DJ laid on his bed and tears fell down his face. Erica laid on her bed crying. They both needed each other but it wasn't meant to be.
The following morning, there was an awkward atmosphere which Laura had picked up on.
"Guys, is everything ok?" She asked the pair.
"Yeah" they both lied unable to look at each other.
"Right, I'm off out to patrol" DJ said standing up finishing his breakfast.
Erica watched him leave not able to say anything to him.
Laura turned to face Erica "Seriously what is going on with you guys?. You didn't say a word to each other".
Erica trying to compose herself said "its nothing".
"It is, I heard you both crying last night in your rooms".
"I told him how I feel but he says he can't be with me because of his past and who he was" Erica said a stray tear falling.
Laura put her arm around her "I'm sorry, I had no idea".
"I want him, I'm in love with him, i think i have been since he faught so hard to get me in here. He reminds me so much of my dad".
"I know he feels the same way about you." Laura said.
"Has he told you then?" Erica asked.
"He doesn't need to say it, his behaviour and actions speak for him when it comes to you" Laura smiled.
"I don't know what to do." Erica then sighed.
"Don't give up hope" Laura said.
Weeks later Erica had gone out to get supplies with Aaron. It was a summer's day but there was a dark cloud over everyone.
The whisperers had been back to Hilltop to collect Lydia who was their leader's daughter. But Lydia had ran away with Henry after going back to her mum. Daryl and Connie had found the pair.
Alpha who was Lydia's mother swore revenge with the help of her people. So all the communities were on edge. They had already killed Jesus which had broken Aaron's heart as he had started to fall for him. He was taken just like Eric had been at the hands of the saviours. Aaron and Erica had grown close friends. He could talk to her and she could talk to him. He knew how she felt about DJ and how they couldn't be together.
"Walkers!!" Aaron exclaimed getting ready to kill them.
"I'm on it" Erica said getting her gun out.
A few bullets to the head and they were all dead.
"I have a bad feeling" Aaron said.
"What you talking about?" Erica asked.
"We are being watched" he said.
They were being watched by Alpha's minions.
Suddenly out of the bushes a group of them grabbed both Aaron and Erica.
