"please mommy don't go."

A little girl in a hoodie cried as she sat next to her dying mother in a hospital bed. The little girl reached out a shaking hand and grabbed her mothers tightly as her mother smiled back at her. "its OK baby. mommy promised you to she's gonna take you to get ice-cream remember?"

The little girl nodded as she wiped away a tear and smiled brightly at her mother"y-yeah." The mother slipped her hand from the girls grasp and caressed her cheek "the doctors are gonna help mommy and when we leave we can go and get whatever you want." The girl laughed and her father raised his head and looked at the mother and they smiled to each other. YThe father stood up with tears in his eyes and picked up the girl as a doctor came in

"i'm sorry sir, you and your daughter have to leave" The father nodded and set down the girl before walking to his wife and kissing her. He smiled and whispered something to her the girl could not hear. the father picked up the girl and as they left the room the girl waved goodbye to her mother with a promise of ice-cream. But as they left her sleeve on her hoodie slid down and revealed what looked like large scabs on her arm

An hour later the father was sitting with his daughter as she played with some toys, chuckling as she looked up every now and then to make sure he was listening to the story she was telling him. A doctor walked up to them and the father stood up and told the girl to wait outside. The girl watched through a window as the doctor talked to her father, shaking her head and the father opened his mouth and fell to his knees as the girl heard a faint scream.

The ride hope was quiet, though every once in a while she would ask where mommy was and the father would yell at her to keep quit and the girl complied. when they got home her father just sat on the couch crying. The girl tried to comfort her father and he grabbed her and hugged her tightly, they spent the rest of the day watching TV

A couple days later the father got a letter and the girl watched as he read it, his hands shaking. The father put the letter down on the kitchen table and grabbed a bottle. He then looked over at the girl and she started to cry as he looked angry. He walked over and slapped her across the face, making the girl cry before he yelled at her and sat down then she went quite. That was the fist time he hit her.

Several years later and nothing had changed from that night, the father continued to drink and hit the girl and she had learned not to cry. Until one day the father went to far.
