Yo! Short chapter this week but a chapter all the same!
I saw this little kid at my school who had a Hamilton & Lafayette & Mulligan & Laurens & Aaron Burr, Sir shirt and I walked up to him and explained my obsession with Hamilton and he said "I know, I get it I'm the same. My friends complain all the time." and literally- I've never met like a sixth-grader boy who loves Hamilton that much like
Anyhoo, History Has Its Eyes on You, here we come.
Week 18 : History Has Its Eyes on You
I'm younger than you today
When I first received an assignment
I bled my men
I saw him die for the first time
I made every mistake, I felt ashamed
And to this day, I wake up unaware that history is taking me (wow, wow).
.
The story is raging against me (oh, oh, yes).
Tell me what I want to know
When I was young, I dreamed of fame
You have no control over who lives, who dies, who is your own story
.
I do not think we can win
I know the greatness is in you
But remember, the story is about you (oh, oh).
The story is up to you
"I do not think we can win" is like exactly the opposite of what Georgie said.
"who is your own story" ... that's got me thinking...
But... "History is taking me" if you think about it, imagine how much pressure Georgie Washingmachine had on him. I mean, he was the VERY FIRST president of this new baby country that built something from less than nothing. Like, crazy he had to set the example for everyone and if he felt confident, his people felt confident. If he felt scared, his people felt scared, he was their leader. EVERYONE looked up to him.
Anyhoo I like this song bc it follows around the truth of the war and the burden that was on Georgie and Hammie.
I rate it 7/10 (it was short)
See ya next week!
