Chapter 2.

Adendum to chapter 1. Brook chose Shanks to bring a smile to his captain

When the crew and their chosen people arrived in realm between relms they where immediately confronted by the man who rules the in between. He tells them all about the world they will be going to how its terrorized by evil creatures called grim, how much like their own world there is overt racism towards those who have animal characteristics. They are told all about how the world works what huntsmen are, what the white fang is, who salem is, who ozpin is. They are told all about aura and semblances and how they need to act as though they have them. They then are told they will be deaged to 17 while retaining the height of their powers and being able to expand on them. For those like Ace who are dead this is a huge boon as who knows what he can do with them now.

After being deaged and having the sunny changed into an air ship (think the sunny only without masts) they are transported into the world of remnant.

Upon arriving at Beacon academy Ruby looks around at the bullhead station trying to take in the other students when suddenly she see's the coolest airship she has ever seen pull in right next to the one she just got off. She immediately goes over to see who is going to be getting off this awesome thing. When she sees 18 people who all look like they have seen the world end get off the ship.

She runs up and immediately introduces herself, "Hi, Im Ruby Rose. I love that ship you came in on its super cool who are you guys?"

Luffy laughs and goes "yeah she is one of a kind my friend Franky made her special for us, I'm Monkey D. Luffy and I'm going to be king of the…" and he stops himself unsure of what to say.

Nami interrupts "king of freedom that's what he meant, Im Nami," she then introduces everyone to Ruby.

"Where are you guys from?" Ruby asks

Nico Robin responds "Far away and yet not as far as you would think"

This only seems to confuse Ruby who suddenly remembers that they have to get to orientation. During orientation Ozpin talks about the academy and the mission and the importance of everything and at the end he says I forgot to mention we will be having 2 additional students here who will not be huntress training. Get some sleep and good luck tomorrow.

Ruby eager to have Yang meet Luffy and his merry band drags her over after Ozpins speech. Yang sees the group and is drawn to them specifically Luffy and she doesn't know why he just seems magnetic.

"Hi guys this is my sister Yang" Ruby

"Nice to meet you" and Nami introduces everyone.

Yang stares at Brook and Chopper I mean how can she not one is a skeleton and the other is a reindeer faunus or so she believes. Brook sees her staring and asks "May I see your panties"

This results in Yang yelling at him Ruby confused and Brook being hit by several of his crew mates. Yang then storms off and drags Ruby with her grumbling about sick perverts.

The next day out at the emerald forest Ozpin explains how partners are chosen and their end goal. He then sends them into the forest without any other thought.

Everyone is paired up the same as the show and everyone is paired up with their chosen companion except for Nami and Usopp they will be paired together as they chose non combatants. Upon landing all of our hero's race for the temple taking out whatever grimm are in the way with ease. When they get to the designated area they are far from alone and out comes Ruby and Weiss followed quickly by a deathstalker and Juane and Pyrrha and Ren and Nora and Yang and Blake all followed by giant grimm.

The straw hat crew gets excited at potentially a challenge so Luffy calls off teams to assist. Chopper, Bartolmeo, Jimbei, and Hancock to help Ruby.

Nami, Franky, Ussopp, Iceberg to help Yang.

Sanji, Baby 5, Zoro, and Mihawk to help Juane.

Himself, Ace, Robin, and Edward Newgate to help Ren and Nora.

The battles are over before they even start the swordsman simply swing their swords and the Goliath falls over dead, Ace fires a few fireballs while Whitebeard smiles watching his son work as the winged beast falls dead, Franky and Usopp shoot the beowolf before it can even come a real threat and Hancock simply turns the deathstalker into stone while Jimbei breaks it. When everyone stops and turns around and there is nothing chasing them anymore they look at the guys in front of them and begin questioning themselves.

After everyone has made it back everyone is brought to the main hall for team designations.

Team MZPJ (Mihawk Zoro Pyrrah Juane)

Team SBNL (Shanks Brook Nora Lie Ren)

Team LAWR (Luffy Ace Weiss Ruby)

Team JHFI (Jimbei Hancock Franky Iceberg)

Team ERCV (Whitebeard Robin Coco Velvet)

Team SBNU (Sanji Baby 5 Nami Usopp)

After team selections everyone is sent to their rooms but Luffy and Robin go to Ozpin and ask if their teams can stay on the sunny as long as they don't miss class and don't take the ship out Ozpin agrees to this simple request. They hurry back to their teams to tell them of the good news.

Luffy "Guys me and Robin where able to get us to be able to room on the sunny just like we always have, we even get to bring our new teammates along. Isn't that great?"

Weiss "You want me to stay on a bullhead for the whole four years I am here no way."

Ruby "Come on Weiss at least give it a chance, you haven't even seen the inside yet it could be better than the dorms."

Weiss "alright I'll at least tour it before I decide I don't like it."

So they go to the sunny with all their stuff and are given the grand tour by Franky. Upon seeing the size and what's on board Weiss quickly changes her mind and agrees to staying on the ship. That next morning everyone is woken up with the sun for prebreakfast training led by Zoro Mihawk Shanks Whitebeard Usopp and Jimbei. Everyone assigned to a group that will help them the most. The groups are

Zoro and Mihawk Shanks: Weiss, Juane, Blake, Pyrrah, Barlolmeo

Whitebeard: Nora, Ren, Nami, Velvet, Baby 5, Ruby

Jimbei: Luffy, Ace, Yang, Robin, Sanji,

Usopp: Coco, and then everyone takes a day with him each week.

These are the training groups every morning and every evening. After breakfast they begin classes and they are going great until combat class when Cardin Winchester decides he is going to pick a fight with Jimbei. Jimbei accepts of course because his honor won't let him turn down a spar.

Glynda "Go get your weapons and I'll be here ready for you"

Jimbei "I'm ready"

Cardin "Of course a stupid Faunus wouldn't have a weapon likely doesn't even know how to use one. I'll make this quick for you don't worry"

Jimbei smirks "Yes you will"

Glynda pulls up their aura and Cardins lights up the screen with a full bar then Jimbei's comes up and Glynda asks "how is this possible?' The bar goes full and then it changes color and goes full again and does this 7 more times.

Jimbei "thats good right?"

Glynda "that very good, begin fight"

Cardin charges Jimbei intent on making short work of him only for Jimbei to side step and land a single chop across the back. This one chop drops his opponents aura completely and causes broken ribs. The whole class is silent as this all happened in the span of 10 seconds. Even Glynda can't believe what she just saw. Never in her entire life had she seen someone so easily break someone's aura. Then we hear cheering from the section where Luffy and company are sitting.

Later at lunch everyone is asking if all of these new people can do that. They laugh and go no only Jimbei and perhaps Nami would have shown that level of restraint. This of course scares everyone at the table. Luffy says "its why we are training 2 times a day outside of combat class, we want you guys to be able to stand beside us as equals one day and we think you can do it"

Upon saying this everyone at the table is stunned and then Juane goes "You think one day we will be able to break someones arua with a single blow?"

Luffy "of course"

After lunch classes proceed as normal with Mihawk and Whitebeard slipping out to talk to Glynda.

Glynda "how can I help you gentleman?"

Whitebeard "we where hoping to ask you not to use us in combat class inside the classroom, if you want to watch me and my family compete please let us spar each other somewhere where no one can get hurt or you will need to replace the combat room every day"

Glynda looks at them condescendingly "really youll break the combat room that's the best excuse you have to not do combat class"

Mihawk "you saw what Jimbei did to that student he is among the weakest of our family but if you insist then might I suggest you have me and Zoro spar tomorrow and you will see"

Glynda "sounds good I'll have you lead off the class"

That evening abord the sunny Chopper and Jimbei ask to go for a walk with Blake. She agrees not really sure where this is going. When they get away from everyone else Jimbei asks "Why do you hide that you are a faunus? It's your life but I don't like to see people hiding who they are especially when they are good."

Blake "how did you know?"

Chopper "you smell like a cat sometimes"

Blake deadpans "really?"

Chopper "don't worry normal noses couldn't tell mine is special"

Blake "that's good, to answer your question Jimbei you guys are not from here what Winchester did today has been my normal for my whole life, when I came here I thought I would hide myself at least for a little bit and take a break."

Chopper "I know how it feels to be an outcast your whole life, I mean look at me you ever see a faunus look like me? My own family cast me out when I was very young and I struggled for years until I met someone who didn't see the monster in me and then they died and I was alone again until Luffy came and saved me."

Blake "I had no idea, that's terrible. At least you have Luffy though I don't have anyone left"

Chopper "yes you do. You may fight it but Luffy has already decided your staying and joining our family of misfits."

Blake looks downcast "How could he want me after the things I have done…"

They look at her and go you haven't done anything worse than any of the rest of us.

Blake "you can't know that!" and she turns around and heads back to be alone.

When she gets back she goes into her room and grabs her book and just wants to be alone. Seeing this Yang respects her boundaries and knows Blake will tell her whats going on when she wants to.

The next day in combat class Glynda goes "we had some people volunteer to start today and while its not often we see people from the same team square off it should prove to be a most fun fight. Without any further wait lets have Mihawk and Zoro come up here."

Zoro looks at Mihawk and asks "What did you do? How do you want to do this?"

Mihawk "I was trying to get us more room for our spars, lets do no aura and swords only no special attacks we want to save as much of the building as we can."

Glynda "alright boys turn your aura on and we can start."

Mihawk and Zoro "We will compete without aura as two swordsman should"

Glynda "I cant let you do that"

Mihawk "you are not letting us do anything we are choosing this risk."

Glynda "fine first one to land a blow is the winner"

Mihawk and Zoro "agreed"

Glynda "Begin"

And so Zoro and Mihawk begin yet another epic battle for the title worlds greatest swordsman. They rush in swords colliding and the force coming off the block knocks everyone in the first few rows out of their seats. They trade stroke after stroke as fast as the eye can follow and the wind coming off their strokes begins destroying the room. 1 minute after the start Glynda orders a full evacuation of the combat room. At 5 she has asked them to stop. They oblige.

Glynda "what did you guys do to my room?!"

Mihawk "exactly what I said would happen."

Glynda "… fine we will go with your idea, class dismissed"

At lunch that day everyone is asking Zoro and Mihawk if that was them going full bore. Luffy "no that was them barely even trying you'll know when they go all out, Beacon itself might not survive if they where to actually fight each other all out" This causes everyone gathered to shake with fright at the sheer power of these 2 men and those who are friends with them.

So things go for the rest of the term as we get closer to the vital festival we see our favorite pirates and their teammates growing closer but more importantly growing stronger. Its during this time period that all of those who where brought with them where officially inducted into the straw hat pirates. It was also during this time that Kaya learned from Chopper and the other doctors in the area all that she could so that she could be a doctor as she always wanted, Nojiko learned espionage and basic combat from Nico Robin but mostly she just learned more about agriculture and herbology to grow her garden bigger.
