Chapter 10: Can't wait to be king

Simba, Nala, and I were walking in the pride lands with Zazu flying above us. "Step lively. the sooner we can get to the border, the sooner we can leave" Zazu said. "So where we really going?" Nala said. "An elephant graveyard" Simba whispered. "Wow!" Nala said. "Shh. Zazu and Aunt Lana" Simba whispered. Simba thought I could not hear but I could. "Nice try Simba, but you not going" I said. Simba turned around and looked at me.

"Uhh Aunt Lana I thought you couldn't hear" Simba said. "Yeah, and you can't go to the shadowlands" I said. "Aww but why Aunt Lana?" Simba whined. "Yeah, why can't we go? It's not that bad" Nala said. "The shadowlands are dangerous. plus we can get in trouble. my dad gave me this last time I went to the shadowlans" I said as I pointed at the scar on my right eye. "Oh...I see. but please can we go there.

it's just for a minute then we will be back I promise" Simba said. "And we will be back before anyone finds out. We are making a plan to ditch Zazu" Nala said. I thought for a moment. then I spoke up, "Alright I guess. but we are only going there for one minute and then we are going straight back, understood?" I said. "Yay, thanks Aunt Lana!" Simba said. "Right. so how are we going to ditch the dodo?" Nala said.

Zazu then flew down to us. "Oh look at you two, little seeds of romance blossoming in the savannah. your parents will be thrilled. what with you being betrothed at all" Zazu said. "Be what?" Simba said. "betrothed. intendent. affianced" Zazu said. "Meaning..." Nala said. "One day, you two are going to be married" Zazu said. "Yuck!" Simba cried. "Eww!" Nala cried. "I can't marry her, she's my friend" Simba said.

"Yeah, it be so weird" Nala said. "Sorry to bust your bubble but you two turtle nose have no choice. it is a tradition, going back generations" Zazu said. "And you Lana are going to be married to when you will be queen one day" Zazu said. "Excuse me? But I can't marry a boy. I'm gay" I said. "What's that?" Simba said. "It's kinda hard to explain...

I like girls instead of boys" I said. "In other words, I am more attracted to girls than boys" I said. "Ohh..." Simba said. "Well, don't worry Aunt Lana. When I'm king that will be the first thing to go" Simba said. "Yay!" I said. "Not so long as I'm around" Zazu said. "Well in that case your fired" Simba said. "Mhmm" I said nodding. "Hmm nice try but only the king can do that" Zazu said.

"Well, he's the future king" Nala said. "And I'm gonna be the king's assistant soon, I'll be helping him rule the pride lands" I said. "Yeah, so you'll have to do what Aunt Lana and I tell you" Simba said. "Yeah" I said with a smirk. "Not yet I don't! and with an attitude like that, I'm afraid your shaping up to be a pretty pathetic king, indeed" Zazu said. "Hm not the way I see it" Simba said. Simba then began signing.

"I'm gonna be a mighty king so enemies be aware!" Simba sang. "Well I never seen a king or beast with quite so little hair" Zazu said. "I'm gonna be the main event like no king was before. I'm brushing up I'm looking down, I'm working on my ROAR!" Simba sang. "Oh, I just can't wait to be king!" Simba said. After we finished singing the song, we finally lost Zazu. "All right, it worked" Simba said. "We lost him" Nala said. "I am a genius" Simba said.

"Hey genius it was MY idea" Nala said. "Yeah, well I pulled it off" Simba said. "With me!" Nala said. "oh yeah?" Simba said with a smirk. the cubs then tackled each other and Nala pinned down Simba. "Pinned ya!" Nala said. "Hey, lemme up!" Simba said. Simba then pushed Nala off. I smiled as I watched the cubs playing. Simba then tackled Nala again and they tumbled down the hill. "Guys be careful!" I called as I was running to them.

I was not looking where I was going and I tripped and tumbled down the hill. "Gah!" I cried as I was falling. "oof" I said as I landed on the ground. "Pinned ya again" Nala said. We then heard a loud noise. it was a guiser blowing up. I gasped as I looked at it. I then got up and brushed the dirt off my clothes. "You okay Aunt Lana?" Simba said.

"Yeah I'm fine" I said. We then begain walking further. I knew where we were. The shadowlands. I was getting a bad vibe and the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up. "This is it. we made it" Simba said. "Woah" The cubs said as we got behind a bone. "Isn't this great?" Simba said. "We could get in big trouble" Nala said as she was laughing. "I know!" Simba said with a laugh.

"Okay guys, we've seen enough. Now let's go before our parents find out or something bad happens" I said. I tried to get the cubs to come along but they were not listining to me. "I wonder if it's brains are still in there" Nala said. "Come on guys" I said. They ignored me again. "There is only one way to know. come on, let's go check it out" Simba said. As Simba was going inside the cave, Zazu stopped him.

"Wrong! The only checking out your going to do is to check out of here!" Zazu shouted. "Oh man!" Simba said. "We are way beyond the boundaries of the pride lands" Zazu said as he was shaking. "Look, Banana beak is scared" Simba said. "It's Mr. Banana beak to you fuzzy! and right now we are all in very real danger" Zazu said. "Danger! Hah! I look on the wild side, I laugh in the face of danger, HAHA!" Simba laughed.

"Simba!" I cried. We then heard laughing. Hyenas came crawling out of the cave. oh shit. I and the cubs backed up a bit. Mom, dad, and Mufasa are gonna kill me if I lose Simba. "Well well well Banzi, what do we have here?" Shenzi said. "Oh I don't know Shenzi, uh what do you think Ed?" Banzi said. Ed just laughed. "And just what I was thinking...a trio tresspassers" Shenzi said. "And quite by accident here, let me reassure you" Zazu said.

"Yeah, we'll be going now, bye-bye" I said. As I was about to leave, Shenzi pinned Zazu's tail down and Banzi grabbed me by the arm. "Woah, woah, woah. I know you. your Mufasa's little stoodge!" Shenzi said. "And YOU are Mufasa's little sister" Shenzi said as she pointed at me. I pushed my arm away from Banzi and we went back to the cubs. the hyena's surrounded us. "And that would make you" Shenzi said as she looked at Simba.

"Your future king" Simba said. "Do you know what we do to kings who step into our kingdom?" Shenzi said. "Puh! you can't do anything to me" Simba said. "Yeah!" I shouted. "Actually they can, we are on their land" Zazu said. "But Zazu, you said there nothing but slobbery mangy, stupid pochers" Simba said. "Simba, will you please, shut up?" I said. "Exta on the oopi stay" Zazu said nervously. "Who you calling oopi stay?!" Shenzi said.

"Not my mind, oh look at the sun, it's time to go" Zazu said. "What's the hurry? We'd love for you to stay around dinner" Shenzi said. "Yeah, we can have...whatever is laying around" Banzi said. "No, make mine in cub sandwich...what do you think? Haha!" Banzi laughed. "What Ed?! what is it?!" Shenzi said, annoyed. Ed pointed at us. "Hey...did we order this dinner to go?" Banzi said. "No why?" Shenzi said. "Cause there it goes!" Banzi yelled. "Go! Run!" I cried.

The cubs and I took off running.
