The next morning DJ and Erica woke up in each others arms.
"Good morning" she smiled as he slowly opened his eyes.
"Hey you" he smiled.
"I could get used to this" she smiled kissing his chest.
"Everyday for the rest of our lives" he said stroking her cheek then kissing her.
"Theyll be burying Aaron today" she said solemnly changing the subject.
"I know but I'll be right there with you. I know how close you both were" he said trying to console her.
"He knew how I felt about you. He wanted us to get together so much" she smiled "he just won't get to see us together" she said tears falling down her face.
"I am so sorry" he said holding her.
"Please don't ever leave me DJ" she begged him.
"I'm going nowhere" he said.
They got dressed and had breakfast and met up outside with the others for Aaron's burial.
The site where he was going to be buried was dug.
Aaron's body was placed in the grave and covered up. Erica couldn't stop crying but DJ was by her side holding her tight.
Everyone apart from DJ and Erica left the grave "do you want to be alone?" DJ asked her softly.
"Could I have a few minutes with him?" Erica asked.
"Of course" he said.
They kissed and he left her alone.
She placed her hand on the grave and said " Hey well guess what me and DJ finally kissed. He told me he wants to be with me for the rest of our lives. I'm going to make you proud Aaron, make every day count like you always did. Oh God I know it's only been a day but I miss you so much already. You were always right there. You put up with my moody outbursts and me talking about how unfair it was that DJ could never be with me. I wish you could see us together. You'd be so happy for me. I love you like a brother I never had. You and Jesus will be avenged and nobody else is going to die because of those skin freaks. I'm gonna go now and see what DJ is up to. I love you" she said before blowing a kiss.
She then left and went looking for DJ. She had been talking to Aaron for over an hour.
She approached Siddiq and asked if he had seen where DJ was.
"I saw him in the food store. He was looking pretty chipper" Siddiq said.
"Thanks, I'll try there" she smiled.
She walked to the food store and he was not in there but Michonne was making a list of what supplies they needed.
"Hey Michonne, have you seen DJ?" she asked.
"Yeah, he was in here making something but he made me promise not to tell you what" Michonne replied.
"Did he say where he was going" Erica asked.
"Yeah, he said to tell you to meet him by the giant oak tree" Michonne said.
"Ok, thanks Michonne" Erica smiled walking outside.
Erica walked down the path. It was a lovely sunny day with no clouds in the sky.
She walked towards the oak tree. She could see a blanket laid out on the grass, and a picnic basket but no DJ.
She smiled as she started looking around for him.
Suddenly when her back was turned DJ jumped out from a nearby Bush and said "guess who" as he put his hands over her eyes.
Hmm...I dunno... uh.. Eugene!!" she smirked.
"Hey!!!!" he said pretending to be offended.
He removed his hands and twirled her around and planted a kiss on her lips.
"Are you ok now?" he asked concerned.
"Yeah I'm ok now I'm here with you " she said.
They were madly in love with each other.
"Sit down my lady" he said in a posh voice.
She sat down on the blanket and he sat down behind her with his legs around her so she lean back into his chest.
"This is lovely DJ" she smiled snuggled into him from behind.
He kissed the top of her head "I could lie here with you for the rest of our lives. I never knew love like this until you came into my life".
They sat on the blanket all afternoon eating, drinking and being together.
