CH 5.

Reminder every choice is done deliberately and people change as they get older especially when they realize there is more at stake than what they thought. Anyone jumping at you guys to join the crew I haven't decided on anyone yet and debating weather to actually do any relationship stuff. Please let me know your thoughts.

That next morning

We see Winter approaching the sunny around breakfast time hoping to meet everyone and dual her sister like they haven't done in years. Weiss see's her coming up the ramp and rushes to her to give her a nice big hug and tell her she was happy to see her and escort her to breakfast. She walks into the mess hall and see's the loud rambunctious seen before her and is put back for a minute until Weiss clears her thought and introduces her to everyone. Everyone seems nice but the one who stands out the most is Mihawk. He seems both dangerous and yet easy going. Everyone has breakfast and Winter asks Weiss if they could spar today like they had talked about. When the crew hears this they all want to watch and so Weiss who was going to agree anyway agrees.

Down in the training room we see Winter in her full atlas military garb complete with cutlass. We see Weiss in black pants with black boots with no heel and a white top similar to her usual combat top.

Winter "No skirt anymore"

Weiss "No pants don't get caught on things and when they rip are easier to repair, so how do you want to do this first blood, drop of aura, surrender,?"

Winter "lets just do aura depletion we are only sparring after all"

Weiss "Sounds good it's been awhile since I have used those rules"

Winter hears but elects not to respond not sure she wants the answer. She puts up her aura and gets into a fighting position.

Weiss gets into her fighting position while Zoro is the judge at his command they begin. Winter immediately charges hoping to get inside Myrtenaster's kill zone before it becomes useful, this lands her a stiff punch to the face that stuns her briefly allowing for Weiss to bring her sword around for a few strokes that are blocked by Winter. Winter is now having to adjust her gameplan on the fly as her sister was never this skilled before. She decides to try something fun and see if Weiss has been practicing her Glyphs, she creates a barrier and pushes it at Weiss in an attempt to pin her to the wall, instead of dodging Weiss summons her great protector (arma geiss) behind Winter and delivers the winning blow. Winter sure of her victory was completely stunned by this unexpected move. After the fight is over Weiss walks over and helps her sister up.

Weiss "That was fun we will have to do that again sometime"

Winter "Yeah it was fun you finally got a win on me. When did you learn to control your summons? That was an awesome move by the way totally unexpected though really stabbing in the back is that really honorable."

Weiss "At the end of the day the only thing that matters is getting back to those who I love. I figured it out a few weeks ago."

Winter "That's a change in attitude but I can't say its not right especially when fighting those that would kill you. That's awesome"

Zoro "sorry to butt in on family talk but Winter if you would like while you are here you are welcome to come and train with us me and my friends can teach you how to actually use your sword for more than just a focus"

Winter "That would be awesome unfortunately there are simply not that many great sword teachers out there everyone wants guns these days"

Zoro chuckles "Yeah they do I can tell you this now I can out preform any gun anyone carries with my swords and we would be happy to teach you after all a sister of Weiss is a friend to us."

Luffy "You are coming to the party tonight right and bring that iron guy he seems like he needs a night of drinking."

Winter "I'll be there it sounds like a fun time and I'll see what I can do about Ironwood."

With Cinder

Cinder "so how did finding allies go yesterday Emerald? Anyone good?"

Emerald "certainly some interesting people the one called Luffy seems promising especially if you can beat him in the tournament"

Mercury scoffs "If we beat him what good will he be he won't be strong enough for our future"

Emerald "He see's the future or at least he claims to. Not the whole thing only parts of it. He predicted without any hesitation the final 8 teams and the finishing order of those 8 teams. I have never seen someone so confident about a loss in a tournament"

Cinder "Wait, you said loss? He can see the future and yet he didn't predict himself to win that is uncommon. He is worth keeping an eye on perhaps I should meet him."

Emerald "He mentioned a big after the tournament party that we where invited to. That would be a good place to deal with him would it not, after you have seen his prowess"

Cinder "it certainly would be perhaps we can push the plan back one day for this man."

Mercury "You had better not be wrong on this."

Luffy calls Ozpin to check up on things and invite him Ironwood Glynda and Qrow to the party that night.

Luffy "How go preparations for the attack have you been able to find anything out on that yet?"

Ozpin "No, not yet and I can't just go and arrest Cinder for something we couldn't have heard now could I." he says with a smile

Luffy "No, No you can't I know we have mission assignments coming up I want some of us to be given and I'll let you figure out the wording but basically scouting for holes in the defense of Vale and Beacon and setting up fall back positions should anything break through. Also You guys should come to the party we are throwing tonight I know everyone would love to see you guys and figure out how to get Ironwood there Winter is working on it but I think I may need you as well and Qrow get him there as well."

Ozpin laughs "I can guarantee everyone but Ironwood but between me and Winter we will work on it. DO we need to bring anything? That's a good idea but I also want some of you to go exploring the surrounding land if they are working with Salem that means grimm attack I want to try and figure out how that is going to happen."

Luffy "Sounds good we will discuss who will do what assignments. If you have any booze bring it… Oh and if any of you play music bring that as well."

Ozpin "Booze and instruments I think I can do that."

Flashback to buying the booze for the party

Shanks Whitebeard and Zoro walk into the first of many liquor stores they would visit on this day. Upon entering they cast a wide long shadow over everything as these massive men are now in the store. The sales associate is shaking a bit especially seeing that they are armed.

Shanks walks up the counter "Good afternoon, wonderful shop you have here"

Storekeeper shaking in his voice "Thanks how can I help you fine gentleman."

Shanks "Well you see my friends and I are having a grand party and are in need of booze. As much as you can sell us."

Storekeeper relaxing a bit realizing they are just customers "What kind do you want we carry it all here"

Shanks "Well it doesn't really matter what kind as long as it is wet we will take it" he breaks out that famous smile of his.

Storekeeper "Well that will make for a short day for me, Do you want it delivered? Let me get you rang up."

Shanks "That would be lovely. Thank you for the offer. It's going to a bullhead up at beacon academy it is a one of a kind youll recognize it immediately it has a tangerine grove and a lions head in a sun."

Storekeeper "That is certainly unique. Your total is he gives them some astronomical number"

Shanks puts the cash down on the table. The storekeeper is shocked to see so much cash and even more so that it came from one man. He rings the sale through turns the sign to closed puts up a lack of inventory sign and after escorting the gentleman out wishes them a good day says thank you and that the booze will be delivered by the end of the day.

This is repeated at EVERY liquor store in the area

That afternoon at the mission selection event

Everyone is gathered around to hear Ozpin lay out the rules for the mission selection. These are usually straight forward and basic.

Ozpin "I'm glad you all are here today. We will be having a special mission selection this year because of the Festival. All first year teams have had their missions assigned to them. If you wish to protest please see a staff member and they will handle your complaint. Please note that all missions where assigned with your best interest at heart, at least as far as the staff determined."

Everyone looks at their scroll for their assigned mission. Team CRDL got a faunus orphanage where they will be fortifying structures and reading to the children, they are assigned for a week everyday after school. Team CCBY got assigned to the Southeast along with team MZPJ they are told to see DR. Oobleck. Teams SBNL and ERCV are assigned border patrol with a note to see Ozpin. Teams LAWR and JHFI are assigned city wall maintenance also with a note to see Ozpin. Team SBNU is assigned to assist General Ironwood in a goodwill effort also with a note to see Ozpin. Everyone else gets their various missions all suited to their ability and induvial skills. With all our favorite people wondering why they need to see Ozpin they decide to go together.

When they get to Ozpin's office they are let in immediately.

Ozpin "Glad to see you got my notes. I'm sure you all are curious why you are here. Well the answer is simple you lot you know there is an attack coming and so I have given you ways to prep for it. SBNU you guys will be assisting Ironwood as he bring in supplies and makes sure all the weaponry is online and working properly. SBNL ERCV you guys are looking for weakness in the walls and ways to repel a ground attack this should not take to long a few days at most, once you have the defense planned you will coordinate with myself and general Ironwood. LAWR JHFI you will be going around the city looking for places where when the walls fall and they no doubt will, places where we can fall back to, places where we can evacuate from, where we can lay ambushes and direct traffic. Again this will be reported Ironwood and myself. CCBY MZPJ you guys have either the easiest mission or the hardest and right now we don't know which it is, you will be exploring the southwest region. There are big grimm over there but they don't approach the city so we have let them be but if we are going to be attacked there is train tracks over there from long ago that could if the way was cleared bring anything right into the heart of the city. We need you to see if there are any signs of work being done out there or whatever is there. Your mission is not one of direct combat though you may have combat and that's why I am sending MZPJ honestly they are the best combat unit this school has ever seen. Any questions?"

Luffy looks around then answering for everyone "No"

Ozpin "good that is all for now I'll let you know if anything arises."

Luffy "See you at the party tonight"

This gets Ozpin to smile at the mention of happy times.

Ozpins office after everyone has left.

General Ironwood comes in and sits down.

Ironwood "I was talking to Winter earlier and I was shocked to hear she and her sister sparred this morning and you'll never guess the result"

Ozpin "Weiss won in under 5 minutes without Winter so much as getting inside her guard" he says with a smile

Ironwood "actually it was more like 7 but yes how did you know? Is that why you insite I meet with several of your teams after their missions and take one with me"

Ozpin "Weiss has been training the best combat team I have ever seen not a huge surprise she would be able to beat her sister, I mean I don't even let any of her or her friends spar in the combat classroom anymore they do it in the emerald forest. That certainly is part of it yes I'll tell you the rest tonight aboard the Sunny at the party they are throwing I'm sure Winter told you about it."

Ironwood "she certainly did and I had hoped to decline but it's becoming clear I can't so I will attend. What is so special about them anyway?"

Ozpin "Youll see tonight and if not tonight that in the tournament for sure."

With Cinder

Cinder hears what Ozpin just told Ironwood curious why her listening device cut out earlier only on audio though. She begins thinking that perhaps Ozpin knows there is a bug in his office after all the only place she couldn't get one was the Sunny not that she really tried its simply a Bullhead after all. Perhaps though given what Ozpin was just saying it's more than that and what better time to plant a bug than during a big party.

That night on the Sunny

Sanji is working in the kitchen while Baby 5 Nojiko and Kaya run food out to the big tables all lined up outside. Iceberg and Franky are putting the finishing touches on the lighting. Sanji Whitebeard and Shanks are preparing the drinking games tables. Robin at Nami's request is setting up the gambling on the drinking games. Luffy Ace and the rest are bringing up the booze and the food to the kitchen. After all this is done the party officially starts and everyone starts showing up (Ozpin, Oobleck, Ironwood, Glynda, Winter, Qrow). They party until the booze runs out. During this time Ironwood is told by Ozpin about the impending attack and he sees the logic in the assignments now. Some get roped into the drinking contest everyone tosses in $100 winner takes all, the contestants are Qrow, Yang, Nora, Zoro, Shanks, Ozpin, and Nami. Others get into the shooting contests Ruby, Ussopp, Ironwood, Hancock, Baby 5, Velvet, and Coco. Robin Ren and Blake all are off to the side not alone but definitely only enjoying watch others make fools of themselves. There is also a sword tournament the contestants are Bartolomeo, Mihawk, Juane, Weiss, and Winter.

We will start with the shooting contest. The rules are simple you have to drink a beer and hit a target the longer the contest the more absurd the weapon and or the distance. They all chug a beer to see who goes first. It's reverse order of finishing the beer. The order is Ruby, Velvet, Coco, Baby 5, Hancock, Ironwood, Ussopp. Weapons are in one bag distances in another. Ruby draws Cannon and 100 yards Ironwood can't help but be surprised by the weapon choice. Ruby nails it without any real effort. Velvet draws throwing knife 15ft and hits it without difficulty. Coco gets sniper rifle 500 yards she has some trouble but does indeed hit the mark. Baby 5 gets shuriken and 10ft she hits. Hancock gets bow and arrow and 200 yards she hits. Ironwood gets assault rifle and 150yards he hits it and smiles after doing so. Ussopp gets slingshot and 200 yards Ironwood smiles at this thinking Usopp is out for sure only to have him hit it blindfolded. When this happens Ironwood is stunned. This continues until the only ones left are Ironwood and Usopp at this point the rules change. They had been matching shot for shot for awhile and so they decided to change things each would pick a weapon and that would be what they would use moving forward they would have to drink their shots and shoot them out of each others hands first one to miss looses. They do and to no ones real surprise Usopp wins.

In the sword fighting arena the rules are simple one person would start and they would face opponents one at a time until someone beet them then that person would take over and continue until only the person defending is left. The part that was fun was that you had to have a drink in your hands at all times and at the end of the fight everyone had to finish their drink and get another one. They all draw straws for who would start. Then they have a speed drink for the order again reverse of finishing time. Mihawk will start attacked first by Weiss then Juane Bartolomeo, Winter. Mihawk wins and wins quickly even though he is fighting with his small dagger.

In the drinking contest proper that goes until the booze is gone. The exit order is Nora, Yang, Qrow, Shanks, Nami, Ozpin, Zoro. Though Zoro and Ozpin could have likely kept going if they really forced themselves to.

While this is happening everyone else is mingling and just having a good time enjoying being around each other and the food that Sanji worked so hard on. Everyone ends up sleeping on the Sunny in some capacity some made it to their beds or the guest rooms most just slept on the deck or the crows nest. Everyone wakes up that next day and they certainly feel like they had a wild party. Everyone goes about what they have to do that day.
