Chapter 20: A new king and queen

Scar and his hyenas have been defeated. Simba and I walked down to ground level where we met the rest of the pride. I felt the rain coming down and felt relieved when I felt the rain pouring down. When we met up with the rest of the pride, Simba and I hugged Sarabi when we saw her. Simba and I also hugged Nala when we saw her too. I hugged my niece, Axane when she walked up to me.

I was looking around for my parents, Uru and Ahadi but I could not find them. Where could they be? I hope they are alright. I looked at Sarabi with concern. "Sarabi, where are my mom and dad?" I asked her with worry. Sarabi had a sad look on her face. "Lana...Your parents died in battle" Sarabi said. My eyes widened in shock and tears were streaming down my face. "Stalker and Misery killed Uru and Ahadi" Sarabi said with sadness in her voice.

More tears were streaming down my face as Sarabi hugged me. I cried into her soft fur. My mom and dad are dead now. Now I have no one. Nala walked up to me and also hugged me. "Don't worry Lana, everything will be okay" Nala said. "But my parents!" I cried.

"We will be here for you Lana, we will still be your family" Nala said with a soft smile. Nala then went over to Simba as I stayed with Sarabi. I was able to stop crying and I wiped my tears away. I am still sad that my parents have died during battle. As Nala and Simba were nuzzling, Rafiki shook his staff and pointed it at pride rock. We looked at the direction he was pointing at. Simba then walked up to Rafiki.

Simba hugged Rafiki and Rafiki smiled at him. "It is time" Rafiki said. Simba said nothing and walked up to the tip of pride rock. We watched as Simba continued walking. When Simba reached the tip of pride rock. I then heard Mufasa's voice in the sky. "Remember" Mufasa said. Simba did a loud roar and the lionesses roared back at him to show him respect for the new king.

A year has passed since the battle of pride rock. It is now the year may of 2022. Simba, Nala, and I are now the new king and queen of pride rock. Even though pride rock has never had a human as a queen, all the animals and the pride respected me as the new queen of pride rock. I don't have a king to rule alongside me right now but that doesn't matter to me right now. I am not ready for marriage right now after my last marriage with Scar.

I am sitting in the shade right now, outside looking out into the distance. I am thankful that the pride lands are now back to normal. Now I can be at peace right now. I still miss my parents, Uru and Ahadi. Uru and Ahadi died during the battle for the pride lands a year ago. "Lana?" A voice said. I looked up and I saw Nala walking up to me.

"Oh hey Nala" I said as I looked up at her. "Are you ready for the ceremony for Kiara?" Nala said with a smile. "Yes Nala, I am" I said. "That's good. The ceremony will start shortly" Nala said. "Okay" I said. Nala and Simba had a cub named Kiara. Nala and I then walked to pride rock. When we walked inside the cave, we saw my grandchild, Kiara resting in Simba's arms. "Aww, she's so cute" I said. Kiara looked up at me with curiosity.

After some time, all the animals in the pride lands gathered near pride rock. When all the animals gathered around, Nala, Simba, and I walked over to the tip of pride rock where Rafiki was waiting for us. Nala was carrying Kiara by the scruff of her neck. Rafiki took Kiara and held her. Rafiki then held up Kiara so the whole pride can see. Simba and Nala stood proudly as the animals in pride rock made noises of exitment. Rafiki then lowered Kiara down and held her in his arms.

Rafiki then painted some juice on her to welcome Kiara into the circle of life. I smiled as Simba and Nala nuzzled Kiara and purred happily. I looked up into the sky and I saw Uru and Ahadi watching over me. I also saw my brother, Mufasa watching me from the sky too. I smiled at them and I looked back at Simba and Nala.

Timon and Pumbaa were also looking at Kiara. "Ah, Pumbaa look at that little guy. A chip off the old block! And ya gotta know who's gonna raise him" Timon said. "His parents?" Pumbaa said. "Okay, sure get technical. but who's gonna teach him the really important stuff? Like how to belch" Timon said as he did a loud burp. I giggled a bit.

"And dig for grubs" Timon said. "I'm telling you, buddy, It's gonna be like old times. You, me, and the little guy" Timon said. I caught myself giggling. What Timon and Pumbaa didn't know was that Kiara is a girl. Rafiki chuckled at Timon's comment. "It is a girl" Rafiki said. "Girl" Timon said. Timon and Pumbaa then looked at each other with surprise. "GIRL?!" They both cried with shock. Timon and Pumbaa then fainted.

I giggled. I then looked at my granddaughter and felt her soft fur. Kiara purred as I was petting her fur. "I think she likes you" Simba said with a smile. "Yeah" I said. "You'll take care of my daughter too, right Lana?" Simba said. "Of course" I said with a smile. "Thanks Aunt Lana" Simba said. I smiled and hugged Simba. Simba hugged me back. "Congratulations by the way" I said. "Thanks,q Lana" Nala said. "Your welcome" I said.

"I am gonna go rest for a little bit" I said. "Okay, come get us if you need anything" Nala said. "Okay thanks" I said. I then walked to my room and closed the door behind me. I smiled to myself, knowing that I can live in the pride lands peacefully. Pride rock feels different without my family, Uru, Ahadi, and Mufasa. But at least I still have Simba, Nala, Axane, Kiara, Nala, and the rest of the pride here with me as my family too.

I decided to lay down in my bed. I let my thoughts drift me off into a deep sleep.
