Ch 8

Later that day General Ironwood brings the Ace Ops and Winter to the Sunny to begin to discuss how to evacuate Beacon safely. While sitting around the big table eating food Sanji prepared at first the only ones who looked comfortable where Winter and Ironwood but after actually talking to Luffy and company everyone relaxes and begins to actually plan.

Ironwood "We should split into teams and evacuate sections at a time that will be fastest and safest."

Luffy nods "I think it would be best if we mixed our people together for this my crew is stronger but more likely to not be as efficient as your guys so it would be good to get both together."

Ironwood "I agree especially after watching round one, that was something I have never seen before. How where you thinking of splitting up? I have some ideas but I want to see what you came up with."

Whitebeard "Luffy if you don't mind I'll take it from here."

Luffy nods and so Whitebeard continues "Iceberg Nojiko Kaya Nami Baby 5 you'll man the Sunny and ensure we have total air superiority. Usopp Find somewhere high with a good view of the whole city and begin taking out whatever looks like its making the best headway, you will also be in charge of calling out direction to our teams. Bartolomeo I am going need you to be the last line into the bullhead platforms those can not fall that's why myself and Zoro Elm and Coco will be there with you. Luffy you Ace Juanne Harriett will be a team, Franky you and Mihawk will be looking for where the train is coming and stopping it short of that stop everyone from coming out of it. Robin Pyrrah Clover Velvet are a team, Ironwood Sanji Ren Blake you're a team, Marrow Chopper Yang Jimbei you're a team, Winter Weiss Brook you are a team, Nora Ruby Shanks Vine you're a team."

Ironwood "Interesting combinations I'm assuming you have worked out your teams abilities and then incorporated what my people do into this."

Whitebeard "No I just stuck at least one of my best guys on each team and assigned crowd control to those best suited for it."

Ironwood looks shocked at this admission "Alright I'll trust you what exactly does Bartolomeo do that makes him so valuable to guard the bullheads?"

Bartolomeo "I make barriers"

Ironwood is confused by this but decides its best not to ask. "Is there anything else we should know?"

Luffy "Not really you'll see everything during the evacuation."

Ironwood scowls but doesn't press the matter having been around Ozpin enough he knows when he isn't getting more information.

Earlier with Emerald and Ozpin

After she calmed down in the hospital wing Ozpin came in to check on her. Not sure how to really approach this situation as it is far different than anything he has ever dealt with before.

Emerald "Their really dead right? That wasn't just an illusion or something I thought I saw?" her eyes betraying her pleading look to Ozpin.

Ozpin "They are truly gone for that I am sorry. Do you have anyone you want us to call?"

Emerald "No I don't have anyone those two where my family… I'll figure something out I can be resourceful."

Ozpin "You know you can stay here as long as you want. We can get your records transferred over here and you can have a fresh start."

Emerald unsure of what to actually do "Ill have to think about it. I appreciate the offer."

Ozpin "If you need someone to talk to I recommend Luffy or Hancock from what I have seen you and Luffy seemed to get along well and miss Hancock is wise beyond her years."

Emerald nods her head.

She is sitting in the hospital room not really sure where to go or what to do now that she might actually be free. Her worry if she transfers Ozpin will know she isn't really a student and even though she saw those guys tear through Cinder like it was nothing that doesn't mean they can stop Adam or worse yet Salem.

Location Unknown

Upon not hearing from anyone from Beacon its decided to move the timeline forward instead of attacking during the award ceremony they where going to attack that next night just in case Cinder and company had been caught. Salem decides to send Adam to retrieve the just in case Cinder where to fail. This was also a test of this Adam Taurus man he had much hated and anger in his heart and that was wonderful so long as it could be forged into loyalty to her otherwise he and it where useless to her.

She sends her mighty Grimm army to go to Beacon they should be there around midnight the following day. Adam has been instructed to send the train through the tunnel to blow an opening at 2345 so the assault will be timed in sync. He has clear directions to avoid confrontations with anyone and get inside of the academy to locate the relic. Once he gets inside he is to kill everyone who gets in his way. After retrieving the relic he is to leave and return to her with it leaving the battle to be decided by others. This is to be his ultimate test.

That next morning

Luffy approaches Ozpins office to have a conversation one that Luffy had been putting off for far to long.

"Good morning, normally I would have pleasantries but frankly we don't have time. That relic you are hiding here it needs to come aboard the Sunny. We can put in our treasure vault and nothing gets in that without my say so." Luffy says

Ozpin responds "If only it where that simple. The relic is locked away in a vault under the school and we need the fall maiden to open it and frankly we don't have one."

"Come on Ozpin you built the blasted things you have to have a backdoor in in case of emergencies or if you need to use the relic." Luffy says starting to get irritated

"I do I guess I just have never used it so I don't know if it actually works." Ozpin says trying to calm Luffy down

"Well what better time to try than right now" Luffy responds

So they head down to the vault and Ozpin does indeed retrieve the relic. "Don't use this please it has limited uses left and it doesn't reset for a long time. Also I want Qrow on your ship so long as the relics are there." Ozpin says emphatically.

"Fine tell him to hurry to the ship." Luffy aquoxes

Qrow meets them at the top of the elevator where Ozpin informs him he is to stay on the Sunny until further notice. He isn't happy but he doesn't argue with Ozpin not anymore, not since Summer. When they get to the Sunny Luffy orders them to stay on the deck while he hides the relic in the treasure room saying its best if only one person knows where it is. They don't like it but after the display yesterday they don't argue. Luffy takes the relic to the treasure room and upon entering takes a deep breathe and sighs.

He goes over to the chest in the middle of the room and opens it. Inside is where they store all the things that should not be left in others hands mostly these are devil fruits. (A list will be at the bottom). Shaking his head he puts it here and closes the lid locking it and ensuring nothing would come out of it. He walks out of the treasure room and meets back with Ozpin and Qrow. Where he tells Qrow that if he is going to stay on the ship then he has to listen to the captain or whoever is put in charge by the captain at that time. Qrow see's no problem with this and agrees. Luffy has Franky show him around and get him ready for the fight to come.

Franky takes him down to the cannon rows "So this is where you'll be during the battle unless we get boarded then youll be on the deck fighting along with me as we repel the boarders."

Qrow asks "How easy are these to use? You trust me to repel boarders? What do mean boarded?"

Franky responds "Super easy they basically do the work themselves thanks to your new technology. Trust well I don't really have many options now do I. Someone unfriendly gets on board."

Qrow asks "has that happened before?"

Franky "Not on the Sunny but on the ship before yeah it did once but that worked itself out."

With Whitebeard and Ironwood

Whitebeard "you should pull all military aircraft out of the area or at least disarm them we can't risk them being compromised I know you have advanced coding and everything but our enemy is a crafty one and full of surprises. She can't hack the Sunny because its not electronic so she is safe."

Ironwood "all my aircraft have been redirected to the bullhead loading area to provide escort for all leaving bullheads. I understand your concerns and I have them as well but I won't leave the transports unguarded."

Whitebeard "Of course I would not dream of supposing such a thing that is a sound plan. When the attack starts I want all students to help with the evacuation, they shouldn't be launching attacks but helping keep families together making sure the bullheads are loaded as full as we can get crowd control those are all things I believe they can of help with."

Ironwood "I agree though some of the older students might be useful to go behind our teams and escort those we rescue to the loading zones."

Whitebeard "That would be a good use of resources we should also have at least one team on each bullhead just to be safe. They would stay with the bullhead the entire time helping with disembarking and other such things."

Ironwood "That's a wonderful idea it should be a team with ties to wherever the bullhead is heading that would make things easier."

As they finish hammering out the details of the evacuation plan the rest of the counter assault team is resting and getting to know each other. Part of those details was how the upper district was going to evac by boat and not have support from the rest of the city as it wont be the target and they can get to Patch relatively easily and quickly.

Luffy tells everyone to get ready as the assault will begin soon. Its during this point that everyone changes into their combat attire. He sends Usopp to beacon tower while rest of the teams break off to their various places. Luffy reminds everyone to be radio silent except for necessary information.
