Dr. Handsfield Has furious. Not only in part because he was locked out of his power by that stupid girl, but because he was no closer to getting the miraculous. He had invested so much power into her and she just threw it away. Something else bothered him about that fight. Where had Ladybug been? Had the fight just not lasted long enough? No, the fight had gone on for over 5 minutes. She hadn't shown up either due to incompetence or on purpose. That thought sent him into a rage. How could these children be entrusted with such power and still be so arrogant as to think one girl was unimportant. He never wanted to cause destruction, but if that was the price, he could always fix it later. He had gotten a glimpse at the end of the fight though. That stupid cat had tried to help that girl when she broke his control. Maybe he was okay. Maybe he could be convinced. He would have to see what he could do. But first, he had an appointment with another blond injured in that dirt devil attack.
Adrien was finally discharged from the hospital and immediately went to see marinette. He knew the past few days had been hard. He felt guilty about how he had acted but the smallest thing could set her off. Plagg had told him that if she got angry enough, she could change back. That was a terrifying thought.
Learning to live with an akuma in you is an interesting experience. The littlest thing could set her off. Thank god for the Kwamiis. They had told them how to remove the Akuma safely. However, this only worked because she wanted it to. Most victims were overpowered by their emotions to want help. It had been an interesting couple of days hile they waited for the kwamis to finish prereations. Adrien had been walking on eggshells around her for fear of summoning the akuma back. He hadn't won that fight. He had survived it. The one thing that had come back to bite them was Alya. She wouldn't give it a rest. She kept sending angry and accusing glances at him until she returned. Then the glaces were relieved and hurt.
Alya had been hurt when she figured out Marinette's secret. She had been angry when the full implication hit her. She had been remorseful when she turned her best friend and the only one who could save the day into an akuma. She had been distraught when that same friend refused any visitors in the past few days. Now, she was back to hurt. Why had she pushed her out? Why had Marinette kept her at arm's length? She could understand the secret identity thing now. Not only because of the cliche reason of protecting those you love, but because of that day when Paris did not have a hero, and it didn't even know. It was so the role could be filled by anyone. As long as Paris has a ladybug right? She hated that thought. There was no replacing her. Right? How could she think she was replaceable? Alya was probably off base. Marinette didn't think like that but there had to be a bigger reason. There had to be.
Nino was just happy to have Adrien back. That week and a half he had been missing had been hell. They had also been filled with thinking. Ever since that encounter with chat Noir, he had been thinking. He had come to a very disturbing conclusion. Why as it disturbing. Surly it would be cool to have a super hero best friend. He thought so at first then he saw it. Adrien was draining himself. He could see how detached Adrien's father was from his son. He could see how distant his staff was. He could also see how outgoing Chat and Adrien were. Where was he drawing his happiness from?
