, she happened to be as old as time. She also appeared to be super tired, and did not want to be disturbed.

Young, rude, and rambunctious Caspar didn't consider that. Instead, he woke her up. He just had to talk as loud as he possibly could. After all, It is just a dark and quiet abyss."Hello? Is anyone there?"

The girl rubbed her eyes and yawned the biggest yawn she could since the last century. Her eyes slowly opened to see a visitor who had just appeared on the scene.

"Oh," Sothis said sleepily. "I forgot that kool-aid haired kid was supposed to die today."

"What!? What's that!? My hair is very fine thank you very much!" Caspar steamed, acting as if he knew what kool-aid was.

Sothis chuckled. "Never mind that." She leaned forward. "While you did die, I have to tell you that you won't stay that way for too long."

"Excuse me!?" Caspar jumped. "How is that possible? I got slashed very hard!"

She got sassy with him. "Don't question what I know! You shall be dead for 48 hours and no more!"

"Why is that? Can't you just revive me now and spare the tears of my friends!?"

She laughed and then stated it plainly: "No."

"Why though!?"

"Because I said so."

He frowned. "Don't tell me this is punishment for something that I did," he cried. "Let's see...Is this because I put a little too much hot sauce in Leonie's dish yesterday? Or when I broke that expensive vase in the monastery?" He then got it. "It had to be when I drew on the Professor's face, right!?" Sothis had a disappointed face on her. "Oh come on, I was dared to do that!"

The little girl shook her head. "No, no, you're missing the point of all this! While what you did was bad, especially what you did to the poor professor, I have a favor to ask of you."

Caspar frowned. "Don't tell me this has to do with Seteth."

She ignored that statement. "I have to teach the Professor a lesson about using the Divine Pulse and not being foolish in battle."

"But all of that was my fault! If I didn't charge in first, none of this would have happened."

"Doesn't matter," Sothis replied. "I still have to teach the lesson. Also, I have a few errands that need running."

Caspar moaned. "I'm just going to be your bell boy for two days!? What did I do to deserve this!?"

"Well…You can pull all the pranks you want within those forty-eight hours once you get all of your work done," she smirked.

"But I thought you just said that my pranks were bad!"

"Changed my mind." The dragon-girl started to wave her little hands in the air. "Now, with my mermaid magic," she cleared her throat. "I mean, goddess magic, you shall become a ghost for forty-eight hours." She kept twinkling her hands in the air and nothing was happening. "Aw, for Naga's sake! I need you to close your eyes, Caspar, c'mon!"

"Oh, right! Sorry." Caspar closed his eyes tight.

Sothis furrowed her eyebrows and concentrated on her magic. She said some foreign words that could not be written here and voilà!

Caspar no longer was in his Officer's Academy outfit. He had his same head and face, but his body was completely white.

"What happened to the rest of my body?" Caspar asked in shock. He looked at his new form.

"Usually I make all the ghosts completely sheet white," Sothis replied. "But I like your face so I let you keep it."

"Uh...okay. So, what exactly do you need me to do?"
