Chapter 22: Kovu

I ran after Kiara as she was running towards the outlands. "Kiara, wait!" I called as I continued running after her. I caught up with Kiara. "Kiara, I think we should turn around before Simba notices" I said. "Come on grandma, it's just a look and then I will turn around" Kiara said as she was running on a log toward the outlands. Kiara tripped and fell on the log. What Kiara didn't know was that an outlander was standing before her.

At least the outlander was a cub, so there isn't really a chance of him hurting her. The cub growled angrily as he walked towards Kiara. "What are you doing here, pridelander?!" The cub shouted angrily at her. "Hey, back off!" I yelled as I stood in front of Kiara. Kiara and the cub were trying to get past each other. "What are you doing?" The cub said confused. "My father says to never turn your back on an outlander!" Kiara shouted.

"You always do what daddy says?" The cub said with a smirk. "No!" Kiara snapped. "Bet you do, bet your daddy's little girl! An outlander dosn't need anybody. I take care of myself!" The cub said. "Really?" Kiara said as she walked towards him. "Cool" Kiara said. What the cub and Kiara didn't realize was that they were sitting right on top of coccidial. "Guys, look out!" I cried.

I quickly transference into my warframe as the coccidial rose up and started to attack Kiara and the cub. Kiara and the cub screamed as they realized they were being attacked. I drew out my sword and attacked the coccidial. Kiara and the cub ran to safety and I ran after them. "That was a close one" The cub said with a giggle. "yeah" Kiara said also giggling. The cubs then screamed when the coccidial continued to attack.

"Hey, what about me?!" Kiara cried. "I'll distract them, run!" the cub cried. The cub continued to distract the coccidials and I helped Kiara to safety. Kiara and the cub then ran up a tree branch and to ground, into the pride lands. They then looked over to the ledge and saw that the croccidials were cornered. "I did it" Kiara said.

"I did it!" Kiara cried. She giggled and spat at them. "hah!" The cub said with a smirk. Kiara and the cub then walked away. I trancfuranced out of my warframe and Kiara and the cub giggled. "Woah, man did you see those size of those teeth! They were going rawr rawr raw! He just totally ate me up right there! and I jumped on his head and bopped him so good! We make such a good team. and you...you were really brave" Kiara said.

"Yeah? You were pretty brave too. my name's Kovu" The cub said. Kiara giggled and said, "I'm Kiara" I heard a low growl from somewhere and looked around. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up. "Tag, your it!" Kiara cried as she tapped Kovu. "Tag, you're it! your it!" Kiara said as she giggled. Kiara then became annoyed that Kovu wasn't playing with her. "Hello? You run? I tag, get it?" Kiara said.

"What's the matter? Don't you know how to play?" Kiara said. "Kiara, I don't think he's interested in that game" I whispered into her ear. "Oh..." Kiara said. Kiara then bend down and begain growling at Kovu playfully. Kovu was interested, so he bends down and growled too. I then heard a huge lion's roar.

I gasped with fright and saw that it was my nephew, Simba. Kiara and I got behind him. I then heard another roar and looked up and saw that it was a female lion. They growled at each other. "Zira" Simba said with a low growl. "Simba" Zira said with interest. I looked and saw the rest of the pride was with us.

"Nala" Zira said. "Zira" Nala said with a dark tone. "Timon, Pumbaa. Great, now that we all know each other, GET OUT OF OUR PRIDE LANDS!" Timon yelled. "Your pride lands?!" Zira said and roared at him. Timon whimpered and hid behind Pumbaa. "These lands belong to Scar" Zira said. "I banished you from the pride lands. Now you and your young cub. get out" Simba said in a firm tone. "Oh, I don't think so" A voice said.

A lion stepped out of the shadows and I gasped with fright. My husband, Scar was standing before us. But how? I thought the hyenas ate him alive and killed him. Scar smirked at me when he saw me. "Nice to see you again, Lana" Scar said. "Keep away from her" Simba said as he got in front of me. "Don't go near him Aunt Lana" Simba warned me. "Oh, haven't you met my son, Kovu? And Scar, my husband?" Zira said. "What?!" I cried.

"That's right. Zira and I are married. but don't think for a second we have divorced Lana. I am still married to you, even though I am married to Zira" Scar said. "Yes. And Kovu was hand-chosen by Scar. To fallow in his pawprints. and become king" Zira said. Simba growled at the young cub. Kovu shook in fear. Timon spat. "That's not a king. that's a fuzzy maracca" Timon said. "Kovu was the last born.

before you exiled us into the outlands. Where we have little food, less water" Zira said. "You know the penalty for returning to the pride lands" Simba snapped. "But the child does not! However, if you need your pound of flesh, here" Zira said as she pushed Kovu towards Simba. I then looked at Scar with confusion. "Scar, how are you alive?" I said. "Don't talk to him, Aunt Lana!" Simba snapped at me. "Take him and get out. we're finished here" Simba said in a dark tone.

Simba then picked me up by the scruff of my neck and put me onto his back. Simba picked up Kiara by the scruff of her neck too. Zira then walked up to us and smirked. "Oh no Simba. We have barely begun" Zira said as she smirked. "Oh, and if you wanna know how I am alive, Lana. I was able to get away from the hyenas and went into hiding" Scar said. Simba gave Scar a low growl as we left. "Bye" Kovu whispered. "Bye" Kiara whispered back.

"Simba?" Nala said. Simba stopped and cleared his throat. Nala smiled at him as they left. Simba then set Kiara down gently on a rock. Simba picked me up and set me gently down on the rock next to Kiara. Kiara smiled at him, nervously but Simba gave her a glare. "Kiara, Aunt Lana, what were you two thinking? you both could have been killed today" Simba said. "But daddy, I didn't mean too..." Kiara said but was cut off by Simba.

"I'm telling you two this because I love you. I don't wanna lose you" Simba said. "I know" Kiara said. "If something happened to you, I don't know what I would do" Simba said. "One day, I won't be here. And I need you to carry on in my place" Simba said. "You are a part of the great..." Simba said. "Circle of life, I know" Kiara said.

"Exactly. And I need you to be careful. As future queen" Simba said. "What if I don't wanna be queen? It's no fun" Kiara said. "That's like saying you don't wanna be a lion. It's in your blood, as I am. We are a part of each other" Simba said. "Hmm" Kiara said. Simba then pushed Kiara off the rock. Simba smiled.

Simba and Kiara then begin singing. I ran with them to catch up until we got back to pride rock. Simba and Kiara looked at each other. "As long as you live here, it's who you are" Simba said as he hugged both me and Kiara. "You'll understand someday" Simba said as he licked Kiara.

Simba smiled at us as he walked back into the cave.
