LOVE THAT HAS BEEN LOST CHAPTER 10

Richard is in his office doing paperworks for the hospital when he hear his phone ring and it's Patricia his assistant informing him he has a call in line 2
"Thank you Patricia" he pressed line 2 "Richard Webber"
"Richard, it's Captain" Richard was stunned when he realized it was Addison's father. When he heard the news about Addison he was devastated both him and his wife Adele, Addison was like their child same comes with Derek but they're more close to Addison his her favorite out of all the interns that he handled. He moved on he wasn't spacing out thinking about how Addie and Derek were troublemakers when they were interns, but now hearing Addison's father calling him he has no idea what he wants
"Hello, what can I do for you?"
"Can you fly here in L.A so we can talk in person there are things I want to discuss with you"
He thought about it "I'll check my schedule but may I know why?"
There are silence in the other line "don't tell anyone especially to Derek this is between you and me" Captain said with a threatening voice "it's about Addison. She- she's alive and she has amnesia" when he heard that she's alive he didn't know what to feel whether to be happy, excited, freakout and then it hit him "Derek" he didn't realized he said it out loud
"Don't tell him Richard"
"But Alexander his in a relationship with him he has the right to know. He's devastated right now" yes he called the Captain by his real name. The two are close because Richard is like a second father to Addison and the Captain appreciate it he treat her like his own daughter. No one knew other than the Montgomery's and him what the Captain's real name is, people around just call him Captain.
"I don't care Richard, please don't tell him about her" Captain begged. That's a shock to everyone even to Richard he knows the man for so long and Alexander "Captain" Montgomery never beg. Richard only sigh and agree
"How is she?" Richard asked full of concern
"She's okay, she's living here in L.A" snort sound came from Richard and they both know Addison isn't fan of L.A she hates the heat and she's a White Christmas kind of girl
"I know. I tried to talk her to comeback in Connecticut, but you know her she's stubborn and she won't change her mind"
"She won't be Addie if she weren't right" the both laugh they talk a little longer then schedule the time of his arrival and bid there goodbyes. He stayed in his office to finish his work and got page in the E.R.
He look around and he saw Derek he looks miserable but trying his best to do his job.
"Chief we need you here" an inter called him and he went and check the patient that needs a surgery immediately.
Few hours have passed and he's out of surgery and so is the patient he instructed the intern to monitor the patient and page him if something changes. As walking out of scrub room he saw Derek standing in a corner looking at his coffee cup. Richard is worried about him, he knows telling him about Addison will make him better but he also don't want to break a promise to his old friend and doesn't want Addison to be overwhelmed about information in her life for the past 10 years or so. He went up to him
"Derek come with me" Derek look up and followed him in an empty gallery. They both sit down and stayed in silent for awhile
"How are you Derek?"
Derek snort "like you have to ask Richard, isn't it obvious?"
Richard looked at him and he starts crying "I miss her Richard, every time I closed my eyes I see her, I hear her laugh, and those smart remarks she mades to put me, you, Mark and everyone in place. I was happy because I see her, but when I open my eyes all I can see is an empty trailer" he continue to cry until he started laughing Richard looked at him as if he's crazy
"I was thinking if she live in my trailer now"
"She would have hate it" both of them said it at the same time and both of them laugh
"Yeah she would have, she would also blow it up" they continue to laugh and realize the words "would have" is like a punch in their stomach. She was declared dead after 1 year of searching, though now Richard knew that she wasn't dead but cannot tell Derek soon the room filled with silence again till Derek's pager went off he stands up and about to walk out the door when he heard Richard "she's safe now" he didn't put much thought of it so he shrug it of.
Few weeks have passed and now Richard is standing in LAX airport waiting for his luggages as he pick them up when a man come near him he looks like a butler
"Excuse me sir, are you Dr. Richard Webber?"
"Yes, you are?"
"I'm Jospeh, Dr. Montgomery instructed me to pick you up, his waiting for you" Richard nod and the butler carried his luggages and went to the car. As they drove through the City to looks like a beach house, they stop in a drive way he get out of the car, when Captain went outside to welcome him
"Richard long time no see" as the man hug
"Yeah"
"How have you been?"
"Getting old" they both laugh and went inside. He look around, it's simple like a warm and cozy home not like Addison though
"She became simple" Captain said Richard nod "what do you want? Beer? Scutch?" As Captain went to the kitchen
"I'm good"
"Well Webber since when did you turn down drinks?" Captain said in a smug face
"Shut up. So where's Addie?"
"She went out with his boyfriend"
"Addison have a boyfriend?"
"Yeah"
Richard look at him in a questionable look "and you approve him?" Captain nod
"He's a good man, of course we gave him a hard time just like Derek even worse than Derek but this boy he's different from Derek. When we got a call from the hospital where Addie was admitted he's the one who informed us about her condition and Addison told us that his been there with her everyday takes care of her. She's happy with him"
"You haven't seen her that happy with Derek? Because Addison and Derek have been together since med school that's a long time Alex." Captain shook his head
"Don't get me wrong Derek, his nice I've seen it. And within their relationship maybe they've been happy but he isn't the one for her"
"You think he is" Captain shrugs when they hear the front door open and Addison and Jake came through they stop laughing and saw unfamiliar at the same time familiar face.
"Captain" went closer to him, he kissed the top of her head. Even though she's a young woman she's always his kitten his little girl
"Kitten" Addison glared at him. Captain cough with the way his daughter look Richard laugh as he watch them "stop looking like that you're scaring people" Addison rolled her eyes "Addie, Jake this is Dr. Richard Webber from Seattle. You might not remember him but he was your mentor before when you're an intern" Jake and Addison smile and hand her hand out to shake hands but Richard pulled her to a hug. He missed her.
Addison who are in shock but hug him back she felt that this isn't the first time she hug this man. She felt this man is special like what she felt with Captain, a father daughter relationship. When they let go there's a tear on Richard's face
"I'm sorry"
"It's ok" she smiled at him. Even though Addison lost her memory but her smile is still the same as he remembered.
The night went well the catch up, Addison told Richard about her new life now and they avoid the part where Addison didn't remember. They arranged also a study lesson for Addie so she can claim her degree and contusion practicing medicine
After almost a year and a half Addison claimed her tittle as DR. ADDISON FORBES MONTGOMERY is a double board-certified OB/GYN, specialized in MFM/Fetal surgery and one of the foremost neonatal surgeon in the country.
