Everything is told from Percy's POV enjoy.
A couple of days after escaping from the Labyrinth, I found myself walking around the camp lake with Annabeth. I've been zoning in and out of our conversation because ever since she got Daedalus's super magical laptop thingy, she just wouldn't stop talking about architecture and other things that are completely over my head. I tuned back in for a second.
" This schematic here is so cool! This right here is a design for a self-repairing bridge that takes..."
Nevermind I don't care. I absent-mindedly nodded my head to pretend that I was still engaged in the conversation. Yea the high tech laptop was cool and all, but quite frankly, I could never share Annabeth's interest in Architecture. Now that I think about it, it's kind of ironic that we have this super cool laptop, but are only using it for these boring schematics some old dude spent his life works on. Wait I just had a crazy idea.
"And this one uses hypernanotechnology that allows you to transform your car into various vehicles like-"
"Woah woah woah Annabeth stop for a second, I have an amazing idea!" I interrupted.
"What," she snarked out, annoyed to be interrupted in the middle of her rant.
"Can you hand me that laptop for a second?" I replied.
She looked reluctant, but handed it over grudgingly.
Hmmm lets see here... I carelessly exited out of all the various tabs Annabeth had open of useless Daedalus stuff and started to examine the machine.
"Hey!" She shouted in retalliation to me getting rid of all her stuff.
Interesting, even though it was probably hundreds of years old, if not thousands, it seemed to be running Windows 10 flawlessly. It seems that Daedalus kept up with the times and used modern software.
I popped open the settings application to check out the hardware inside. My eyes bulged at what was in front of me. The cpu was called, "The Big Daedalus 26" which I guess was kind of funny, but more importantly there was 1 trillion of terabytes of both ram and storage!
"Holy shit," I mumbled underneath my breath. This was gamechanging. This was absolutely nuts. The ram was the same size as the hardrive for gods sake, who the hell does that?!
"What's got you all riled up Seaweed Brain?" Annabeth replied.
I just mutely pointed at the displayed ram on the screen.
"So what? it's just a high number, what even is ram anyways?" She replied.
I physically recoiled at that statement. Does she really know nothing about computers?
I looked at her in horror, "You really don't know what RAM is? What kind of daughter of Athena even are you?"
"Look I never really cared about computer specs okay?" she replied offended.
"Alright fine I'll give you a free pass this time" I replied.
With that out of the way I decided to look at the refresh rate of the display.
"Wait... what the hell?!" I exclaimed.
"What is it? What's wrong? Did something go wrong with the computer?" she replied.
"Annabeth, there's no easy way to say this... the refresh rate of the monitor is... it's... IT'S OVER 9 THOUSNDDDDD AHHHHH"
And it was, the refresh rate of the Daedalus display was a whopping 9001.
"Annabeth i hereby declare this the best gaming laptop ever!"
