Royal Woods is a dark place. It is synonymous with the word 'crime.' Lincoln Wayne is a child with eleven female butlers. His parents were shot in an alleyway after they saw a movie. He vowed to avenge their deaths wearing a metal suit resembling a flying mammal. The bat. He lurks around Royal Woods defeating criminals and scums as - Loudman.
Mob boss Chandler McCann sends his sociopathic second-in-command, Flip Flipton to raid Royal Woods Chemicals, unaware it is a set-up aimed at having him murdered for scamming his girlfriend, Stella. Although corrupt police lieutenant Smecksmart arranges the hit on Napier by conducting an unauthorized police operation, the mayor arrives, takes command, and orders officers to capture him alive. When Loudman arrives to prevent Flipton's escape, Smecksmart is killed during the confrontation, while Flipton himself falls into a vat of chemicals when attempting to attack Loudman, and is presumed dead by all. However, Flipton survives, but is left disfigured with chalk white skin, emerald green hair, and arictus grin, resulting in him being driven insane and assuming the name of the Laugher. Laugher murders McCann for betraying him, takes over his criminal empire by murdering his syndicate members, and scars Stella's face to equal his disfigurement.
Flipton makes evil hygiene products using a chemical called Laughix, killing people all over Royal Woods. Flipton attacks the museum where Ronni Santivale is waiting for Lincoln. Loudman saves Ronni and drives her to his lair, the Loud Cave, in the Loud Mobile. Lincoln later remembers who killed his parents - Flipton. Flipton takes a float to the Royal Woods 200th parade. The float almost gasses everybody at the parade with Laughix. Batman foils his plan by using hisLoudwing to remove the balloons. Laugher proceeds to shoot down the Loudwing, before capturing Ronni and taking her into a cathedral. Loudman, surviving the crash, confronts him, saving Ronni, while proceeding to prevent Laugher's escape by helicopter with a heavy granitegargoyle, causing him to fall to his death.
Later, the mayor of Royal Woods unveils the Loud Signal. As Lincoln's butlers pick up Ronni, they tell him that Lincoln will be a little late. Loudman looks up into the Loud Signal in the sky.
