AN: I do not own Supernatural; I just love writing about the boys. They are some of my favorite characters of all time, and I've done a few SPN crossovers already. Decided to try my hand at a regular story. Enjoy!
Sam sat at one of the bunker tables, searching the internet for any sort of story that fit ghost, goblin, or other. Dean was in the kitchen, working on breakfast for them. Sam felt like he moved from place to place almost his whole life. He pretty much had. But now—the bunker was feeling more and more like a home. Their sanctuary from the chaos outside. The creatures that went bump in the night. He was glad that the warding held off virtually everything known to the Men of Letters at the time. His eyes caught the headline of a news report in Wisconsin. Murders happening in a city north of Milwaukee, south of Green Bay. It was starting to gain state attention. Uh-oh.
He didn't notice Dean had come in and put down his plate until Dean cleared his throat. Sam glared at him until he saw his plate. "Oh, hey; thanks for breakfast," he said, abandoning the laptop in favor of oatmeal, eggs, and sausages.
"Coffee is still in the kitchen. I know you do your own little whatever with it," Dean remarked, drinking his coffee straight.
"I love myself, okay?" Sam replied in between bites of the eggs. "Just because I like it with a LITTLE sugar and cream," he retorted. Dean smirked.
"Bitch."
"Jerk."
Dean laughed at that, swigging the last of his coffee. He stuck a fork in his eggs. "So what kind of case were you looking at before?" he asked, starting on his own plate of food.
"Murders in a place called Sheboygan." Dean looked a little shocked.
"I didn't think that was a real place."
"C'mon, man, really? It's mentioned in Home Alone. We've seen that movie like at least a dozen times."
"Yeah, I thought it was just a filler city. Y'know, something that sounds funny to put in and get a laugh."
Sam rolled his eyes. "Good lord, Dean. Anyways, it's gonna take some time to get there, so we should grab what we can and head out in the next hour or so." Dean just nodded as he heaped another forkful of food into his mouth.
