Chapter 7: Who will be king?

It has been about a year since Uru and Ahadi have adopted me and took me in. Ahadi is still abusive to me and Taka and he does not care about us at all. It is April 25th, 2019 right now and it is the day before my 16th birthday and the day before the big movie premiere date, Avengers endgame. I am very excited to see avengers endgame tomorrow for my birthday. My birthday is April 26th and I was born in the year 2005 on April 26th.

Today is also the day that I and my brothers get to find out who will rule the pride lands and be the next king. My brothers, Mufasa and Taka are now full-grown lions. I am in my room, watching avengers infinity war to get ready for the new movie tomorrow, avengers endgame. After I finished watching avengers infinity war, I decided to go ask my mom to see if she can celebrate my birthday with me tomorrow along with my brothers. "Mom, mom!" I called when I entered the cave inside pride rock.

Uru smiled when she saw me running inside the cave. "Hi sweetie, what's up?" Uru asked me. "Mom, will you, dad, Mufasa, and Taka celebrate my birthday tomorrow?" I said. "Of course we will Lana" Uru said. "I'm turning 16 tomorrow. I'm gonna go see the new avengers endgame movie tomorrow in theaters" I said exitedly. "that sounds like a fun birthday Lana. We can celebrate with you when you come home from the movies tomorrow" Uru said.

"Okay" I said. "Uru?" A voice said. Uru and I turned around to see my dad, Ahadi walking up to us. "Yes, Ahadi?" Uru said. "Gather the kids together, I am ready to announce who will rule the pride lands" Ahadi said. "Okay, Ahadi I will go get them" Uru said. "Good, meet me outside" Ahadi said.

"Okay" Uru said. Uru then left to go get Mufasa and Taka. I then looked at Ahadi. "Dad, will you be able to celebrate my birthday with mom and my brothers?" I asked him nervously. "No Lana, we need to focus on the new ruler of the pride lands right now. Now come on" Ahadi said. Ahadi then picked me up by the scruff of my neck and carried me outside to where Uru, Taka, and Mufasa were waiting for me. Ahadi set me down next to my brothers.

Uru and Ahadi were standing in front of us. "Now, Your mom and I have gathered around to announce who will be the new ruler of the pride lands" Ahadi said. "Now, as you all may know, your mom and I are getting too old to rule the pride lands. We will pick a new ruler to rule the pride lands" Ahadi said. "Who will be the new ruler, dad?" Taka said.
"Yeah, who will be the new ruler?" I said.

"I have decided the new ruler of the pride lands will be Mufasa" Ahadi said. "What?!" We all said at the same time. "Me, really?" Mufasa said with shock. "Yes, son. You have proven yourself to be worthy of being king" Ahadi said. "Thanks, dad" Mufasa said. "Your welcome, you have made me proud Mufasa" Ahadi said. Mufasa and Ahadi rubbed their heads to embrace each other. I felt a surge of anger and jealousy inside me.

Taka was feeling the same too I think. Taka put his paw on my shoulder to comfort me. "Dad, what about me and Lana?" Taka asked. "Yeah dad, what about us?" I said. "Don't worry Lana and Taka, you two can rule along side me" Mufasa said with a smile. I smiled. "Thanks, Mufasa" I said.

"No!" Ahadi yelled. "Oh come on Ahadi, what is wrong with Lana and Taka ruling alongside Mufasa?" Uru said with anger and disappointment in her voice. "There can only be one ruler, Uru. and it will be Mufasa, and Mufasa only!" Ahadi yelled. I felt anger flowing through my body as tears were streaming down my face. "Why do you treat us so differently dad?! Why do you have to abuse Taka and I?! Why won't you let us rule the pride lands too?!" I shouted.

"Because I hate you both! I don't love you!" Ahadi said. "Why?!" Taka shouted. "Because I just do!" Ahadi said. "I have always known you were abusing Taka and Lana, Ahadi. I thought you have changed but I guess not!" Uru yelled. "Shut up, Uru" Ahadi said. Ahadi then smacked me hard in the face and pinned me to the ground. "Listen here you brat, I will never love you. I have always hated you since the day you have came into the pride lands" Ahadi said.

I felt tears streaming down my face. "Well, if you really hate me that much and you don't love me then I guess that you don't need me anymore" I said. I pushed Ahadi off of me and I ran away from him. "Lana, wait!" I heard Uru call. I ignored Uru and kept running until I reached the edge of a cliff. I looked down.

I guess this is it, time for my life to end. I wanted to kill myself because no one loves me and no one needs me. "Goodbye cruel world" I said. I then let myself fall off of the cliff. As I was falling off the cliff, I felt something catching me. I looked up and I was surprised to see my dad, Ahadi who caught me. Ahadi pulled me back to safety.

When Ahadi set me down, he looked at me. "I know I have a lot of explaining to do, Lana. Let's go home and rest and I will explain tomorrow" Ahadi said. "Okay..." I said. I then walked with Ahadi as we started our journey home.

It is the next day since I have attempted to kill myself. I am currently getting ready to see the new avengers endgame movie for my birthday today. Today is my birthday and the release date of avengers endgame. I am very excited to see the movie today. I am in my room getting my Gamora costume on. After I got my Gamora costume on, I grabbed my purse and went outside. As I was gonna go to the movies, I heard a voice calling my name, "Lana?"

I turned around to see my dad, Ahadi looking at me. "Lana, listen. I am sorry for treating you badly ever since you have come into the pride lands. I realized what I have done is wrong. I understand if you don't forgive me" Ahadi said. There was a long moment of silence until I finally spoke up. "It's okay dad, I forgive you" I said. Ahadi looked up at me. "Really Lana?" Ahadi said. I smiled and nodded. "Yes" I said.

Ahadi then gave me a hug for the first time. "I love you, Lana" Ahadi said. "I love you too dad" I said. "Have a good time at the movies today and happy birthday" Ahadi said. "Thanks" I said. "And nice costume" Ahadi said. I smiled and made my way to the town. When I got to the town, I walked inside the movies and paid for my ticket to see avengers endgame in imax. There were a lot of Marvel fans at the movies.

I saw people dressed up as their favorite super heros. "Hey, nice costume" A woman said as she walked next to me. "Thanks" I said. The woman was dressed up as Captain Marvel. After a while, we walked into the imax theater and found our seats. After the movie was finished, we all walked outside the theaters.

I then walked back home to pride rock. When I got home, I was greeted by my family. "Hey sweetie, happy birthday" Uru said. I smiled. "Thanks, mom" I said. "Yeah, happy birthday. How was the movie?" Mufasa said. "It was great" I said. "That's good" Mufasa said. "Where is Taka?" I said. "He said he had something important to do" Uru said. "Oh" I said sadly. I was hoping to celebrate my birthday with the whole family. "But forget about him, let's just enjoy your birthday" Mufasa said. I smiled. "Okay" I said.

I then went to celebrate my birthday with my family.
