LOVE THAT HAS BEEN LOST CHAPTER 12
A few weeks have passed since Addison started working at Seattle Grace Hospital. Derek was a wreck for the past few weeks more worst than before and he doesn't know who to talk to because Mark is still in New York and he is still pissed at Richard, he can't talk to Meredith she still doesn't know the Addison in his past is the Addison working with them.
"Shit Meredith," he said to himself.
Since Addison came back his been living in his trailer looking at those pictures that he hasn't seen since he married Meredith. Now he remembered he hasn't seen Meredith for so long all he ever think about was Addison, he get up to take a bath, get his clothes on, and went to work. When he arrives at the hospital he wants to talk to Meredith to ask how is she when he got paged in the E.R, he sigh and went anyway.
When he got to the E.R Alex called him "Dr. Shepherd" he walk over to them the patient's pregnant that means he's gonna work with Addison "I already page Dr. Montgomery" as if Alex read his mind and minutes later Addison arrived
"Fill me in Karev," Addison asked she didn't notice that Derek was there staring at her. Alex see him and smirk at McDreamy I mean he can't blame him the She-Reily is hot and beautiful
"Jessica Robins, 29, 24 weeks hypersensitivity to touch"
"Ok Mrs. Robins I'm Dr. Montgomery, I'm gonna check the baby it will take a minute can you handle that?" She asks the patient to just nod when she put on some gel she screams a little "hold on" Addison focuses her attention on the monitor "ok nothing wrong with the baby. How long have you had this feeling?"
"About three months arghhh"
"Any other symptoms?"
"Lately It's hard to breathe and swallowing"
Hearing the patient's symptoms Derek snap out and start talking "Karev take her to CT" Addison is in shock to hear the doctor
"Ok Dr. Shepherd"
"Dr. Shepherd, you're here" Addison sound confused Karev laugh and takes the patient to examine "since when did you arrive?"
"I got here first thank you, you just walk straight to the ultrasound machine," he said in an annoyed tone. He started to walk away to go change at the attending's lounge, he couldn't believe that he had just snapped at her
"Ok, that was weird" Addison just let it go "maybe he's not in the mood, he looks like he's tired anyway," she thought and went to check her patients.
Derek who is going to the CT exam room when he bump with Meredith "Mer" started "how are you?"
"You remembered me," she said in a sarcastic tone
"I'm sorry, I wasn't been myself lately" he look at her with an apologetic look
"What's going on with you? Talk to me Derek" he can't form a word and his beeper went off he looked down and the scans are ready
"It's my patient Ahm we'll talk later ok" kiss her head and walk away
"I guess I'll tell him next time. Wait a little longer buddy" as she touches her abdomen
Derek arrives at the exam room he sees that Addison is already in there waiting.
"Hey" She look at him and smile then look back at the scans, he was shocked she wasn't mad because he snap at her earlier
"Hi" then he sat down waiting for the scans to load. He felt awkward, he wanted to apologize for earlier
"Don't feel awkward Dr. Shepherd, and it was ok about earlier I know you're tired" Derek look at her
"Why did you think I'm tired?" He asked flashing his McDreamy smile. She cringes when she sees it
"Dr. Shepherd doesn't flash that smile haha it's weird. And you seem like you haven't slept in days and you haven't shaved"
"Ohh Yeah haven't been able to sleep this past few weeks" diverting his eyes
"Wanna talk about it?" The concern is evident in her voice
Derek wishes she could stop asking him about what's bothering him because it's about her then the scans appears they focus on the scans.
"She has a malformation in her skull that causes the hypersensitivity"
"What are their option?"
"Well, what I do best. Cut" he winks at her
"God complex I see Dr. Shepherd," she said they both laugh and went to the patient's room
"Mrs. Robins we found that you have a malformation in your skull that pushed the part of your brain that causes your pain" as Derek explained
"What is your treatment?" Mr. Robins said
"I would operate and take it out"
"Would it harm the baby?" The husband asks
"It's not a difficult procedure but there is no guarantee that's why Dr. Montgomery will be there to make sure everything's fine with Jessica and the baby," Derek said and Addison nodded give Jessica a comforting look
"How soon can we do it?" Jessica said while aching the pain
"This evening" they both nodded and walk out of the patient's room "Dr. Karev book an O.R for this evening and do a pre-op you're scrubbing in" Derek instructed while Addison update the patient's chart
Now they're alone he can talk to her and ask about her life make her remember him
"So how's life, Dr. Montgomery?"
"It's good, tiring but good"
"Where did you go to med school?"
"I don't remember but Richard told me that I went to Columbia" she looks at Derek "oh I have amnesia 10 years ago" Derek just nod pretend he doesn't already know
"You haven't remembered anything other than medicine?"
"Yeah pretty much. It was unexplainable as my doctor said all the knowledge came back to my memories but the experience when I was in med school doesn't" a long pause of silence while she finishes charting then she continues "but to be honest I don't want to remember it" give him the chart
Derek was shocked at what she said. "She doesn't want to remember! I was in those memories! Why she doesn't want to remember that?! Have I done something to upset her this bad?!" Thinking of it makes him angry and sad and upset but he kept himself calm he'll freakout later
"Why didn't you want to remember? I mean I'm sure during those times a lot of people cared about you and loved you" he said
"Because I'm happy where I am now I have a family of my own. Remembering it will only make my life complicated I can feel it" Derek was speechless upon hearing to the person he thought the love of his life, it makes him want to cry, shout at her like "I'm the person you're supposed to marry!"
"Mommy" they heard a small voice
"Hey baby" Addison pick up Henry "you remember Dr. Shepherd" Henry nodded
"Hi"
"Hello" Derek reply
"Where is your father why are you roaming around?" As she asked they saw Jake running
"Squirt doesn't run off like that" saying out of breath Addison laughed at her husband
"Honey I think you need to get to the gym" she kissed him and Derek see all the interactions and it hurt him. It was supposed to be him loving her, having children with her.
"Are you guys hungry?" Jake ask "cause I ordered sushi"
"I'm hungry," both Henry and Addison said
"Men wanna join us?" Jake ask Derek
Derek shook his head "next time I have to check on a patient but thanks though and enjoy your meal" as he said walking away from them when he turned in the corner he entered the stairs and went to the rooftop there where he shouted, release all his frustration, angriness and the envy of Jake being in his place. After that, all he can do was cry, cry about how he can't have her anymore
He avoided Addison, Jake practically anyone related to Addison. He was doing a good job till it's time for Jessica's operation, he enter the scrub room and found Addison preparing to scrub in they look at each other Addison smiled at him but he didn't smile back when he finished he scrubbed in. All the people in the O.R including Addison feel that Derek wasn't in a good mood
"though he was ok this morning," Addison thought to herself but focus her attention on the baby monitor, they can feel the tension all of them looking at each other.
When the operation is done Derek quickly wash his hands and when he saw Addison is about to scrub out he exited the scrub room. Addison just let it go again, that man makes her confused one minute he's nice, and next thing he pissed off like a girl when they have their period
When she exited the scrub room she saw Jake talking to a patient's family she smile and walk to the nurse's station waiting for him to finish. And when he did he saw his beautiful wife and kissed her in the middle of the hallway so that people who are interested in her knows that she's his, he is aware that most men in this hospital are interested in her whether the interns, doctors, even patient's relatives or husbands even.
"It became your habit to kiss me in hallways people can see" as they pulled away
"I'm just showing people that you are mine and they can never have you," he said possessively
"I love it when you're jealous" started walking towards his office
"Well I have the most beautiful woman in the world that everyone is checking out I have the right"
"Flattery will get you nowhere Dr," she said in a seductive tone when they were near his door. By the way, she said it he pulled her inside the room. Derek who saw it all wanted to come over there and kill the man but then he can't because he had no right lost in his thoughts he didn't realize Meredith was In front of him.
"Derek!"
"What?!" He said with annoyance
"What the hell is your problem?!" Meredith said in the same tone as he is
"Nothing, by the way, I'll be staying at the trailer tonight" then stormed away.
"Tomorrow" touch her abdomen
