Heart To Soul
Life can always be found
And to listen all around
Where the silence is heard
The voices command and serve
Be guided by the light
Fought in the shadow of night
A soul never grows old
And a heart made of gold
With a courage of a lion
Runs free like a stallion

At the twilight...
Adrenaline...Running...Soaking...Aching...Surviving...That what's on my mind, as the air was burning into my lungs and the muscles screaming for me to stop, but I couldn't...not while the goons were after me. I knew what would happen if I stop now, they'll capture me and I'll never be heard from again.
My body was constantly aching as I was running to nowhere but, anywhere for safety for my life. "Get her!...She getting away!...The boss wants her alive!" The leader goon shouted as the others were after me.
Hearing the footsteps behind me as much as my own, were stepping in the puddles. Rain pouring down from the storm that was brewing above and now begun it's wrath among the city, cleansing it with it's purity within the droplets of rain.
With a great distance from the goons, I run behind a building, stopping for a moment to catch my breath. Breathing harshly, seeing a cloudy mist appear every time I exhale.
I heard footsteps coming closer, I held breath for a moment, hoping not to be discovered. They halted as they were on the other side of the building, whispering loudly.
"Where did that brat go?" One goon said. "Well...she hasn't gone far...we'll find her or else..." The other goon said.
I heard them shudder as if they were punished for the past failures. Then I heard a cracking noise and then running footsteps, apparently the goons heard it too.
"Over there...that might be her...after her." The leader goon said as their footsteps slowly receding. I waited a few moments before peaking out making sure no one was there.
When the coast was clear, I glanced around to see where to run to...Then I saw it. The park...I remembered that there was a huge a large storm drain in the middle of the park, I can lay low for awhile.
I glanced around one last time, to be sure no one is around. It was silent besides the pouring rain, soaking me to the bone and dripping off my bangs, I was glad that my hair was in a bun, it would have been a hassle if if was free, since it was down to my hips and black to easily hide in the shadows and not blonde.
Once I saw no one was around, I bolted to the park. I rushed past the trail, the bushes, then I heard multiple footsteps, I stopped and hid behind a tree.
Waiting for a moment for them to past by. "Come on lets go...it getting late Devin...Father will notice that we're gone above and we'll get severely punished." a soft spoken masculine voice said.
For some reason I felt a pull towards that voice. I heard rustling a bit and then a chuckle.
"Ahh...Come on Vincent...Loosen up a little...will ya?" Devin said. I heard a deep sigh as they past by the tree I was hiding behind.
"What if we get caught up here...especially me, you know what will happen?" Vincent said. I heard a soft thud as if it was a pat on the shoulder.
"You'll be fine...and besides...I'm here to protect you...you know." Devin said. Then I heard a soft chuckle.
"It could be the other way around." Vincent said. I smirked on that comment with a sudden happiness in my heart, I accidently let out a quiet giggle then I realized my mistake, so I put my hand over my mouth.
"Did you hear that?" Vincent said. "Hear what?..." Devin said.
"We should go...now!" Vincent said urgently. "Aw...come on...it must be your imagination...no one is out here at night." Devin said.
"Can we go now please?..." Vincent begged. I heard a sigh in defeat.
"Alright...Lets go then...scaredy cat." Devin said. Then I heard a growl for a moment almost sounded like an animal was close by.
"I am not...It just safety and not getting into trouble." Vincent said as they left. I released the breath that I was holding as I peered out.
I sighed in relief. "Safe...for now." I thought. No one was there, so I dashed out from behind the tree in search of the storm drain.
