Tears of Joy

"Hi!" Deeks greeted as he entered the room one evening, carrying two coffee cups, Monty's leash draped loosely over his arm. The dog trotted in beside him.

"Hi!" Kensi replied with a smile. Deeks coming to see her was always the best part of her day. "Ooh, did you bring me coffee?" she asked, eyeing the paper cups in his hands.

"Of course I did. It's decaf though, so you'll sleep tonight," Deeks confirmed, walking closer and passing one of the cups to her. Kensi grinned at him before taking a sip.

"Thank you," she said after setting the cup on the table by her bed. Deeks grinned, coming over to kiss her on the forehead. Kensi leaned into his loving touch.

"Deeks, will you stay tonight?" Kensi asked, a little bit pleading. She just wanted someone that night. She was tired of being by herself.

"Of course I will, baby," Deeks said readily as he sat down in the plastic visitor's chair beside her bed. "I'll just have one of the guys come pick up Monty."

Kensi nodded happily. At the sound of his name, Monty, who has been sitting obediently on the floor, perked up, trotting forward and jumping up on Kensi's bed. He immediately curled up on top of her feet. Kensi's eyes widened as Monty made himself comfortable.

"Deeks," she said, her voice low, surprised. She took a hitching, nervous breath.

"What, baby, what? Is he hurting you? I can move him!" Deeks replied quickly, a little frantic.

"No, Deeks, no, he's fine! I-I can feel him there! On my foot!" Kensi exclaimed, grinning widely.

"You can?!" Deeks exclaimed, springing up from his seat.

"Yeah!" Kensi exclaimed.

"Monty, down," Deeks told the dog, who obeyed and jumped off the bed. Deeks flipped up the blanket, revealing Kensi's bare feet. "Can you feel this?" He gently ran his finger over the sole of her right foot, like he had seen the doctor do with his reflex tool. Kensi twitched her foot at the feeling.

"Yeah, yeah, I can!" Kensi exclaimed. "Just a little bit, but I can feel it!" She grinned, laughing out loud as happy tears sprung to her eyes. Deeks grinned ear-to-ear, pulling Kensi's covers back. In one fluid motion he scooped Kensi up into his arms and spun her around happily. Kensi squealed joyfully, throwing her arms around his neck.

"See! See! All that therapy is paying off!" Deeks exclaimed, pressing their foreheads together, kissing her nose. Monty yipped happily, twining himself Deeks' leg. He jumped up and licked Kensi's toe.

"I felt that, Deeks! I felt him lick me!" Kensi proclaimed, tears of joy starting to stream down her cheeks. Deeks set her back down on the bed and bent over her, kissing her on the forehead, the nose, the cheek, then full on the mouth.

"Oh, baby," he murmured, tears brimming in his own eyes as he cupped her cheeks in his hand. "I'm so proud of you! So, so proud of you!"

"Thank you," Kensi said with a wide grin, leaning into his touch. Deeks used his thumbs to swipe away the happy tears. Deeks crawled up into the bed beside Kensi, and Monty leapt up next to them, curling up on top of their feet. Deeks gathered Kensi into his arms, and together they cried, cried tears of joy.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I needed a little happy fluffy drabble to cheer me up. I hope it cheered you up too. Also, I feel like they never really addressed Kensi getting her feeling back in her right leg, so I decided to add that in to my little story. Phnxgirl, your prompt is coming up next.
