A few weeks later, DJ was out patrolling with Rosita which was a rare thing.

He asked a question "Would Gabriel marry me and Erica?" he asked.

She smiled "aww are you planning on proposing? she asked.

"Yes" he smiled.

"Good for you. And of course Gabriel will" she smiled."Have you got a ring?" she then asked.

"No I don't" he replied.

"Maybe I could help you with that" she suggested.

"How?" he asked.

She put her hand in her pocket and pulled out a chain which had a beautiful silver stone on it.

"Wow, that's beautiful" he smiled. "But you can't give it to me, it belongs to you".

She took the ring off the chain and handed it to him "please take it. I want someone to get use out of it".

"Before I accept, can I know who gave it to you?" he asked.

"Someone I used to love, Abraham was his name. He never proposed but he gave it to me as a promise ring that we would always be together" she said sadly.

"That's the guy Negan killed" DJ said.

"Yes it was" she said.

"Then I really can't accept it"he said.

"Its ok, really, look, I'm ok now. I'm with Gabriel and I'm expecting Siddiq's baby. I'm happy" she said holding her hand out with the ring on it.

DJ took it from her "thanks" he smiled.

"She'll say yes" Rosita said.

"I hope so" he said nervously.

"She will" Rosita replied.

"I've been watching you and seeing how happy you are being pregnant. I'm going to ask her if we can try for a baby" he said.

"You want to be a dad?" she asked.

"Yeah I do. I never used too. But she makes me so happy, I know the world out here isn't great but what we have back in Alexandria that's home. And I want to bring new life into it with the woman I love" he shared.

"Well this one" she said rubbing her small bump " would have a playmate".

"They are the future" DJ said.

"Yes they are" she replied.

Walkers approached the pair which were soon killed. Rosita spotted a wedding ring on one of the female corpses.

"Look a wedding band. It might fit Erica. We just need to find you one" Rosita said.

"Ok" he smiled.

By the end of the day DJ had an engagement ring and wedding for Erica, and a wedding ring for himself.

Now all he had to do was ask the question.
