Now...

A sunny day at Jump City's central park. A park filled with people enjoying a beautiful afternoon.

Today is such a beautiful afternoon where birds happily sing in the air. So beautiful that it makes the residents of Jump City come out from their house and do outdoor activities: Such as Frisbee-throwing and kite-flying. However, the most popular outdoor activity to do is having a picnic, under the bright sun. This is not a strange thing for the local vigilantes to participate in it. Because after all, they need to take their sweet long break from fighting crimes. Do not misunderstand their young appearances and the group name that has the word "Teen". They can surely kick criminals butts no matter how tough the enemies are. Much like Superman and Batman do in their home town, Metropolis and Gotham respectively.

"Mmm-mmm. Would you look at that," said the blue mechanic who was smelling the fresh air, "A little sunshine, a little breeze. Only one thing could make this day even better..." He looked down at the barbeque grill as he gently bought out a lump of delicious grilled meat. " Four and a half pounds of baby back ribs~!" He placed the meat on the plate and went to the picnic table where Robinーthe leader of the groupーis digging into his beef burger. "Man I love picnic barbeque!" He began to chow down the meat like a caveman which encouraged Robin to match that effort with the beef burger: burying his face with a huge mouthful of meat.

On their opposite side, Starfire is heartily sucking something down through a straw. A type of "beverage " that normal people would not dare to have. "Agreed, Cyborg." She slurps happily. "This tiny yellow beverage is truly delightful." The two boys stopped their mouths when they see what she was drinking. They looked surprised as they hung down their mouth.

"Ummm...Starfire?"

"Yes, friend Cyborg?"

"You know that's..."

"...mustard. Right?"

After hearing Robin's reply, she hugged the container to show she loves it a lot...as a drink. "Is there more?" She asked. The two were speechless as they cannot tear their eyes away from the scene. Their food sits forgotten in their hands, making a shred of meat falling from Cyborg's face in the stillness. Seeing their innocent alien friend drinking mustard out of the container with delight is one thing they will not forget for the rest of their life. Ever. While that happens, Beast Boy appeared from the tree as a monkey. He used his tails to grab the tree branch as he lowered himself to the grill. When he gets within reach of the grill, he turned back in human form and picks up two hot dogs which are made of soya bean paste.

"Sweet!" cried Beast Boy "My tofu dogs are cooked to perfection." He then looked at Raven who was sitting under the tree. "Yo, Raven Try one. They're filled with soyabeany goodness."

Raven looked at him and replied with her usual emotionless monotone "I respect that you don't eat meat. Please respect that I don't eat fake meat." So the vegetarian Titan proceeds to swallow both tofu dogs down at once. After they have eaten their lunch, Cyborg grabbed his football and ran to the open grass. It seemed that Raven already had her lunch; whatever it is.

"All right, y'all! Who wants to play some fool-ball?" Instead of "football", he calls it "fool-ball". He named it this way because it is a type of football game that anyone can enjoy without getting hurt. After all, they didn't bring their protection gear nor have it back at their home. So, the three Titans; Robin, Beast Boy, and Starfire all run over to their half-robot friend, clamoring to get into the game. They looked back at Raven wondering if she too gonna join the game with them. However, she didn't move from her spot in inch as she just replied to them by giving a glance. "I'll be a referee."

After deciding who is gonna do the offense and the defense, they began to have a match when Cyborg placed the ball on the grass. Robin started the hike as well as Beast Boy and Starfire got into the block position.

"Red! Twenty-three! Hut! Hut! Hut!" When Robin pulled the ball to bring it up high as he said the last "hut", Cyborg then runs past the defensive line. Beast Boy stands in front of the Robin while Starfire goes after the running Titan. Beast Boy who is still in the defensive position is giving the boy wonder the pressure to not pass the ball to Cyborg. He began to count by using Gotham city. "One Gotham city...Two Gotham city...Three Gotham city"

While that happens, Cyborg is doing his best to run further than Starfire who is flying in mid-air. "You can run, you can fly, but you can't catch Cy!"

"Oh yes, I will!" Starfire said as she tries to gain on him.

"...Four Gotham city...Five Gotham City!" Backing up to throw a pass to his teammates, Robin yelled in sudden fear when the ground shakes. It is because Beast Boy turned into a rhinoceros, charging towards the leader. The Boy wonder skipped backward, then jumped onto the green behemoth's snout as he runs straight down the enormous back. He used the rhinoceros' back as a jumping stand so he could deliver a clear pass downfield so Cyborg could get it.

Cyborg is still on the run. He noticed the ball's shadow when he looked at the ground. He faced his head up and got ready to catch the falling ball. "I got it! I got it!" He yelled it enthusiastically. His arms are already in the position to receive the ball as he reaches out. But too bad for him when Starfire intercepted his catch as she flew above his head. She gracefully holds the ball into her arms and slowly landed down on the ground. She brought it up high to show her teammate, Beast Boy to let him know that she got it. He saw his fellow alien friend got the ball. And happily jumped as he cheered for her. "Way the go Starfire!"

Starfire waved to him with a smile. "Thank you Beast Boy."

"Ohh man!" cried out Cyborg, "I was so close to getting it!"

Robin ran to his side and reassured him that they can do the same thing. "Don't worry, Cyborg. "We can win it, Cyborg." Encouraged by his fellow teammate, Cyborg nodded to him with confidence. Later on, Beast Boy went to Starfire's side to get ready for the Hike. Robin and Cyborg followed pursuit by bending down on their knees, forming up their defensive line. Beast Boy began the Hike.

"Red! Twenty-one! Hut! Hut! Hut!" Starfire hikes it back as she runs pasted the defensive line. She soon flew from the ground which was followed by a running Titan, Cyborg. Robin tries to keep Beast Boy busy like how the green mutant did to himself.

"Think you can throw higher than me Beast Boy?" He taunted by giving a smirk smile. Beast Boy took the challenge when he saw the smile. He smiled devilishly as he gest ready to throw a pass. "Oh yes, I can Robin. Watch this!" He transformed into a gorilla and used this giant ape's mighty primal strength to throw further than Robin's throw. It flew like a rocket! Cutting throws the air. Starfire saw the incoming ball as she gest ready to catch it. But it flew so fast that she unintentionally dodged it away. Avoiding to get the pain. The ball flew over the cliff and landed it somewhere on the foreshore. The foreshore is below the cliff so they have to slide down there before the ball flows away into the ocean by a wave.

Beast Boy turned back into a human and sweat coldly when he realized he threw it too hard. "Oops. my bad guys."

"That's okay Beast Boy," said Robin "we just go and get it so we can continue the game. So come one." The Titans including Raven all followed behind Robin's back as they suspended the game. They hope the ball is still there, being covered by sand.

As they slide down the cliff, they began to search for the ball. At first, they couldn't find the ball no matter how they tried. But, it only took a few ten minutes to find it, when Starfire finally located the ball. "I found it friends!" she called. The other titans all heard her cry and they run towards the place where she found it. Before her friends come over to her side, Starfire picked the ball up and wiped off the sand dust with her hand. "There. Much better." She happily said as she brought up a cute smile.

But when she was about to group up with her friends on the opposite side, she felt something hard at the moment she took her first step. She looked it down and saw one big metallic debris being buried underneath the shore. Wondering what is she stepping on the foreshore, she went down on her to take a close look. She put the ball underneath her arm so she could pull the metal scrap out from the blanket of sand. She wiped it off to see what it is and notices that the scrap has the size of a small window that could fit perfectly as a car window. And even more, in the middle of the object, it has a red-colored logo that has a claw looking mark. She has never seen it before but somehow find it menacing by looking at it. Maybe it because it is such a simple design, it kinda triggered the people's fear reactor easily.

What is this? She tilted her head, Some kind of...flying object thing? Trying to give in her thoughts to know what it is, her friends have just come.

"You got the ball, Starfire?" Robin asked. But when he notices that she was not paying attention to his question, he asked her again to know what she was looking at. "Starfire? What are you looking at?"

Starfire snapped out of her thinking time when she heard Robin's voice. "Oh, Robin. Sorry I wasn't paying attention. I was looking at this." She showed it to her friends and they all had the same expression: a questioning look.

"Hmm...what is this?"

"I don't know BB. It's like a...mark to me," answered Cyborg as he shrugged his shoulder to his best friend.

"Where did you find it Starfire?"

"I found it when I stepped on it. I picked it up to see what it was but I could not tell what this object is." She answered as she pointed at the spot where she picked it up. Hearing from Starfire's reply, Robin thought that this scrap could be some garbage where people illegal throw on the shore. When he was about to say it to his teammates, Raven walked further away from the group and called everyone's attention as she pointed over the crash site that has a trace of metal scraps.

"Maybe it came from there..."

They all looked at it and were amazed to see a big spacecraft crashed at the end of the foreshore. Except for Raven since she can not express her emotion openly. They have never received any reports about the crash site nearby so it was new for them to see it firsthand. Robin looked at his teammates and ordered them to approach carefully at the spacecraft. "Titans. We better investigate that spacecraft with caution. We need to know what made it crush into this neighborhood. If there is a survivor in that plane, recuse it. But be alert if it's hostile." They all nodded as they brought up their fighting stance to get ready for any surprise attack. Robin drew his metal staff, Cyborg brought his sonic cannon, Raven glowed both of hands with magic, Starfire lightens up her star bolts, and Beast Boy turned into a dog. To sniff around the scene.

They took careful steps as they approach the ship. The spacecraft has this broad t-shaped body that has a cockpit in the middle. It is colored in white but has a few paints of blue color on each wing. It also has two canons in the middle which supposedly could fire laser bolts from it. As they step nearer to the light blue colored cockpit, Beast Boy hopped on around it to sniff if there is someone inside the pilot seat. He sniffed it for a few seconds then stopped it when he got the answer. He could see the unconscious pilot through the cockpit view. He couldn't see the face but can clearly tell that the pilot is not moving. He turned back to his human form and looked back to his friend by pointing his finger to the steering that there is someone there on the ship.

"I can see the pilot but is not moving!" He loudly said. Robin gave a nod to his green mutant as he gives orders to Cyborg to open it up.

"Okay, Beast Boy! Cyborg! Get him out!

Cyborg used his other arm to bring out a small-sized burner to open it up. "On it," he replied. It took him a few minutes to cut the cockpit open as it seems to be some type of hard metal that takes a long to open. After being patience to do so, he used both of his default hands to rip it open. When they see the pilot, he was a male. Due to the distinctive well-built body shape. He was wearing a black colored helmet that has a T-shaped visor in the middle. Around the visor has a blue cloured stripe and two grey colored paint on both cheeks. His armor is mostly clad in black but his four limbs have a darker blue color. From the looks of his feature, it seems that he belongs to an organization when they see an army rank on his right chest. It has two color red lines which could probably mean he is somewhat around the officer ranking. Or he could be a soldier who has a higher ranking than a private. How could the Titans tell, they just guessed from their experience with a criminal group that consists of veterans from every different nation army.

After looking at his outlook, Robin went to the pilot and touched his neck to find any pulse. He alive but it is very weak. "He is still alive! Let's bring back him to our tower!" And they gently carried the pilot to their base safety to patch him up.

At the titans' tower, the pilot is being placed on the bed. He got his armor and helmet removed by Cyborg as the mechanic goes to patch up with medkits. When the Titans see the pilot's face, they first notice his hair. He has short light orange-colored hair that matched well with his fair skin. He even has this Northern European look due to the distinctive sharp-edged nose and the defined chin and cheekbones. It kinda makes them think that he is sort of a royal member. An aristocrat or something.

After doing some immediate first aid to him, the titans all waited for him to wake. So few ten minutes have passed and the pilot slowly opened his eyes as he began to glance through the room. Starfire was the first one to notice it as she was sitting near the pilot.

"Ahh! You are awake," She happily said "Friends! The pilot is awake!" The other four all went to her side when they heard her saying. Robin was the last to come and he was also glad to see that the patient is conscious.

"I'm glad you are okay now," he said.

The pilot looked at him strangely and opened his mouth slowly. "W-who are you...? Where am I?"

"I'm Robin. The leader of the Teen Titans. These are my friends. Cyborg, Beast Boy, Starfire, and Raven. We found you in a crash site at the foreshore." he replied.

"Crashed...?" he quietly said.

"You don't remember how you got here?"

"No. All I remember was...Ow!" He tries to sit up but felt the sudden pains in his chest. Cyborg brought his hands to make the pilot lay down on the bed.

"Wow easy there buddy. Just healed you up not a long time ago. Better take some rest to recoup your strength."

"I see. Thank you...Cyborg."

"Your welcome." He replied with a warming smile.

"So what's your name?" Robin asked.

The pilot looked at Robin and wondered if he should say his full name or not. But it will be rude to not let them know who he is since they helped him out from the crash. So he just replied to them with his first name only. "I'm...Greem. Just Greem."

"So Greem. Do you mind tell us why happened to you?"

He didn't want to tell his whole story to them as there is a reason why he left his home planet. But again, it is impolite to not answer it. So he explained to the heroes by telling the story of which is full of lies. Lies that are convincing enough for them to believe. "I was...protecting the civilians on my planet. And...was trying to evacuate them away from the battle that...killed millions of them. When I was...protecting the ship that is full of civilians...my plane got hit by the enemies' fire and...I don't remember what happened next..."

Starfire gasped and felt sorry for Greem and his people who were involved in the war. She too experienced such a horrible fight when she was young, on her home planet Tamara. When she was walking around the royal garden to look at flowers as a kid, the Gordanians had arrived above the sky and began the attack on her hometown. After the invasion, The invaders enslaved the sentients and forced the Tamarans to work as their slaves in their prison ship. Even to Starfire. But Starfire was forced to be a gladiator to entertain the invaders. She did not like it at all and hoped one day that she will be free from their evil rule. Her hope was fulfilled when sheーlike Greemーlanded on planet earth. She got help from the local people and was able to defeat the Gordanians. Including their leader Trogaar. Those local people who helped her later became her close friends. Robin, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven. It was at that moment that she is finally free from the invaders. But still suffer from time to time as she deeply worries about her people on her home planet.

She sympathizes with the pilot's situation deeply and also hopes his people are saved too. "Those poor civilians..." She said. "I hope they are okay...getting into safety." The other three boys felt the same way. As they gave him a pitiful look.

However, Raven didn't feel it that way as she noticed that he is lying during the explanation. She could tell it from his face and the tone of his voice. When Greem began to explain, he stuttered his words to make it realistic. Even if it has the effects of knowing how tragic his story is, it did not sound true to her. She wondered whether is he trying to forget what had happened before the crash or not. She needs to know. She thought of asking him later. Once he is fully recovered.

After hearing the story from him, They soon gave him some personal space to calm down his sorrows. As well as some moments to let him rest for a while.

"We will leave you in this room to get some rest. Later on, one of us will come and serve you some food once you are fully rested. So, save your strength Greem. It must have been a tiring and chaotic experience for you to get the people away from the war. " said Robin with his kindhearted spirit.

Greem thanked the Boy Wonder's hospitality as he gave him a slight nod. "Oh thank you...I appreciate it." And after that, the titans left him alone in the room to rest without any disturbance.

While they went to the kitchen to prepare a meal to help him gain some strength, Greem looked up at the ceiling and let out a long sighed. "... was this the right choice?" he questioned to himself, "am i...a coward...am I not...a true Mandalorian warrior..?" He then faced to the side and saw his armor and helmet being placed on the table. He felt he wanted to look away from it by just looking at it. It reminded him of the traumatic past event that occurred recently. The event that made him escape so badly which he later became...a deserter within the splinter group.

How could I failed it he sadly thinks, I am not worthy to join back in the group. Even if..." she" convinced me to...He soon faced away from his belongings and put on some shut-eye to get some sleep. Maybe a good sleep could help him forget that terrible incident.

However, he remembered the traumatic past that forced him to leave.
