This might very well grow into something bigger, as I've already gotten an idea on where this story is going. Anyways, this is a snippet, enjoy!
~ Light In Darkness ~
Summary: Albus Severus Potter spends time with his secret crush. This is positioned in the Cursed Child, around the time when Albus first meets Delphi. But I've twisted it so there's no Delphi in this story, but there's certainly someone else...
Main Characters: Albus S. Potter, Jayslyn A. (OC)
Genre: Romance
Universe: Next Generation
Rating: K+
It was the first time that they had a real conversation.
Of course, Rose had invited her more than once in the summer hols and on Christmas, and they did make polite conversation when all of them were gathered together, having dinner at the Borrow, with friends and family. They were also in the same house. Slytherin. And nodded to each other when meeting in the corridors of Hogwarts. Yet that didn't make much of a difference to the fact that they were strangers, familiar strangers.
He was a boy, she, a girl. He was shy and she was out-going. He only had Scorpius as a true friend whereas she... She was the Slytherin princess, liked not only by people in their house, but throughout the whole school; People followed her and was awed by her because of her intelligence, and name. Grindelwald. That alone meant glory, respect, and even fear. He... he had always been the odd-ball of house Potter. They couldn't have been more different.
Yet now they sat, side-by-side on the staircase of the Borrow, both eaves-dropping on the conversation between aunt Hermione, uncle Ron and his father, as they talked about a confiscated time-turner. He soon got bored of it though. He'd heard the story of aunt Hermione using her time-turner to save the day too many times to count. So he turned to look at his companion, who was sitting beside him and listening in rapt attention.
The Grindelwalds were known to be beautiful, alluring, and they used it to their advantage. Charming and wooing were only the basics in their book. It was the aura that surrounds them that drew people to them, their charisma and magnetism. Something their infamous ancestor, Gellert Grindelwald was especially famous for, now reflected perfectly on his great-granddaughter. And Albus Severus Potter could see why people comment on their similarities.
Jayslyn Aquarius Grindelwald was Helen of Troy reborn. Hair only a few shades darker that Malfoy blond, fell in waves down her shoulders, almost to her waist. Her features were sharp, sculpted out of finest marble, with an Eastern Europe tinge to it, and held that exotic allure her Gellert Grindelwald was famous for when he was young. Something that drew the eyes of all in the vicinity. Yet what Albus found most compelling was her eyes. A sea of aquamarine that could switch from cold and aloof to warm and merry in a second, and almost always held a mischievous glint that gravitates people towards her. She glowed, like a bright warm light on a cold, dark night.
"We'd better get going." Jayslyn suddenly whispers, getting up on her tip-toes and breaking him out of his reverie. "Their conversation will finish in approximately one minute." She then looked down at where he still sat on the staircase.
"Are you coming?" And he hastily got up, stumbling a little due to the stiffness in his legs, before following her as they climbed the stairs to their rooms. They parted on the second landing as she was sharing with Rose in aunt Ginny's old room. He shared with Hugo in uncle Fred and George's room. He was grateful that the adults hadn't put him with James.
"Well, I suppose I'll see you later then, Albus. Goodnight." She smiled softly at him before closing the door.
"Yes. Ummm... See you." Albus mumbled, then stood for a moment on the landing before he heard voices and hurried to his room.
Rose was fast asleep when Jayslyn tip-toed into the room, and she breathed a sigh of relief. Sliding open the window, she squat on the sill, giving her friend one last look before letting herself fall gracefully backwards into the night.
Nothing better than a night fly to gather thoughts. As Jayslyn did laps around the village, Ottery St. Catchpole in her animargious form as a blue jay, she pondered her next step. It would be hard to get her hands on the time-turner, she would need help this time. Yet who? Someone who knew the golden-trio well enough to go undetected when using Polly juice.
Their children, maybe? That would be much easier.
Not Rose. That was her instant thought. Rose had never been a keen rule-breaker, and this meant stealing from the Ministry itself.
James would be more suitable, and someone she was pretty familiar with. Yet there was the fact that he was very brash and too Gryffindor for this.
Lily and Hugo were both fine, lovely really. But they were only second years, too young to take a dangerous trip like this. Jayslyn would never forgive herself if they were hurt because of her.
So there was really no choice, was there?
It had to be.
Jayslyn swooped low over the river, enjoying the coolness of the breeze as it ruffled her feathers. She needed to think. How could she manipulate Albus Severus Potter into stealing the time-turner? There has to be a good reason, otherwise Scorpious who would surely be on this thing would stop him. And she couldn't just tell him the truth, that was way too dangerous.
When light shines in the dark, when remorse is felt, when spares are spared
Then the clock shall be turned, and the father longed for returns
The prophecy echoed in her mind, swirling in her thoughts, then realization hit her, hard, and she knew what had to be done.
Jayslyn then flew high, high up into the sky, soaring in the winds as she sang in joy of her discovery.
It was so simple, so easy.
The spare. Kill the spare.
This was it. The key, was Cedric Diggory.
