Chapter 4: The shadowlands
I gasped when I saw Ahadi who was giving me a dark look in his eyes. "Dad, what are you doing here?" I said. "I should be asking you the same thing, what are you doing here?" Ahadi said. "What do you mean?" I said. "I told you, you were not supposed to come back when you bring me some food! And you do not have any food!" Ahadi yelled. Without a warning, Ahadi punched me hard in the face.
I fell to the ground. "Dad, stop!" Taka said. "Shut up you brat!" Ahadi yelled at Taka. Ahadi hit Taka also and Taka cried out in pain. "What is going on over here?" A voice said. We turned around to see Uru walking up to us. "Mom!" I cried. I and the cubs ran up to Uru. "Ahadi what are you doing?" Uru said with shock.
"Oh nothing Uru, don't worry. I was only playing with them" Ahadi said with a smirk. "But mom, he was..." I started but Ahadi gave me a look. I stopped talking when he gave me a dark look in his eyes. "I was only playing, don't worry. Now go back to the cave, I will meet you there" Ahadi said. "Fine" Uru said as she glared at Ahadi. Uru then left and Ahadi looked back at us.
"Please, don't hurt us dad" I said. "Yeah, please. we Promise we will behave" Taka said. Ahadi gave us another dark glare and punched me and Taka again. "Dad, stop! This doesn't solve anything!" Mufasa shouted. "Stay out of this, Mufasa!" Ahadi said. "Just go back to the cave! I will deal with these two brats!" Ahadi shouted. "Fine, but if I find out you hurt them, I will tell mom!" Mufasa shouted.
"Just go!" Ahadi shouted. Mufasa said nothing and left to go back to the cave. Ahadi then looked back at us. "You two brats have been lucky this time" Ahadi said. "What do you mean dad?" I said. "I mean that this time I was letting you off easy this time. but next time if you break the rules then your punishments will be more severe" Ahadi said. "O-Okay dad" Taka said. "Good, now go to sleep" Ahadi said.
Ahadi then left to go back to the cave. Taka went back to the cave and I also went back to my room. I closed my door and I laid down in my bed. I fell in a deep sleep.
The next morning I woke up, got dressed and I had some breakfast. After I had some breakfast, my mom, Uru walked up to me. "Hi Mom" I said. "Hey Sweetie, I just wanted to check on you. How are you feeling?" Uru said. "I am feeling okay mom but..." I said. "What's wrong sweetie, you know you can talk to me" Uru said. "Well if I told you then dad would get mad at me" I said.
"What do you mean?" Uru said. "Dad has been abusing me since I came into the pride lands. yesterday he forced me to go hunting. that's why I was gone yesterday" I said. "Oh Lana, I'm so sorry this happened. If I would have known then I would have stopped this sooner" Uru said. "I know I'm sorry mom" I said. "I just didn't want to get hurt" I said.
"I know. I understand. I'd just wish I'd known this sooner" Uru said. "Yeah" I said. "Go get some rest, I will deal with Ahadi" Uru said. "Okay, mom" I said. I went to my room and closed the door. I decided to watch some movies on my computer for a while. After a while of watching movies, I decided to listen to some music for a while. I got bored so I decided to go outside and sit outside for a while.
I saw my brothers, Mufasa and Taka walking up to me. "Oh hey, guys" I said. "Hey Lana, How are you doing?" Mufasa said. "I'm doing okay" I said. "Did dad hurt you last night?" Mufasa said. "Yeah, a bit but he let us off easy this time" I said. "Well, that's good I suppose" Mufasa said. "Yeah" I said. "Hey I have an Idea" Taka said.
"What's that?" Mufasa said. "We should go to the shadowlands. It's more interesting than here" Taka said. I shook my head. "No. Mom and dad would kill us. besides it's dangerous there" I said. "Aw come on Lana, don't tell me your scared" Taka said. "I'm not scared...I just don't want to get in trouble that's all" I said. "Yeah, Lana's right. We should just stay here" Mufasa said. I nodded in agreement. "Yeah" I said.
"You guys are just party poopers. fine if you won't come with me, I will go there myself" Taka said. With that, Taka left. "Taka wait!" I cried. "We should go after him" Mufasa said. "But we'll get in trouble" I said. "Do you really want our brother's life to be in danger?" Mufasa said. I sighed. "no, I guess not. I just don't wanna get in trouble" I said. "I know, we'll deal with that later. for now, let's just get Taka and leave" Mufasa said.
"Okay" I said. Mufasa and I then left to go find Taka. It took us a while but we finally got to the shadowlands. "Let's just find him and get out of here" I said. Mufasa nodded. "Taka?!" I called as we walked around the shadowlands. Mufasa and I kept calling for Taka and walking around the shadowlands, looking for him. We finally found him.
Taka was sitting with three hyenas, talking with him. I was not happy with Taka, nor was Mufasa. I stormed up to Taka. "Oh hey, sis. meet Banzi, Shenzi, and Ed, my new friends" Taka said with a smile. I looked at the hyenas with disgust. I then looked back at Taka and glared at him. "I don't care, now come on let's go home. do you realize what danger you could have been in or how much trouble we could have been in if mom and dad found out?!" I shouted.
"You sound like mom and dad, always telling us what to do" Taka whined. "Lana's right Taka, now let's go" Mufasa said. "But I-" Taka started but I cut him off. "Not another word" I said. I picked up Taka. As we were about to walk home, I nearly dropped Taka when we heard a loud roar. I gasped in fright when I looked ahead of me.
our dad, Ahadi was standing right in front of us with a dark look in his eyes.I set Taka down. Ahadi looked at the hyenas angrily. "What are you three doing here?" Ahadi said with a low growl. "Uhh, we live here" Shenzi said nervously. "I know that! what I mean is, what the hell are you doing around my kids?!" Ahadi yelled. "Nothing, my king. we will go now" Shenzi said.
"Good, you better. Now go before I beat your ass" Ahadi said. The hyenas quickly left. Ahadi glared at us. "What do you three think you were doing here in the shadowlands?! I told you guys this place was forbidden!" Ahadi yelled. "It wasn't my fault dad, Taka had the idea to come here" I said. "Yeah, and we had to follow him" Mufasa said. "Silence! I will deal with this when we get home. Now, let's go" Ahadi said.
Ahadi picked up Taka by the scruff of his neck and Mufasa was sitting on his back. "Lana!" Ahadi growled. I gasped in fright and I followed Ahadi. After a while, We finally got home. it was nighttime right now. "Mufasa, go to the cave. I will deal with Lana and Taka" Ahadi said. Mufasa sighed as he walked back to the cave. Ahadi then turned around and glared at me and Taka. "As for you two, why did you go into the shadowlands?
I specifically told you two not to go there, yet you did!" Ahadi yelled. "Sorry dad, It's just that...I thought it would be cool that we went there" Taka said. "WE? YOU thought it would be cool but I didn't. you decided to go there, not us. We were the ones having to rescue you" I said to Taka. "Well if you guys weren't being so scared then you two wouldn't have followed me!" Take shouted.
"If you hadn't gone there then we wouldn't have gotten in trouble!" I shouted back. "ENOUGH!" Ahadi roared. Taka and I stopped our argument and looked at Ahadi with fear in our eyes. "I am very disappointed in the both of you. You two both went to somewhere where you shouldn't have gone" Ahadi said. "but dad, Mufasa was in on this too.
he also went to the shadowlands with us. Why is he not getting in trouble and we are?" I said. "Yeah dad, that's not fair" Taka said. "I don't care. right now, all I care about is punishing you two for disobeying me" Ahadi said. I was trembling in fear. Ahadi then walked over to Taka. Without warning, he struck his claws at Taka in his right eye.
Taka screamed in pain as he fell backward. Taka's eye was now bleeding. "Taka!" I cried with worry. I was scared now. Ahadi went over to me. "Stay back" I said. Ahadi ignored me and also struck me in my right eye with his claws. I screamed in pain. Blood was also pouring out of my right eye. "Dad, stop!" Taka cried. Ahadi punched Taka hard and he fell backward again.
I glared at Ahadi. "hit my brother one more time and I will tell mom" I threatened. "You wouldn't" Ahadi challenged. "I will" I said. I quickly ran to the cave but Ahadi leaped onto me and pinned me to the ground. He placed threatening claws under my chin. "If you dare tell Uru, then I will make sure you wish you have never been born" Ahadi said in a dark tone. "Do you understand?" Ahadi said.
"Yes dad" I said. "Now can you get off of me?" I said. Ahadi growled and got off of me. Ahadi then looked at Taka. "The same goes for you, you little shit" Ahadi said in a dark tone. With that, Ahadi left and walked into the cave. I sighed. I walked to Taka and helped him up. "Thanks" Taka said. "Are you okay?" Taka said. I nodded. "Yeah, you?" I said. "Yeah" I said. "We just can't let mom know what happened to us" I said.
"What are we gonna do Lana?" Taka said. "I don't know. Just go back to the cave for now. I will think about it" I said. "Okay" Taka said. Taka and I parted ways and I went into my room. I grabbed a cloth and cleaned up the blood that was still pouring down my eye. I sighed. I now had a scratch on my right eye, along with my left ear that had the top part cut off. I look disgusting now.
I used to be beautiful but now, I look ugly. No girl is gonna want me as my girlfriend now. I laid down in bed and sighed. I had to figure out a way of getting me and my brothers out of this hell. In a few minutes, I fell asleep.
It is the next day since our punishments from Ahadi we had. I looked at the camera on my phone. I now had a visible scar showing from my right eye. I sighed. How am I gonna explain this to mom? I got myself dressed into my Disney princesses shirt with pink leggings on. After I got out of bed I ate my breakfast. I was about to go to my room again when my mom, Uru walked up to me.
"Hi, mom" I said. "Hey sweetie, how are you doing?" Uru said. "I'm doing okay" I said. "Oh my god, what happened to your eye Lana?!" Uru said in shock. god damnit. "I umm...I tripped and a tree branch scratched my eye" I said. "Oh, I'm sorry sweetie, you should be more careful next time" Uru said. "Yes mom, I will be" I said. "Will you be okay?" Uru said. I got annoyed. "I'm fine mom!" I snapped at her.
"You don't need to be rude Lana, I was only asking" Uru said. "Just go" I said angrily. "If that's what you want then..." Uru said with a sigh. Uru then left. I turned around to see my dad, Ahadi who had a cruel smirk on his face. "Good job Lana, remember what I told you last night" Ahadi said. "Yeah whatever" I said. Ahadi then picked me up by the scruff of my neck and carried me to the cave.
"Hey, put me down!" I shouted. When we got to the cave Ahadi set me down and Uru walked up to us. "Hey, Ahadi" Uru said with a smile. "Hey dear, how are you doing?" Ahadi said as he and Uru nuzzled. "I'm doing good. But I am worried about Lana's eye" Uru said. "Oh really? What happened to her eye?" Ahadi said. "She says she tripped and fell onto a tree branch and scratched it" Uru said.
I got annoyed again. Uru had no idea what was going on between me, Ahadi, and Taka. And I intended to keep it that way. "I told her she should be more careful" Uru said. Ahadi then looked at me. "Yes Lana, you should be more 'carful'" Ahadi said. "Anyways Uru, I was thinking I should take Mufasa exploring around the pridelands and teach him a few things" Ahadi said. "That's a great idea Ahadi" Uru said. Ahadi called Mufasa over.
they then left to go exploring.
