Chapter 23: Kiara's first hunt
A year later, Kiara is now a full-grown lioness. Kiara is going on her first hunt today. I am also going with Kiara since this will be my first hunt too. I have never really gone hunting before and Simba and Nala wanted me to go with Kiara to learn how to hunt. Simba, Nala, and I are waiting with the other lioness for Kiara to walk out of the cave. "Kiara" Rafiki said as Kiara walked out of the cave.
Lionesses were murmuring excitedly as Kiara was walking towards us. When Kiara walked up to us, Nala rubbed Kiara with her chin. "You'll do just fine" Nala said with a smile. Kiara then looked at Simba. "Daddy? You have to promise me and Grandma that you'll let me do this on our own. promise?" Kiara said. Simba looked at us for a minute. "Please, Simba" I said. Simba is very worried about me getting captured by Scar again.
Or worse, killed. Simba sighed and said, "All right, I promise" He said. Kiara and I ran up to hug him. Simba hugged us back. Kiara and I then ran. As we were running, we stopped to look at Simba. Simba nodded at us. "Come on Kiara, let's go" I said. "Okay" I said.
We continued to run into the pride lands until we spotted a herd of antelopes. Kiara and I hid in the grass but a twig snapped and the antelopes got scared and ran off. Kiara and I chased after the antelopes. When we lost them, Kiara and I stopped to walk for a minute. I was out of breath but I wanted to catch my first antelope. When we spotted them again, we crept on them but Kiara accidentally pushed a rock with her feet.
This scared the antelopes and they ran off. Kiara and I chased after them again. We continued chasing after them until we spotted Timon and Pumbaa. They screamed when they saw us. I grew angry, so did Kiara. "Timon, what are you doing here?" Kiara said. "Uh...shopping. we thought a nice pelt for the den, some throw pillows, a little potpourri" Timon said nervously. Pumbaa nodded nervously.
"My father sent you. After he promised to let me do this on my own, he lied!" Kiara said with anger in his voice. "I thought I could trust him" I said, also angry. "No, he just doesn't want you two to get hurt" Timon said. "I should have known he'd never given me a real chance. I'll do this on my own, away from the pride lands!" Kiara shouted. I followed Kiara as she and I continued running away from Timon and Pumbaa, and away from the pride lands.
When we were away from the pride lands, Kiara and I stopped to catch our breath and we continued walking. I was mad at Simba that he wouldn't let me do this on our own. We saw a herd of antelopes and we chased after them. We stopped when we smelled something weird. "What's that smell?" I said. "I don't know, but..." Kiara was cut off when we saw a fire heading towards us. We gasped and we ran along with the antelopes.
We continued running away from the fire. As we continued running away from the fire, we saw a ledge. We quickly grabbed onto the ledge and we climbed up onto the ledge. We got onto the ledge and we fell to the ground. My eyes were watery and they were filled with smoke. As I was about to pass out, I saw two male lions standing before us. both of them had black mane, brown fur, but one of them had a scar on their eye.
In a few minutes, I passed out.
When I woke up, I coughed a bit and slowly sat up. I looked around and noticed that I was in a cave but a boulder blocked the entrance. I ran towards the boulder and tried to push it down, but no matter how hard I tried, the boulder would not move. I sighed and I sat back down. I had a feeling that I was in the outlands because the ground was dried up. But why was I in the outlands?
My question was answered when the boulder pushed opened and Scar and Zira walked towards me. Fear took over my body when I saw them and I backed up until my body was against the wall. "What do you guys want with me?!" I spat angrily. "Well Lana, we brought you here because you are going to help us take down Simba" Scar said with a smirk. "What?! Why?!" I said with shock. "Because my first plan did not work.
But now since I figured I have you to help me, my plan will be better to help me take down Simba" Scar said. I said nothing and rolled my eyes. I would not help them take down Simba. "Don't you roll your eyes at me!" Scar yelled as he slapped me hard in the face. "I will not help you take down Simba" I said.
Zira smirked at me and placed her paw under my chin, forcing me to look at her. "Oh you will. And if you refuse, then I guess we will have to kill you" Zira said as she sharpened her claws and pointed them at me. "No Zira, we will not kill her yet" Scar said. "But why? I thought you said we could kill her" Zira said. "That is only if she refuses to help us.
for now, I need her alive" Scar said. "But she refused the first time we told her to" Zira said. "I know, but let's just wait for now. If she still refuses, we will kill her" Scar said. Zira sighed. "Okay" Zira said. "Just leave for now Zira, Let me finish dealing with Lana" Scar said. "Fine" Zira said. Zira then left and now it was just me and Scar. Scar then pinned me to the wall and looked at me with a dark look in his eyes.
"Listen to me Lana, if you do not help me take down Simba then I will kill you, understand?!" Scar shouted as he pointed his claws at me. "Okay, okay. I'll help you take down Simba" I said. Scar smirked at me. "Good choice, Lana" Scar said. "And don't even think about escaping" Scar said. With that, Scar left, leaving me alone.
Kiara's POV:
When I woke up, I saw that I was safe, away from the fire. But I didn't know where I was. "Where...where am I?" I asked, groggily. "Your safe, in the pride lands" A voice said. I looked up and I saw a male lion who had black mane, brown fur, and green eyes. He looked familiar to me. "The pride lands? No! Why did you bring me here?! Who do you think you are?!" I yelled.
"I think I'm the one that just saved your life!" The lion said. "Look, me and grandma had everything under control! And...where is my grandma anyway?" I said. He ignored my question and said, "well, not from where I'm standing" The lion said. "Then move downwind" I said. I tried to move but he kept blocking my way. "What are you doing?" He said with confusion. I immediately recognized him. "Kovu?" I said with a smile.
Kovu smiled at me. "Kiara!" A voice yelled. I then heard a roar and saw my dad, Simba running up to us. I also saw my mom, Nala running up to me also. "Kiara, your all right" Nala said as she rubbed my head. "Father, how could you break your promise?!" I said angrily. "It's a good thing I did, I almost lost you and my Aunt! No more hunts for you, not ever!" Simba shouted. "But I was doing just fine...Even before Kovu" I said but Simba cut me off.
"Kovu?!" Simba shouted. Simba and Kovu roared at each other. I still don't see my grandma anywhere which is not good. "hey! You! How dare you save the king's daughter?!" Rafiki yelled. "You saved her?! Why?" Simba asked Kovu angrily. "I humbly asked to join your pride" Kovu said.
"No! you were banished with the other outsiders" Simba said. "I left the outsiders, I'm a rouge. judge me now for who I am or am I to be blamed for a crime that I didn't comit" Kovu said. Simba growled and began pacing around. "Simba, you owe him your daughter's life" Nala said. "Yes sire, clearly we are in his debt. and royal protocols demands that all debts be paid. though in this case, you might want to make an acception" Zazu said.
Simba smirked at Kovu and said, "My father's law will prevail. for now, I reserve judgment. we'll see who you really are" Simba said. As we were about to leave we stopped when Nala spoke up. "Wait, where's Lana?" Nala said. Simba looked around. "I don't know, we were running away from the fire and now she's not here" Kiara said.
"Did you do something with my Aunt?!" Simba yelled at Kovu and growled. "I did nothing with her, I swear" Kovu said. "If you did something with her I swear I'll" Simba was cut off by Nala. "Calm down Simba, let's just go home for now and we will find her tomorrow" Nala said. Simba sighed. "Fine, we will send a search party for her tomorrow" Simba said.
with that, we all left back home to pride rock.
