Maggie and Jubal's sister Jenny had hit it off from the first time that they had met, and they had been trying to get a night out together since they first met. They both finally found a night that suited them both and they weren't letting anything get in the way of their night out. Even though Maggie was exhausted after just wrapping up a case she was still excited about going out tonight. Jubal felt a little nervous about his sister and girlfriend going out together for the first time, he knew that they had got on well, but this was their first time hanging out together without him being there too. Both women had told him that they would be fine, the only reason they hadn't done this sooner was because of work.
Turns out that Jubal really had nothing to worry about, Maggie and Jen got on better than any of them could have imagined or hoped for. They had gone for something to eat and then to a bar to have drinks which turned in to dancing after some shots. They may have both got carried away with their drinking a little as they were both letting go for the first time in a really long time as work had been stressful for them both lately. They had both stumbled home to Maggie and Jubal's apartment, Jen had decided to stay with them as according to her, her apartment was just too far away right now.
Jubal was sound asleep until he heard noise in their bedroom, he leaned over turning on the lamp beside him and raised an eyebrow watching Maggie who was running her hands along the wall trying to find her way around their bedroom.
"You need some help there baby?." He chuckled softly when she nearly jumped hearing his voice.
"Ssshhhh. Go back to sleep, I'm just going to grab some clothes and crash in the spare room. I smell like a bar." She pulled a face at Jubal as she finally found the shorts and t-shirt that she was looking for and held them up above her head "Woohoo found them.. okay we are good. Pretend you didn't see me."
Jubal laughed shaking his head as he watched her so proud of herself when she found her shorts and T-shirt, well his t-shirt actually. "I'm guessing that you and my sister had fun tonight? And baby you don't have to sleep in the spare room, I can handle being around the smell of drink."
"We maybe had a little too much fun, but totally worth it… I might not say that tomorrow though." She stopped walking as she was trying to make her way back towards their door to leave and she turned her head hearing Jubal "You sure? Because I really don't mind sleeping in one of our spare rooms."
Jubal climbed out of their bed and came over to Maggie running his hands along her arms slowly "I'm going to remind you that you said it was totally worth it tomorrow" he smirked playfully as he leaned down and kissed her forehead "I'm more than sure Mags, I promise. If it was going to bother me I would tell you because I know that you would sleep in the spare room if it was easier for me." It honestly meant a lot to Jubal that even though Maggie was clearly drunk she was still thinking about what was best for him and that made his heart happy. "Why don't you get changed for bed and I'll grab you your things so that you can take off your makeup before you fall asleep."
"You really are the best boyfriend in the world, you know that right? I mean honestly if there was an award you would win it." Maggie smiled looking at Jubal as she lay her hands on his shoulders to balance herself better. "You really are the sweetest man ever Jubal Valentine, in case I didn't say it enough today I really do love you." She leaned up kissing his cheek before stepping back and making her way to her side of the bed as she started to undress.
Jubal shook his head laughing watching and listening to Maggie, this was his first time seeing Maggie drunk and it was certainly something that he wasn't going to forget anytime soon or let her forget anytime soon. He watched her make her way to the bed before he disappeared into their en-suite to gather the things she needed to take off her makeup, thankfully he had seen her do this enough to know what she needed. He came back out to the bedroom and smiled seeing Maggie sitting in bed resting back against the headboard.
"You have the bed nice and warm" She smiled looking at him like he had done the greatest thing in the world.
"Well I have been in it for the last few hours, I was exhausted by the time that I got home from work after my meeting with Isobel." He came over to the bed and sat down beside Maggie handing her everything she needed as he climbed back in to his side of the bed "Do I need to go check that you locked the door?." He raised his eyebrow playfully.
"I'm sorry for wakening you, I should have just passed out in the spare room in my clothes." Maggie glanced at Jubal before starting to take her makeup off. "No we managed to finally get it locked, it took us some work but we got there."
"We?."
"Oh yeah your sister is passed out downstairs, her apartment was too far away apparently so I told her she could crash here."
Jubal shook his head laughing "Oh so I'm going to have you both hungover first thing tomorrow morning?."
"Hey! There will be no hangover, we are not that drunk."
"Erm baby, you do realise you were feeling our wall trying to help you make your way around our bedroom?."
"I was just trying to quietly move around so that I didn't waken you, that's the only reason I was using the wall for support." She smiled so sweetly at Jubal which just had him laughing even more.
"God I love you so dam much, but you are going to be so hungover in the morning." Jubal smiled watching Maggie as she finished taking her makeup off setting everything on to her bedside table, and then she slid down the bed moving close to him laying her head on his shoulder.
"You sure you are okay if I lay this close to you?." She was running her fingertips along his chest while talking to him.
"I'm sure baby, I promise, now close your eyes and get some sleep because we actually do have work tomorrow." Jubal kissed Maggie's head and chuckled when she groaned at the mention of work.
It didn't take long for Maggie to fall asleep and Jubal wasn't far behind her, she groaned putting her hand over her ear hearing Jubal's alarm ringing as she mumbled "Jubal, if you make that noise stop I will seriously love you forever."
Jubal had been sound asleep until he heard the alarm and then Maggie mumbling as she snuggled in tighter to his neck, he chuckled hearing her "Oh so you'll only love me forever if I turn the alarm off huh?."
"No, you know you are stuck with me now, but if you turn that alarm off I'll love you even more." She placed a small kiss to his neck when she was finished speaking.
Jubal laughed softly as he reached over lifting his phone and turned off his alarm before wrapping both of his arms back around Maggie kissing her head. "So how's the head this morning baby?."
Maggie was trying to snuggle in even tighter to Jubal which had him laughing as it was physically impossible for her to snuggle any tighter to him. She ran her hand from his chest to his cheek keeping her face nuzzled in his neck. "I need coffee, then water.. lots of it… maybe I need water then coffee."
Jubal ran his fingers through Maggie's hair slowly "You want to stay here and I'll go and get you coffee and water and then you can decide which you need first?."
Maggie loved this man, she had woken him drunk last night and yet he was still wanting to take care of her this morning when she woke up with the hangover from hell. "Hmm as tempting as that is, I think I need to go check on your sister. And if I stay here any longer I won't be getting out of this bed all day."
"Okay baby then we can both go downstairs, but I've a feeling my sister is going to be nursing the same hangover as you." Jubal kissed Maggie's head and chuckled when she hadn't moved yet "Eh Mags, I can't move until you do, you are kinda lying on me."
Maggie groaned "Do you know how much work it's going to take to move?." She placed another kiss to Jubal's neck before finally moving off of him as she rolled over and sat up letting her feet hang over the side of the bed. "Oh God, sitting up was not a good idea, our bedroom is spinning right now right? It's not just me."
Jubal had climbed out of bed when Maggie had rolled over to her side, he was sliding on a T-shirt when he heard her about their bedroom spinning which just had him laughing again "That is definitely just in your head Mags." He lifted his hoodie and walked over to Maggie handing it to her "Here put this on and then we can go downstairs if you can make it that far."
Maggie thanked Jubal for the hoodie as she slid it on and then she pulled a face at him hearing him say about her making it downstairs. She took his hands when he held them out to help her stand up "I think your sister and I both forgot that we aren't young people anymore." She leaned against Jubal as they made their way downstairs.
"Ah so you two were trying to drink like you both didn't have work to get up for this morning?" Jubal smirked playfully as they made their way in to the living room.
"God Jubal, you don't have to shout she is right beside you." Jenny groaned rolling over on the couch.
Jubal laughed when he saw his sister laying on the couch with a blanket over her "Is that seriously as far as you made it last night?."
"Hey, do not judge me baby brother, you are lucky I made it up those dam steps outside."
"Just how much did you two have to drink last night?."
"I lost count after the third round of shots." Jenny answered Jubal as she tried to sit up.
"Oh I wouldn't try that Jen, you will regret sitting up." Maggie looked at Jenny as she stood leaning against Jubal, resting her head on his shoulder.
Jubal shook his head laughing watching them both "Seriously? You two thought shots were a good idea?" He kissed Maggie's head "Why don't you sit beside Jen and I will bring you both coffee and water."
Maggie kissed Jubal's cheek before she sat down on the edge of the couch leaning her head back against it closing her eyes, as Jenny decided to sit up and held her head when she did. "Oh fun, the room is spinning. Yeah this is going to be a fun day. And hey the shots were not our idea, they were bought for us and it would have been rude to refuse them. If your girlfriend didn't attract male attention then we may have skipped the shots." Jenny teased playfully.
"Wait men bought the shots for you?"Jubal looked at his sister raising his eyebrow.
"Well they bought them for Mags, I was just happy to help her drink them." Jenny smirked playfully.
Maggie opened one eye looking at Jen as she reached out slapping her arm playfully and lightly "Are you trying to give your brother a heart attack?."
"What?! Nothing I have said is a lie. I mean I can only remember us paying for two drinks last night, the rest were mostly thanks to you."
Maggie groaned when she heard Jen but before she could speak Jubal was standing in front of them with cups of coffee handing them to Maggie and Jen as he looked at them "So just how many men are we talking about, and what exactly happened?."
Maggie could see the jealously in Jubal's eyes, she understood it, even though he knew that she would never cheat on him, she would be jealous if she heard about other women being near him or flirting with him. Maggie reached out taking Jubal's hand gently pulling him to sit down beside her which wasn't easy to do with how tense he was holding himself.
"There was a few, they tried talking to me and your sister. Nothing happened, I told them straight away that we were both taken, most of them took the hint straight away."
"And the one that didn't soon found out that Mags was an FBI agent and that no matter how much alcohol we had in our system she could still kick his ass." Jenny laughed as she sipped her coffee groaning when laughing made her head hurt even more.
Jubal turned his head looking at Maggie squeezing her hand gently as it was still resting in his "One of them wouldn't take no for an answer?."
"He tried to get a little handsy, and I nicely told him if he ever wanted to have kids in his future that he should back off or I would arrest him for assaulting an FBI agent." Maggie chuckled softly as she looked at Jubal caressing his hand with her thumb gently.
"That's my girl." Jubal chuckled softly leaning in kissing Maggie's forehead leaving his lips there for a minute before pulling back and looking at his sister nudging her leg gently "You totally deserve the hangover you have right now." He teased playfully.
"Oh come on you are just so easy to wind up at times, I wasn't giving up such a perfect opportunity. But now that I've had my fun I can tell you that Mags shut them down immediately when they approached us, no matter how hot some of them were." Jenny leaned forward pointing at Maggie "And I swear if you say out loud again that none of them are as good looking as my brother I am not responsible for being sick here." She joked playfully with Maggie.
Maggie laughed as she lay her head on Jubal's shoulder "Oh My God. I totally forgot that I said that to you last night."
"I wish I could forget that you said it." Jenny shook her head joking playfully with Maggie as she had actually smiled last night when she noticed that Maggie really didn't have any interest in anyone that wasn't Jubal. "There are some things that I do not need to hear about my brother and that is one of them along with never needing to know that my brother is a good kisser." Jenny made a motion pretending that she was going to be sick.
This had Maggie laughing even harder as a slight blush appeared on her face "I really should not be allowed that much alcohol ever again. I mean it sounded like the right thing to say at the time last night."
Jubal raised an eyebrow as he wrapped his arm around Maggie and looked at his sister smirking playfully "Could you not have started this conversation by giving me that information instead of telling me that men were flirting with my girlfriend when I wasn't there?."
"Now where would the fun have been in that for me." Jenny laughed as she looked at Jubal "Hey be thankful I am even telling you about the nice stuff, I mean seriously not something I need reminded of right now."
Jubal could see the smile that his sister had even though she was teasing him, he knew that Maggie talking that way about him and shutting down other's so quickly meant a lot to his sister, especially with how much alcohol they had both clearly drank. He ran his fingers through Maggie's hair slowly "I think I am going to need to hear why you were telling my sister that you think I'm a good kisser."
"And I think I need to leave for this conversation, my stomach can't handle it." Jenny joked as she stood up groaning at her light head as she sat her coffee mug down and made her way to the bathroom.
Maggie laughed watching Jen as she titled her head to look up at Jubal "Because one of the guys told me that if I just let him kiss me I would change my mind but I told him that no one could ever kiss me like you. That you were my favourite person to kiss and that he could never even come to close to being able to kiss a woman like you."
Maggie had just finished speaking when Jubal leaned forward kissing her slowly but with so much love, he knew that Maggie had drank water last night before falling asleep, had brushed her teeth several times this morning and had drank her coffee so there would be no taste of alcohol. Maggie lifted her free hand to Jubal's cheek as she kissed him back with just as much love, only breaking the kiss when she had to for air but she lay her forehead gently against his.
"You really okay about last night? I promise any guy that came near me was told about you straight away and the guy that wouldn't back off did as soon as I basically threatened him." She spoke softly as she caressed Jubal's cheek with her thumb.
Jubal smiled leaning into the touch on his cheek as he ran his fingers through Maggie's hair and along her back slowly "I'm okay baby I promise, I saw you before you left last night, I saw how beautiful you looked, how beautiful you look right now, I can understand them trying to chat you up, but I trust you completely Mags. And I know that after last night my sister knows that you would never cheat on me, she saw that with her own eyes."
"Jubal I look a mess right now, I'm hungover and lying in your hoodie." She shook her head chuckling which made their noses brush as they were still resting their foreheads against each other. "Why would I cheat on you when you are everything that I could ever want and more." Maggie smiled as she kissed Jubal again.
Jen chose that moment to walk back in to the living room "As sweet as you two are, you are making it hard to keep my coffee down and we really need to go so that you can drop me home as I have a meeting at 26 fed in less than an hour and well I need some work before then."
Jubal pulled his head back to look at Jen "If you are looking me to drop you home you should try being a little bit nicer to me." He teased playfully.
"We both know this is me being nice to you when I am this hungover, so come on lovebirds move it." Jen joked playfully with them both.
Maggie shook her head laughing and stood up pulling Jubal up with her as they both headed upstairs to get ready for the day at work. When they came back down Jen had put away the blanket and had cleaned up their cups, they dropped her off at her apartment and she told Jubal she might call in with him if she had time after her meeting. Maggie had to sit through a meeting with the team and Isobel, she had spent the whole time rubbing her forehead as her headache was starting to get worse, it sounded like everyone in the conference room was shouting when really they were just talking.
After the meeting Maggie was sitting at the front of the JOC at the desk doing some paperwork when Jubal appeared beside her setting down a cup of coffee for her "I thought that you might need this after the meeting, I saw how much you were rubbing your forehead."
Maggie lifted her head smiling softly at Jubal "You really are amazing you know that right?."
"Well according to you last night if there was an award for best boyfriend I would win it." Jubal smirked playfully looking at Maggie.
"I am never drinking with your sister again." She laughed softly as she sipped her coffee.
OA, Kristen and Stuart appeared standing at the desk beside Jubal looking at Maggie, OA raised an eyebrow looking at Maggie "You doing okay Maggie you don't look too great?."
"Always with the compliments OA. And could you not shout I'm right here." She groaned sipping her coffee.
Kirsten laughed "Oh you are totally hungover."
Jen chose that moment to walk in to the JOC as an agent brought her in and she walked over to Jubal and saw Maggie sitting there, she sat her bag down on the desk beside Maggie. And Jubal smiled looking at the team "This is my sister Jenny, Jenny, this is OA, Kristen, Stuart and Maggie." He had to remind himself to introduce Maggie.
Jenny smiled softly at them "It's nice to finally meet you all, Jubal talks about you all a lot so it's nice to finally put faces to the names." Jenny's stomach chose that moment to do what felt like summersaults as she lay her hand on the desk to steady herself and looked at Maggie "Mags, I swear if we ever have a girls night again we are having a night with A LOT less alcohol or no alcohol at all."
Maggie was resting her elbow on the desk with her head resting on her hand rubbing her forehead "Remind me why we thought taking those shots was a good idea? I mean first round sure, but the third?."
Jen sat against the desk totally unaware that the team including Jubal were standing staring at them, Jubal had froze, the team were in complete shock. Neither Maggie or Jen had even realised their slip up. Jen looked at Maggie "If I could get the drummer out of my head and my stomach to stop doing summersaults it would be great. I have no idea how I made it through that meeting.. oh thanks again for letting me crash with you guys last night, no way was I making it home and hey my hangover was briefly forgotten when I got to wind my brother up this morning."
"You know you are always welcome at ours Jen and we both know that you do not need to be hungover to wind your brother up, I swear you get a little too much enjoyment out of that." Maggie shook her head laughing, Jubal was trying to figure out a way that they were going to get out of this but he could see the team standing with their mouths open a little listening to everything that Maggie and Jen were saying.
OA finally found his voice "You and Jubal's sister went out together last night?."
Hearing OA helped Kristen find her voice as well "How do you two know each other?."
Hearing OA and Kristen speak snapped Jenny and Maggie out of their own little world that the two were clearly in. Jenny stood up quickly from the desk, so quickly that it caused her head to spin again as she looked between Maggie and Jubal.
"Oh crap, I am so sorry I wasn't even thinking, blame this stupid hangover."
Maggie shook her head "Jen you have no reason to apologise, I totally forgot that I was at work." She laughed softly.
"See? I knew you two going out alone together last night was a bad idea." Jubal smirked playfully looking at Maggie and Jenny, he had calmed his own nerves seeing that Maggie hadn't got up and ran and seeing how horrified his sister looked at her mistake.
"You are just upset that I had the night out with your…." Jen stopped herself before saying girlfriend.
"Oh you choose now to stop talking?." Jubal raised his eyebrow playfully.
"I think you should totally finish what you were going to say." OA looked at Jenny as he spoke.
"Co-worker?." Jenny smiled innocently at Jubal.
"Well technically that is kinda the truth. I mean we are co-workers." Maggie smirked playfully looking at Jubal.
"Taking my sister's side in this?." He raised an eyebrow with a playful smirk looking at Maggie.
"Why you feel left out if I was?." Maggie smirked keeping her focus on Jubal, ignoring the team staring at them.
Jubal leaned forward resting his hands on the edge of the desk so that he was face to face with Maggie "So one night out drinking together and you two are going to gang up against me?. Can I remind you who made you both coffee this morning."
"Well I can understand your sisters pain right now." Maggie leaned a little closer to Jubal "Oh don't worry I haven't forgotten who made us coffee this morning, but I don't think your sister should be the one to put the team out of their misery and tell them what is going on." She raised an eyebrow looking at Jubal.
"And why should it be me when it was you two that slipped up not me?."
"Because I can ask you very nicely if you want me to." She smirked playfully.
"That's cruel, you know I can't say no when you smirk at me like that."
Jenny was trying her best not to burst out laughing as OA, Kristen and Stuart were standing with their mouths open a little again, it was clear they were not used to seeing Jubal and Maggie like this with anyone never mind with each other.
"There is one other way we can tell them."
"Just how bad is your hangover?." He raised his eyebrow looking at Maggie, he knew there was only one other way to tell the team but he never for a second thought that it was something that Maggie would do. He soon learned he was wrong when Maggie leaned forward and kissed him softly keeping the kiss short as they heard a gasp from Kristen. Jubal chuckled softly as he leaned his forehead against Maggie's.
"You think they have passed out with shock? They are being way too quiet."
"No don't worry they haven't passed out, but I have to admit this is kinda fun for me to watch." Jenny laughed as she spoke, she was still watching OA, Kristen and Stuart. Kristen had covered her mouth with her hand when she gasped, OA was opening and closing his mouth trying to get words to come out but nothing would. Stuart's mouth had dropped open more when he saw Maggie and Jubal kiss.
Jubal stole one more quick kiss before he stood up straight and walked around to the other side of the desk sitting down beside Maggie who lay her head lightly against his shoulder as she laughed watching the team "I think we have broke them."
"I thought you two told me that they never stop talking?" Jenny sat down again on the edge of the desk as she watched Jubal and Maggie and the team.
"They normally don't but I think we have just found one way to stop them from talking." Jubal laughed softly.
"As much as I love you we are not kissing every time you need them to stop talking." Maggie laughed resting her hand on Jubal's arm.
"Why not? I personally think that would be a lot of fun." Jubal smirked playfully looking at Maggie, he had been surprised by her laying her head on his shoulder and her hand on his arm but he was more than happy to embrace it.
"Because we would literally spend our entire time at work kissing with how much they usually talk." Maggie shook her head laughing.
"Yeah I think you just explained why Jubal would be more than okay with that idea. I see you two at home, I know what you guys are like with the touches and kisses." Jenny smirked playfully enjoying that she was now able to tease both Maggie and Jubal.
"You make that sound like we are stuck together at home." Maggie laughed looking at Jenny.
"Eh I have photo evidence that you two are stuck together at home." Jenny laughed shaking her head "I can show the team if you want."
"So you two are dating?." Kristen had finally found her voice and had jumped in before Jubal or Maggie could answer Jenny.
"I wouldn't call it dating, they are more like a married couple." Jenny smiled innocently looking at Kristen ignoring the glare from her brother.
"Wait, Jenny you said that you crashed with them last night…" OA looked at Maggie and Jubal before continuing "Do you two live together?."
"We do" Jubal smiled, probably the most genuine smile the team had ever saw from him "I moved in with Mags a few months ago." He smiled kissing the top of Maggie's head as she ran her hand along his arm taking his hand in hers.
"How the hell have we not noticed that you two are dating, and living together?." Stuart wasn't really asking anyone in particular he was just voicing this thoughts.
"I asked them that constantly." Jenny laughed looking at the team "I mean honestly when I see them together I have no idea how you guys didn't notice, not like my brother is very good at hiding it."
"Hey! I told you that I am not that bad and at work I have found way's to hide it and apparently it worked since they didn't realise until you both had a slip up due to your hangovers." Jubal joked playfully with his sister.
Kristen looked at Jenny "So what we just witnessed, them you know face to face, kissing, that's what they are like at home?."
"You know that we are right here you can ask us instead of Jen." Maggie laughed softly as she looked at Kristen.
"Yeah but I think we will get more information from a hungover Jenny than we will you or Jubal." Kristen laughed softly.
"She does have a good point there baby." Jubal laughed squeezing Maggie's hand gently.
Kristen let out a small squeal hearing Jubal call Maggie baby causing Maggie and Jenny to flinch at the noise before Kristen covered her mouth. "Sorry, that really wouldn't have helped with your headaches. But I mean come on Jubal just called Maggie 'baby' and I think that totally warrants my reaction."
"And you can't blame a hangover on your slip up." Jenny looked at her brother teasing him playfully before looking at Kristen "To answer your question, no that is not what they are like at home, that was them showing restraint." She smirked playfully.
Maggie slapped Jenny's arm playfully "Seriously? They do not need all the details, you had enough fun this morning with winding this guy up. I think it's time you go back to work." Maggie laughed joking with Jenny.
"I think Jenny should stay and tell us everything." OA smirked playfully joking with his partner.
"Yeah that is definitely not happening, you all got enough information for today. I did not think my sister and girlfriend going out drinking together would end up with you all finding out about us." Jubal shook his head laughing and pointed his finger playfully at Kris "Do not squeal just because I called Mags my girlfriend, you will really make their headaches worse."
"And as much as I would love to stay and tell you all about how cute these two really are at home together I do actually have another meeting and I need A LOT of coffee before then." Jenny smiled looking at the team.
Jubal kissed the top of Maggie's head before standing up looking at Jenny "Come on, I'll walk you out."
Maggie smiled looking at Jenny "I'll check in with you later Jen, to make sure you survived the day of meetings." She laughed softly.
"Enjoy the day answering questions about being in love with my baby brother." Jenny couldn't help but tease Maggie once more before laughing and walking with Jubal before Maggie could reply.
Maggie shook her head laughing as she watched Jubal and Jenny until she couldn't see them anymore, Jubal had looked over his shoulder smiling at Maggie before stepping on to the elevator with his sister, which of course was noticed by the team. Kristen smiled looking at Maggie.
"You two really are in love aren't you?."
Maggie couldn't help the large smile that appeared on her face. "We really are and this is not how we planned on you guys finding out, we really did plan on sitting you all down to tell you."
"I still can't believe that we didn't notice, let's not let anyone else find out that three FBI agents couldn't figure out their boss and co-worker were dating." OA laughed shaking his head making the others laugh.
