A few days later DJ had decided how he was going to propose to Erica.
He had made a surprise picnic which he knew was one of her favourite things.
It was also only a few days until the community fair where all the communities Alexandria, Hilltop, and the Kingdom would gather to swap items and gain knowledge on how to keep the communities safe and well.
So, if Erica said yes they could use the fair as a perfect event to celebrate their engagement.
He had made a picnic of fresh baked bread sandwiches with cheese and tomato in them, there was homemade lemonade, there was also some Victoria sponge cake.
DJ then went back to his home where Erica was doing washing up. He crept up quietly behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist and kissing her neck "come with me, I have a surprise for you".
"Well, I have a surprise for you too" she smiled.
"Oh yeah?" he asked kissing her on the lips.
"Yeah, and I hope you will like it" she said.
"I will" he said. "Now take my hand and come with me".
They walked together to where the oak tree was which was their favourite spot to be together.
Infront of the tree, DJ had already set up the picnic blanket.On it, was two glasses of lemonade, and a plate of sandwiches and slices of cake.
"Oh DJ, this is wonderful!!" she exclaimed.
He kissed her passionately "I love you".
"I love you too" she said.
"So what is it you have to tell me then" he smiled.
"I'm pregnant" she said.
DJ'S face went from shock to a massive smile then a laugh.
"Omg, that's amazing!!!" he said grabbing her and lifting her up.
"I was worried you wouldn't be happy" she said relieved.
"Why wouldn't I be happy? I love you and want to be with you forever" he said.
"I want that too" she smiled kissing him.
He then got down on one knee "And that's why I'm doing this" he said pulling Rosita's old ring out of his jean pocket.
She knew what he was about to do.
"Erica, I never thought I could ever be this happy. You and our baby are my life and my future. Will you make me the happiest man on the planet and marry me?" he said.
"Yes!!!" she exclaimed.
He smiled, all the nerves rushing out of his body as he slipped the ring on her third left finger.
"I love you so much" he smiled gazing into her eyes "And I don't want to wait to get married".
"You don't?" she asked.
"No, I've already spoke to Gabriel and he said he would marry us whenever we are ready too. And it will be legally binding aswell" he said.
"Well, really that leaves only one thing to do, get married today, just the two of us there" she said.
"You really want that?" he asked her.
"Yes, once we've eaten we will go and find Gabriel. By the way, who's ring is this?" she asked.
"It belonged to Rosita, she gave it to me when I told her I was planning on proposing. We found wedding bands aswell" he told her.
"Oh wow" she said.
They ate up their picnic and once they had finished they laid down together with her head resting on his chest.
