Captain and Celestial: Wedding and Honeymoon

Part 1: Time off

Somewhere in the Galaxy far from Earth. On the planet Celeste, which was once home to the light and powerful beings known as the Celestials. Its city's now laid in ruins and was currently being used as a refuge for the shapeshifting race known as the Skrulls. The race in question was currently being chased throughout the remains of a city as the the noble warrior heroes from the race known as the Kree were trying to kill them.

"Find them, dont let any of them get away," said the male warrior who was leading the charge. He saw one of his men shot down by a laser rifle and he spotted the shooter in a tall building.

"Kill that sniper and make sure theres no survivors," he said speaking into his comm link as a drop ship blasted the building. The three soldiers inside were sent flying to the ground as dust shot up.

"Lakose, we need to," one of the skrulls said trying to get their leader up from the ground before seeing a drop ships spotlight on them. The skrull shut his eyes expecting to be killed, but he then heard an explosion and opened his eyes to see the ship crashing to the ground as a being of blue light entered the building through the broken window. The skrull solider looked surprised recognizing the being as a celestial from the drawings in one of the city's library's, but the more surprising fact was that there was one still alive.

"Are you hurt?" the Celestial asked as the light vanished from his body revealing a man with short blue hair and blue eyes.

"No, but he's injured," the skrull said pointing at Lakose who was groaning as his stomach began bleed. The Celestial moved his right hand over the wound as it shined a blue light, the wound vanishing and leaving behind clean green skin making the skrull gasp for air.

"Lakose," the skrull said looking relived before watching as the Celestial stood up facing the window, "Wait who are you?" He asked.

"Names Raymond Richards, but you can call me Ray," he said when the skrulls looked surprised to see debris from a destroyed accuser ship falling to the ground outside the city. Then another being covered by light flew down from the clouds. This ones body much more visible revealing she was female and wearing the same red and blue suit as the Celestial. She began blowing up the drop ships and fighters before they could hit people.

"That would be my fiance Carol who I should probably be helping to end this battle," he said before the blue light covered his body and after only a few seconds of flying he blew up a fighter.

"Hey thanks for joining me," said Carol flying upside down above him as he blasted another drop ship down.

"Sorry had to do some hero work, not that you werent of course," he said laughing nervously. The two of them had been traveling with Talos, his family and other skrull Refugees as they went from planet to planet rescuing Skrull's and stopping the Kree from killing more of them. They had come to Celeste because they hadn't been picking up any distress calls or heard anything on the news for a while. But it turns out Talos left behind some kind of Transmitter on the planet thinking it would be a safe place for Skrulls who were stranded in space and decided to check if anyone had heard the call.

He thought the Kree would never come back since they had already wiped out all of the planets life. Turns out they had showed up just in time to save the refugees staying there, "Was there any more accuser ships up above, or have we already shortened their supply," he said smiling.

"Only one, Talos is keeping the ship above orbit," said Carol before looking down at the ground, "Below us," she said before the two of them flew to the ground and stopped a group of soldiers along with a man wielding two swords.

"Traitors, you will pay for betraying the supreme," the sword wielder said before being blasted by a blast of energy from both of them.

"They just love to talk don't they," said Carol putting a hand on her hip before the soldiers began rushing at them.

"They're were probably hoping wed give up," Raymond said looking at her while sending one of the soldiers flying without even looking. The two of them beat down the soldiers before taking care of the rest of the ships and confronting the commander.

"Mond and Vers stand down," he said aiming his large rifle at them.

"Wait do we know him?" Carol asked pointing at him.

"I'm not sure, memories got mixed up after I remembered what happened," Raymond answered shaking his shoulders before dodging a shot from the rifle.

"Well looks like hes not going to surrender," said Carol before jumping forward and punching the man in the face making him drop his rifle. Raymond sighed before noticing the remaining soldiers aiming their guns at Carol.

"No interrupting," Raymond said firing from his blue glowing right arm, a blast of blue energy. Sending them all flying onto their backs and leaving smoking hole in their suits.

"What," the commander said before Carol punched him across the face with a glowing right fist. His helmet flew off as he fell to the ground unconscious.

"Oh I remember him now," said Carol getting Raymonds attention. He walked over noticing the krees blue face and if he had to guess he looked a few years older then Yon Ragg from back when they last saw him.

"Thats right he was the shooting instructor back on Hala, wait didn't he end up hating us," Raymond said looking confused that he cant remember why, Carol laughed from the look on his face.

"I do, we were suppose to be using the practice weapons but we ended up using our energy blasts and blew up the targets," she said smiling while he laughed, "Looks like were all clear now," she said noticing the Skrull refugees in the area were now walking in their direction, probably from hearing the laser fire stop and no ships flying above them.

"Got it," Raymond said activating his com link, "Bring the ship down Talos, everything's clear now," he said.

"Rodger that," said Talos making Raymond laugh. During their time on the ship Talos always liked talking about the things he saw during his brief time on earth.

"Well I say another mission success Raymond," Carol said wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Couldn't have done it without you Carol," he said smiling before wrapping one arm around her waist. He pulled her close as he kissed her on the mouth and she kissed him back as he wrapped both of his arms around her. The two of then pulled away as Raymond held her left hand and looked at her engagement ring.

"We really should get around to this," she said making him look surprised.

"Really," he said.

"Why, your not backing out are you," she said raising her right eyebrow and while smiling.

"Of course not," he said giving her a quick kiss on the lips, "I want to get married to you as soon as we can, but we've been busy over the last, wait how long have we been engaged?".

"I think its been two years since we left earth, I guess time really flys when your saving an entire race," Carol said smiling, "How about this, the first opportunity that comes up we take it," she said.

"Sounds great to me, thought I didn't know you were this excited to become Carol Richards," he said smiling before she pushed him a little making him laugh. But they still held hands as they watched the ship that was once Mar Vells lab, now turned refugee ship emerge from the clouds. While Talos was checking on the surviving refugees after Raymond had healed the injured, the engaged couple were fixing up a drop ship that had the surving Kree on it. After Carol finished setting the coordinates back to Hala on the ships computer, they closed up the ship, blasting the engine and sent flying back into space.

They headed back into the city where the skrulls thanked them. They didn't seem to care that their uniforms were similar to the ones the people that attacked them wore. When they were approaching the large building in the middle Talos came walking outside with his wife, "Were there any deaths?" Carol asked as Talos nodded his head yes as he looked down.

"This planets refuge was bigger then any of the last we've been to, the attack started yesterday and ten people died before they got all the women and Children in here," he said pointing at the building behind them.

"Why here?" Raymond asked before the four of them walked into the building and they walked down stairs that lead underground.

"This some kind of bunker," said Carol.

"Not exactly, it turns out some Celestials were explorers," Talos explained as they continued walking down the stairs, "They sometimes liked to bring artifacts back home with them, though that one remains empty," said Talos as they walked past a door that had a holographic sign that flickered on and off. Raymond could barely make out the words.

"Stone room, what does that mean?" He asked.

"Not sure, but one of the others already checked that room and there's nothing in it accept for six empty capsules," said Talos before they reached a screen. He and his wife stood in front of the it and when Carol and Raymond reached it they looked surprised at the sight below them. Above a large metal floor was a ship, a little bigger then an accuser ship accept its bridge was on the left side of it and the engines were on the right side of it.

"They were also excellent builders," Talos wife said as Raymond noticed four skrulls pushing a large engine part up the ships boarding ramp using a hover cart.

"Was it not fully built," Raymond said.

"Well the others who were staying here were having trouble with it and they didn't think they would ever have to leave," Talos said rubbing the back of his head.

"You didn't know this would happen," his wife said holding his arm.

"They might have thought I would have come here," Raymond said looking down at the ship as he referred to the kree, "Now that they know I can space travel they might have thought I would come here to see where my dad was from," he said as Carol placed a hand on his right arm.

"Well they wont be finding us here again," a male voice said getting their attention. They looked to see a skrull dressed in a grey suit, "My names Marcus, Im kind of the science guy around here and in charge of getting the old thing going," he said gesturing at the ship as he held a datapad in his right hand.

"When I first heard about it I found it hard to believe, a living Celestial," he said stepping forward and shaking Raymonds hand.

"Thanks but Im only half Celestial, my mother was from Earth," he said.

"Well that makes sense given you only have one color, its been a very long time since the galaxy has seen a singular celestial, now Talos my team said you were looking for a room to hold a ceremony," he said making Raymond and Carol look confused while Talos and his wife smiled at the couple.

"Very well lead the way," said Talos as they headed back to the surface. They then reached another part of the building that had rows of chairs on each side of the room and at the end was an Altar.

"I think I know where this is going," Carol whispered to Raymond who nodded in agreement as the looked at some of the broken windows on the walls. There was only one not broken at the end of the room showing Two celestials holding hands under a shining light.

"So what do you think, sure its not like those churches back on earth but its better then nothing," said Talos.

"Did you ask them to find us a place to get married?" Carol asked.

"You two have done so much for us and we think its time we pay you pack," Talos wife said smiling.

"You don't have to pay us back, after all this what Mar Vell wanted," said Raymond looking serious.

"Yeah and we hurt some of you before we got our memory's back," Carol said looking down.

"It's like I told you a few years back, we both have blood on our hands because of the war," Talos said stepping forward, "But we eventually have to move on and you cant sacrifice your happiness for us," he said.

"Plus I'm sure seeing two people who love each other get married would cheer everyone up after what they just went through," said Marcus.

Carol and Raymond looked at each other before smiling, "We did say we would take advantage of the next opportunity," she said.

"That's great to hear, now back to the ship because there is way I'm letting friends of mine get married in military uniforms," said Talos said pointing them out of the building. On board the refuge ship Raymond had changed into a black suit with a blue tie. Sometimes on other planets they would find clothes stores that had similar styles to the ones back on Earth. Carol didn't buy much dresses but even she was impressed the way some of them looked.

"They're really bright," she had told him on the last planet back when they were shopping for supplies.

He then heard a knock at the door to his and Carols room. Carol herself was in another room where she was being helped by Talos's wife and daughter. He opened the door to see it was Talos himself who had also dressed up for the occasion.

"Now I believe its bad luck for the groom to see the bride for the wedding," said Talos pointing in the direction that lead to the exit of the ship.

Raymond smiled before the two of them walked back to the main building. All the Skrull refuges were either standing outside the entrance or sitting in the chairs. They saw Marcus standing there holding his datapad.

"I hope you don't mind but I was able to search this buildings database and found the details on how to perform a celestial wedding," he said.

"This place has a database?" Raymond asked looking surprised thinking all the information was likely gone with the rest of his fathers people.

"Yes along with some books, we were able to gather most of the important history, but other things are sadly lost to us forever," said Marcus looking down before pulling out another Data pad and handing it to Raymond.

"We had to erase everything from the core if the kree decide come back here after we've left, there are only two copy's of this information," said Marcus before holding up his datapad and gesturing at the one Raymond was holding, "These are the only two copy's and Im certain one belongs with you,".

"Thanks Marcus," said Raymond before putting the data pad in his suit pocket, "Don't worry about performing a celestial ceremony, after all me and Carol were born and raised on Earth," he said making the skrull scientist look nervous.

"Here I know how it goes, some of there movies are very knowledgeable," said Talos reaching for Marcus's data pad before Raymond grabbed it and two blue hands grew out of his back.

"Well I lived on earth for most of my life, so maybe I should take care of this," said Raymond calmly before the two blue hands began typing. A few minutes later Talos wife came up to the Altar.

"Shes ready," she said before going to sit in the front row with her daughter.

The doors at the end of the room opened and Raymond felt his hear beat against his chest from the sight. Carol was dressed in a white dress, but the skirt had blue lines going around it and her hair was down. She smiled at him when Talos nodded at a skrull standing behind the last row of chairs. The Skrull nodded its head and held a datapad in the air.

Then the crowd looked confused when rock music began playing out of it, "That's the wrong song," Talos said rushing over to the Skrull while Raymond and Carol looked at each other before laughing.

"Alight all fixed up," said Talos before noticing Carol had already reached her soon to be husband, "Well on with the ceremony then, its not like I put hard work into all this," he said while some of the skrulls laughed while he sat down next to his family.

Raymond then looked at Carol smiling, "I don't look ridiculous do I?" She asked smiling.

"Nope, your as beautiful as the day I met you," he said holding her hands.

"Everyone we are gathered here today to join this man and this woman," Marcus said as he began to start the ceremony. When they reached the vows Caro spoke up.

"Is it okay if we say our own?" She asked making Marcus look confused.

"Uh yes, he did have it down as optional," said Marcus gesturing at Raymond who smiled.

"Then its okay if I go first," said Carol smiling, "Raymond the first time you and I met you spoke up for me and ever since then you've supported my dream, every moment we spent together I fell for you more and more," she said.

"When I thought I would lose you Ive never felt that scared, I want you to know that Im always going to be here for you like you were for me and love you for the rest of my life," she said.

"Are you crying," Talos wife asked her husband who was wiping his eyes.

"No of course not," he said trying to look serious but failing before Raymond began speaking.

"Carol after my mom and dad died I wasn't sure if I could find other people to care about, but then I saw you and Maria sitting in the bar one day and suddenly I felt hope again besides working and helping people," he said while she laughed a little, "I want you know too that I'm always going to be here for you and love you for the rest of my life and I also want to say thank you for bringing me into your life,".

"Can we finish up before," Carol said her voice shaking from emotion which made Raymond smile as he held her hands.

"Of course, now may we have the rings," Marcus said gesturing at Talos daughter who handed both Raymond and Carol a small golden ring, "Do you Raymond Richards take Carol Danvers to be your wife?".

"I do," he answered as he placed the ring on Carols finger.

"Do you Carol Danvers take Raymond Richards to be your husband?".

"I do," she said placing the ring on Raymonds finger.

"Then I pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride," Marcus said looking at Raymond. But before he could say anything Carol grabbed him around his neck and pulled his face to hers as she kissed him. Raymond then wrapped his arms around her waist as he kissed her back while the Skrulls cheered for their heroes.

Later on after the large ship underground was ready for travel. Marcus revealed that there were smaller ships inside it that had a room to sleep in along with a bathroom and a small kitchen. Its weapons were two laser cannons attached to the front of it.

The ship flew up into the sky above the city as Talos and his family were saying goodbye to Raymond and Carol who were asked to go on their honeymoon, "You sure your going to be safe without us for a while?" Carol asked. She and Raymond had changed back into their suits after their wedding because they werent sure how long it would take for the kree to come back.

"Will be fine, Marcus already found us a safe place to lay low, far away from the kree," said Talos.

"We will see you again right?" Talos daughter asked looking down.

"Don't worry will be back before you know it," Raymond said smiling as a blue hand grew out of his back and waved at the skrull child which made her laugh.

"Make sure to stay safe," Talos wife said smiling at Carol.

"Will do, you too," said Carol before she and Raymond picked up their bags and boarded the ship. When they reached space they watched as the ship carrying the refugees and Mar Vells lab shoot off into light speed.

"So where are we going for our honeymoon?" Carol asked smiling which made Raymond smile at his now wife.

"I overheard a couple talking back on the last planet we visited before this, apparently theres a planet filled with vacation homes on small islands," he said.

"Sounds nice, it would be good to have some privacy to ourselves for a while," Carol said resting back in her pilots seat.

"Yeah but first will have to go to the station above the planet and rent one from there, a week sound good?" Raymond asked.

Carol got up from her seat and sat down in Raymonds lap before kissing him on the lips, "Sounds great, but first," she said getting off his lap and picking up her bag.

"I think we should actually be dressed as a couple going on their honeymoon,".

"Ill set the coordinates," he said smiling at her and she smiled back him before heading to the ships small bedroom.

"Shes right, it will be nice to have some time to ourselves," he thought smiling before activating the ships light speed engine and heading towards the vacation planet, Dalis.
