Chapter 1:
3rd person POV:
"Sometimes justice is better served by those who have experienced the pain." - Mark W Boyer
Just because Clarke was privileged and lived in a mansion when she was younger doesn't mean she had a good life. Everyone always assumed she was a rich daddy's girl that was a total airhead (mainly because she's a blonde). Even when she was in high school, guys would ask her out for her money and girls would use her for her house.
Over the years Clarke learned that you don't need many friends to be happy, especially when it comes to college.
After High-school she was given a full ride academic scholarship to Polis University in Ton D.C, Pennsylvania. Abby Griffin refused to let her daughter live in a "crusty looking doom room," (her words) and rent out a cute apartment right on the outskirts of the university.
Clarke didn't want any roommates at first, without roommates it was easier to hide her secret.
Being the boss of a top secret organization for vigilantes was not a easy job. Sometimes she'd be gone for days either killing those guilty of crimes and other times trying to help the innocent.
She wasn't always the boss, sure she knew of the family business since she was just a little girl but didn't get involved until her father was brutally murdered by the mountain men (a dangerous crime family). Ever since she's been working her ass off trying to find a way to destroy them.
Her mother never got involved and refused to take over the organization after Jake died. They were divorced and she was happy remaining a high class surgeon at Arkadia children's hospital. After she selfishly declined, the job was forced upon Clarke.
Most people called Clarke a visionary and a role model within the organization but she was none of those things, if anything she was a murderer. She's killed more people then she can count.
It didn't get complicated until she became roommates with Raven Reyes and Octavia Blake. She didn't want roommates but after a year her mother refused to pay for the rent. Clarke understood why her mother stopped paying the rent but it made it very inconvenient for Clarke herself. The apartment was closer to her job and Arkadia and she didn't have enough money coming in to pay for it by herself.
She held a interview for possible roommates and quickly decided upon Raven and Octavia, they both just stood out to her. They've been living together for a little over a year now.
She's had moments where she's had to leave for a few days to deal with problems and had nearly landed in the hospital each time, but they weren't suspicious of anything. No one was actually. That was of course until Octavias charming asshole of a brother Bellamy Blake arrived in town.
According to Octavia, Bellamy was living in their hometown as a cop and it was just pure luck that he was given a promotion to become a detective in Ton D.C. Not even twenty five minutes away from their apartment.
Clarke also never expected for fall in love with Bellamy Blake but she did.
"Movie night," Clarke wiggled her eyebrows playfully as she threw three DVDS in front of Raven and Octavia. Pick one of those movies. I'm going to go order pizza."
"Make sure you order garlic bread," Octavia shouted as she looked through the movie choices.
"And sauce," Raven added.
Clarke laughed from the kitchen as she grabbed the home phone. "Got it." She leaned on the counter, grabbing the one side with her hand and signed as she dialed night blood pizzeria.
Clarke hummed softly as she heard Raven and Octavia argue about which movies better; Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone or the half blood prince.
"Hello, you've reached night blood pizzeria, this is Aden speaking, how can we help you?"
"Hi," Clarke said as she cleared her throat. "Can I order a large cheese pizza with a side of garlic bread and sauce?"
"Of course," Aden said before pausing. "Anything else?"
"Uhh... no that'll be it."
"Pick up or delivery?"
"Delivery."
"Got it. The wait will be around a half an hour." And with that Aden hung up.
Clarke smiled softly before throwing the phone onto the counter and strutting into the living. "Pizza will arrive in a half and hour. Did you guys figure out which movie?"
Raven scoffed as Octavia pointed at Harry Potter and the halfblood prince. "We're watching this one," she declared as she glared at Raven.
Raven rolled her eyes and gave Clarke a playful smirk before launching herself at Octavia.
Octavia yelped as Raven jumped on her torso. Raven began to tickle her sides, causing Octavia to laugh so loud that their neighbor pounded on the wall. "SHUT UP," they heard John Murphy shout.
"OH BE QUIET MURPHY WE HEAR YOU AND EMORI FUCKING EVERY NIGHT AND WE HAVEN'T COMPLAINED," Raven shouted as she pointed the middle finger at the wall.
All three of them began to laugh as they all sat on the couch together, Octavia smushed between the two of them. "I need to tell you guys something."
"You and Raven are dating?" Clarke asked as she leaned over to grab at her water bottle.
Octavia rolled her eyes and bumped Clarke's shoulder. "No..." It just so happens all three of them happen to be bisexual.
There have been drunken moments where they have made out with each other, but led to nothing more.
Clarke wasn't dumb. It was quite obvious that Octavia and Raven were in love with each other. Whenever either of them would bring someone home they'd get jealous and ignore each other, sometimes for days.
Clarke wishes sometimes they'd just get over themselves and fuck already. Then again she'd rather not hear them moaning every time she tried to fall asleep at night.
"What is it then," Raven asked as she put the DVD in the tv. She grabbed the bag of popcorn off of the table and placed it in her lap.
"My brothers moving down here."
"Your mysterious, hot brother is moving down here," Raven wiggled her eyebrows. "Is he single."
Octavia snorted. "Who knows with him. He's always fucking somebody."
"Why's he moving down here?" Clarke asked.
Octavia sighed and shook her head softly. She yawned once and leaned into Raven. "He's getting a promotion and apparently they said he could either move to a station some place in Wyoming or here. I haven't seen him in forever."
"That's sweet," Clarke smiled. "Is he nice?"
Octavia giggled into her hand. "I could see you two either fucking hating each other or falling in love. There's no in between."
"Oooh," Raven said as she wiggled her eyebrows. "I ship it already."
"Shut up," Clarke grumbled.
"Then again my brothers kind of a man slut," she shrugged. "He's weird like that. He'd always be overprotective over me about those things but do it himself. No drinking, no smoking, and no sex until you're 21," she mocked with a serious expression.
Clarkes shared a smile with them before phone beeped and she pulled it out of her pocket. She turned away from Octavia and put her head on the headrest. She opened up the message and mentally groaned.
Hey boss we got a problem. Atom and Malcom found a mountain man lurking around alpha station. We have him in custody and figured you'd want to beat the shit out of him or something.
She sighed as she replied to Miller.
Thanks Miller, I'll be down there asap. Make sure no one touches him until I'm there. Especially Indra. God knows she'd torture him shamelessly.
"You good, Clarke?" Octavia asked as she leaned over to peak over at Clarke's phone. "That's a long message," she joked. "Is it your secret boyfriend?"
Clarke snorted and stood up. She wiped down the wrinkles on her clothes and rolled her eyes at Octavias playful smirk. "No. It's a work emergency."
Raven groaned. "You always have work emergency's at the worst time. Cant you just ignore them?"
Clarke chuckled as she pecked their cheeks. "No can do. I'll be back as soon as I can. I left a twenty on the table for the pizza."
Clarke grabbed her coat and purse before leaving the apartment. She groaned as she watched John Murphy and his girlfriend Emori make out right in front of their apartment.
"Really, Murphy," she said as she crossed her arms, her eyebrows arched.
Murphy let her lips go and turned to smirk at the blonde. "I'm busy, blondie."
"Too bad, I need you two love birds to come with me. Miller said they caught a mountain man lurking around Alpha station. He's probably looking for information to use against us. They have him in custody."
It had been pure luck that Murphy moved in right next to Clarke. Murphy and Emori had been dating a year before finding themselves working for Clarke. Ever since they've been close friends.
"I wouldn't be surprised if Indra already got to him," Emori laughed as she pecked John on the lips. "Let's go."
Murphy rolled his eyes and groaned. "I hate you, Clarke."
Clarke rolled her eyes and laughed.
They all left the building and hopped into Clarke's car.
"What excuse did you use this time," Murphy asked from the backseat, leaning over to put a arm over Emori's shoulders.
Clarke shrugged as she pulled out of the parking lot. "Work emergency, per usual."
"Are you ever going to tell them?"
"What, tell my best friends that I don't work at a art gallery but I'm actually the boss of a organization that hunts down criminals? Yeah, because they'd definitely want to be friends with me after that."
"Well when you put it like that..." Murphy said as he leaned back in his chair. "Why are we coming with you anyways?"
"Emori is good at getting people to talk," she shrugged. "Figured she'd be useful." Clarke then looked back at Murphy. "You're just the eye candy."
Emori and Clarke began to laugh.
"Whatever," he grumbled. "Eyes on the the rode blondie."
