Teen Titans: Stone
Chapter 01: Jailbreak.
' it has been almost seven months since our last adventure and almost a week since Night-wing and Starfire got married… so while those two are kicking it back on their honeymoon…. lives resumed for us as usual… well as usual as it could get for us Titans anyway…. battling monsters, stopping petty criminals, saving the world and saving innocent lives from power hungry mad men…..'
On the streets of Jump city one car sped towards the docks as dusk settled in, the car in question?, a suit up sedan armed to the teeth with the latest in high tech engineering, that car was the T car with Cyborg behind the wheels with Raven riding shotgun and Beast boy, now known as Changeling, in the back seat either holding for dear life or trying to hold his lunch in place.
"easy Cy….. I know you got led in your feet…. but that's no reason to hit 88 mph…"
Cyborg, the designated driver and tech expert of the Teen Titans answered while keeping his eyes on the road.
" sorry little man but we don't have time to lose….. Brother Blood has been suspected of smuggling people out of the country and into his churches…. now we need to stop that from happening and we need to find evidence nailing the son of a bitch once and for all…."
At that Changeling answered as follows.
"sure I get it… do me a solid and let me know once we're on solid land once again…."
With that Changeling laid on the back seat of the T car as he tried to think of something else as his face got greener than usual as motion sickness crept up on him with each passing moment. About 15 minutes have passed as the T car approached the harbor district as the T car came to a stop as Changeling was the first to get out, breathing for dear life as the smell of the ocean , fish and heavy machinery mixed in all at once making him gag and cough as the all too familiar yellow and red streaks passed by coming to a stop to reveal Kid Flash.
" don't tell me…. Cyborg's driving again?"
All changeling could do was give a small nod as Cyborg drew in their attention.
" alright enough horsing around… we need to split up and search for Blood's containers…"
Raven who has been quiet the entire time asked the following.
" anyone has a way of doing that?…. I'm picking up on too many emotions to get a clear reading….."
Before anyone could get a word in a scoff could be heard as a young man, around 16, wearing a getup or armor and leather came out from the shadows created by two containers. The young man on closer inspection was a wild haired brunette with streaks of red in them with his armor having traces of red, green and gold yellow.
" you call yourself the best?….. luckily for you I'm here to pick up your slack…"
At that Kid Flash and Changeling shot back.
" well if it isn't number two…. say don't you have any Argonauts to fight somewhere?"
At that Robin, Jason Todd, ignored the two as he continued on addressing Cyborg directly.
" try and keep up, the ship leaves as soon as the red tape's been dealt with….. and do me a favor will you?"
At that Cyborg gave a silent grin asking him to go on which Robin did.
"lose the losers before they'll cramp your style."
At that Robin ran on ahead as Raven approached Changeling as she quietly asked.
" is he always like that?"
At that Changeling gave an annoyed sigh as he answered.
"believe it or not but that's his version of polite."
With that Raven sighed in frustration as she muttered to herself.
"great…"
As the Titans and Jason headed towards the containers the area became heavily surrounded with armed men with machine guns as the Titans kept out of sight.
" footloose, take care of the guards, Sabrina over there will stay behind to provide medical and emotional support while me and Bubba over here will take care of the actual containers…"
At that Beast boy addressed Robin and by addressed in actuality meant confronted.
" oh yeah what am I? chopped liver?"
At that Robin answered, putting emphasis on his sarcasm.
" oh right….. sorry there Frodo… for a moment I forgot you actually existed….. you're the cannon fodder…. while we make our exit you stay behind and make sure to draw fire on you as much as possible…"
At that Cyborg stepped in.
"no… he's coming with me and you… he can help with carrying the hostages out of harms way…."
At that Robin looked surprised for a few seconds before he gave Cyborg a shit eating grin.
"sure chief… but if he screws up I'm kicking his ass and blame all of it on you bozo's."
With that the plan got into motion as Kid Flash dispatched most of the guards on the docks and all on the ship as Cyborg, Changeling and Robin made a break for it towards the cargo hall breaking the containers open to reveal a shit load of frightened teens and young adults inside as Robin clicked his teeth in anger.
" is something wrong here?"
At that Robin answered.
"you can bet your sweet ass there's something wrong….. there were supposed to be a whole lot more in here…. you two stay here while I search what happened to the rest of them…."
With that Robin left saying nothing more as Cyborg replied.
"good talking to you too… asshole."
As Robin exited the ship Raven took notice to the fact and decided to follow him as she instructed Kid Flash the following.
"help Cyborg and Beast…. Changeling, I'll make sure Robin 2.0 doesn't do something too stupid"
At that Kid Flash quipped.
" you do know who are we talking about right?"
At that Raven sighed in annoyance.
"trust me I do…."
With that conversation ending Robin in the meantime headed into the port's offices to have a little chat with the supervisor's while dispatching and brutalizing a few more armed men as finally he found someone who didn't carry a gun and looked more like a pencil pusher than a hired thug as the bureaucrat ran for his life trying to lock himself in one of the offices, that is until Robin kicked in the door into the guy's face breaking his nose in the process.
" oops…. you tripped and fell…. here let me help you up…"
With that he helped him up, seemingly, only to throw him around some more until a loud snap was heard from the guy's arm.
" oops….. looks like you fell again…. if you had enough I'd start talking if I was you…"
At this point Raven, having healed most of the trauma inflicted on the hired muscle by Robin spoke up.
" he would've talked if he wasn't in shock…."
At this point Robin looked disinterested but only to hide the fact that he was pissed off by being interrupted.
" don't tell me you're stupid enough to heal the guys that would've tried to kill us."
Raven continued with a dead panned and stoic a response.
" heal completely no, take away their pain?, yes… after alerting the police that is."
At this point Raven did heal the bureaucrat, as his wounds began to mend themselves she helped herself to some of his knowledge as he drifted off to sleep. Conjuring a portal back to port she addressed Robin harshly.
" come…. we need to talk…."
At that Robin scoffed.
"then talk…"
At that Raven hasn't said a thing as she crossed through the portal with Robin in toe only to be confronted face to face with Cyborg as the boy in question rolled his eyes as he muttered.
"here it comes…"
However at this moment Cyborg hasn't said anything opting instead to stay silent as he read every movement and gestured Robin made until the young man broke the silence.
"aren't you gonna reprimand me for being too violent to be a superhero or some other bullshit?"
At that Cyborg simply replied.
"why should I? you clearly don't belie you are one right?"
Robin was about to reply back but instead opted to shut up as he walked away as Changeling rightfully pointed out.
"hey where the hell you think you're going? We aren't done here…"
At that Robin simply lifted his fist in the air giving them the middle finger as he retrieved a suited up bike reminiscent to what Night-wing used to ride when he was Robin as Cyborg and Kid Flash stopped their friend before he blew a fuse.
" don't bother with him… matter of fact he did us a solid…"
At this Changeling just replied with.
"but that doesn't feel right… sure he's an asshole but he's still associated with us from time to time….."
At that Cyborg simply ended the conversation with the following statement.
" I know how you feel…. but I learned the hard way that you can't force change on people… some of them are too damn stubborn….."
At that Changeling got curious as he tried to drill more info from Cyborg as Raven cleared her throat pointing out.
" we still have a few more people to save."
At that Changeling concluded with the following.
" lead the way then."
As the Titans continued on their way a hidden security camera panned to their direction as it fed live footage to an undisclosed location, one of many manors belonging to one Sebastian Blood as the footage was being monitor by a female acolyte under Blood's rule wearing absolutely nothing but a headpiece similar in style to Mother Mayhem's. reviewing the footage she paid close attention to what happened as she got up from her post to update Brother Blood. Reaching his chamber she knocked for a few times as the doors swung open to reveal Brother Blood being "massaged" by a group of female acolytes while he spoke.
" report"
Doing as he commanded Brother Blood listened intently to her report before asking the following.
" did our associates managed to maintain any of our cargo?"
An air of dread fell on the room before the acolyte responded to her lord's question.
"from what I saw….. it is very unlikely…"
The dread kept building up as Brother Blood kept quiet for a few agonizing moments before replying.
"that is all… you may leave…."
Like a well oiled machine the acolyte left as Brother Blood departed from his acolyte's company as he approached a desk located in the right side of the room as he looked into a built in monitor tracking his acolyte's movement as he slowly reached for a hidden button, waiting for a few moments he pressed the button only to hear a thud coming from the monitor as he returned to his acolytes.
" as you leave this room please take note of your sister's failure….. always striving for usefulness….."
With that the acolytes left as Brother Blood dressed himself as Mother Mayhem came in.
"make arrangements for our business partners to arrive."
At that Mother Mayhem's only reply was.
" consider it done."
With that said Brother Blood gave a nod ordering Mother Mayhem silently to leave as he left his chambers soon after as he headed towards the great halls to address his loyal followers.
"brothers and sisters it has come to my attention that our hated enemies, The Teen Titans have struck again against our cause denying even more of our own blood from basking in our light and wisdom…. the time has come, whom among you is brave and willing enough to confront these blasphemers in their own home and city? Who is brave enough to carry our arms of righteousness and strike down the heretics…"
At this most of the group attending stepped forward minus the women as Blood soaked in the blind faith his flock showered him with their devoted loyalty as the room slowly cleared with most of them taking arms, heading straight for Jump city.
Back at Titans tower, late night.
As Cyborg entered his quarters after finally being done with dealing with the cops and paper work Cyborg parked himself on his recharging table muttering to himself.
" Dick… Kory…. I don't know how you've managed with leading this team but you deserve a damn medal…."
As he closed his human eye trying to get some shuteye he received a call from an unknown number, without even thinking he took the call with Batman appearing on screen.
" I have some news I think you'd be interested in."
At this Cyborg asked politely.
"what kind of news?"
Batman answered without wasting any words.
" Sebastian Blood's lawyers have managed to release some of the most dangerous criminals and mercenaries on early parole probably to deal with you."
At that Cyborg's only reply was.
" probably…. thanks for the heads up."
As Cyborg was about to hang up Batman spoke off the record.
" by the way, I know Robin can be a handful so thank you for tolerating him"
At that Cyborg gave a slight grin saying thanks before he cut off the call as he was now getting up from his chair as he walked towards ops room to do a few security checks.
"life's a never ending party…."
Speaking of parties, Jason Todd a.k.a the second Robin was busy hitting night clubs all over town before riding back to Gotham until he spotted a sedan heading opposite him towards Jump city, at first it didn't bother him one bit, it was a sedan after all however he quickly swerved and drove after the sedan passing it only to see what looked like a group of men and women wearing red and black sporting a blank stare accelerating towards the city leaving him to mutter.
"fuck… this can't be good…"
With that he drove off passing the sedan as he drove fast towards Titans tower contacting Batman on the way.
"no time to talk old man so just listen…. I got a crazy feeling the Titans are in deep shit so I'll be staying a little longer, until I can save their ass probably…. so don't wait up…."
At that Batman answered stoically.
" understood… and Jason… watch your temper."
With that Batman hung up as Jason mimicked in mockery.
"watch your temper… as if"
In the meantime back in Titans tower Cyborg has managed to wake up Raven and Changeling, with great difficulty, as Changeling slurred half awake.
"so let me get this straight, you wake us up because of some Brother Blood and his crazies done right?
At that Cyborg nodded in confirmation as Changeling said.
"okay…. wake me up when the action starts"
With that he fell back asleep in mid stand as Raven flicked him at the back of his head.
" I'm awake…. I'm awake…"
With that Cyborg debriefed them before heading towards the T car as another call was made for him from Robin.
"hey bolts for Brains… are you there?"
At that Cyborg answered while shaking his head.
"tell us where you are and do not….. I repeat do not engage them until we arrive."
At that Robin smirked from the other line.
" I make no promises."
With that he quickly gave his location before he cut off the communication as the rest of the Titans doubled time their response as Cyborg made another call this time to Kid Flash.
"Brother Blood is back… we could really use a hand…."
At this point Kid Flash quickly cuts him off.
"sorry I'm stuck handling a crisis on the other side of the world…. so it would take me about an hour to get here traffic included….."
At that Cyborg sighed in understanding as he ended the conversation with.
"got it….. make sure you get here as fast as you can…."
About 15 minutes later the Titans arrived to the coordinates Robin sent i.e the mall where Raven was almost sacrificed in as they saw Robin fighting off some of Blood's acolytes right outside the entrance.
"took you long enough to get here…."
At that Cyborg rushed in with Raven and Changeling in tow as he charged his white noise cannon aiming it next to the acolytes discharging a sonic boom that made them fall back.
" oh yeah?… what happened to do not engage them?"
At that Robin answered defensively.
"they engaged me first so don't blame me… they're lucky to be standing at all if I had something to do with it…."
At that the two continued fighting them off with Changeling providing back up while Raven used her powers to distract the acolytes long enough to try and learn what Brother Blood was up to.
" so Jason…. what really happened that they're still standing….. don't tell me your loosing your touch…."
At that Robin scoffed as he answered Changeling.
" ha no…. we need them alive for questioning…"
With that Robin repelled off some of the acolytes who by this point have resorted to try and use automatic weapons as the Titans took cover inside the abandoned mall hoping to split the attacking group apart.
"it's no use I've peered into their minds…. Brother Blood clearly considers them as cannon fodder…."
At this point Robin's only response was.
"well there's no reason to hold back now…"
At this point Robin threw a smoke bomb at the acolytes before taking them out one by one, sending a bird-a-rang into the barrel of one of the machine gun making it jam up and explode causing shock and pain to the user before sneaking up behind a couple of the assailants before smacking their heads together knocking them out as the remaining two cocked their weapons firing indiscriminatly in every direction before being hit by a flying kick from Changeling and a punch square in the face by Cyborg. At this Robin said nothing at first before whining.
"gee thanks a lot guys…. I had something fun planned for these assholes…."
At this Cyborg pointed out.
"that's it, we weren't saving you per say….. we were saving them from you."
At this Robin fainted indifference before asking.
"why?…. what do you care if some no name asshole suffer or not?… it's not like they matter to….."
Before he could finish his sentence Raven slapped him hard on the face causing him to step back.
" you stupid bitch…. what the hell was this for?"
At that Raven did not answer at first, instead she briefly peered into his mind as she stoically answered.
" the suit that you're wearing doesn't give you the right to lash back at the world. Someone thinks you have a potential to make a change in the world….. take it."
At that Robin rubbed his cheek as he answered.
" I know damn well who…."
With that the Titans gestured Robin to continue.
" I know very well what Batman wants me and wishes me to be but here's the catch….. he came just a little too late for me… see he expects me to be a hero but I'm not…. I'm a survivor and survivors aren't always nice guys so go fuck yourselves with the high and mighty bullshit because that doesn't do jack shit to me…. if it comes between me and the other guy, I'll always choose me."
A bit stunned by the outburst Changeling was the first to snap out of it as he asked the following.
"say we believe you tough guy….. why did you return?, why bother warning us in the first place?"
At this Robin was speechless in a long while as the rest of the Titans rounding up the acolytes for the police as Cyborg asked.
" mind giving us a hand while your still here?"
At that Robin snapped out of it as he quickly and quite roughly dragged the acolytes to the entrance as a few solid minutes passed until the cops arrived as Robin mounted on his bike.
"would it kill you to stay in place for a solid minute?"
At that Robin answered Raven.
"actually I'm staying in the city for a while longer, I'm just booking a hotel room."
Raven at that quirked her eyebrows gesturing him to continue talking as he said.
" don't get me wrong you guys live in style…. but I have standards… I won't be caught dead suffering safari breath over there…"
With that he gestured to Changeling who unconsciously breathed into his palms checking if he actually had that much of a bad breath as Robin took off but not before addressing Raven once again.
"look don't make a big deal out of it but I'm sorry…"
At that Raven gave a gentle smile as she replied back.
"don't be sorry just practice self control"
With that Robin disappeared into the distance as Changeling came over gently squeezing Raven's hand.
"something on your mind Gar?"
With that Changeling answered.
" say is my breath really that bad?"
At that Raven smirked as she replied.
" I'm still kissing you right?"
At this Changeling started a small conversation with Raven as Cyborg ushered them to the T car as they started driving back to the tower.
Titan's tower, around midnight, Changeling's room.
As Changeling got out of his shower he stared himself in the mirror for a few minutes before gargling half a bottle of mouth wash before exiting the bathroom to be met with Raven making herself comfortable in his bed, quickly throwing some pyjama pants on he climbed into bed asking.
"hey there…. is something the matter?"
At that Raven answered in a deadpan manner.
"just thinking about Jason."
Reacting with mock insult Changeling replied.
" gee… thanks for taking our marriage so seriously"
At that Raven rolled her eyes as she continued.
"when I looked into his mind all I could feel from him is a sense of loneliness and bitterness."
At that Changeling?gar understood what bothered her as he said.
"don't worry too much he's a tough kid…. he has to be if he can survive Batman's teachings and training.
Wearing a small smirk Raven/Rachel replied.
" you survived his training and your as tough as a jellyfish."
At that Changeling scoffed.
"thanks for the vote of confidence."
At that Raven/Rachel gave a small smirk.
"you're welcome….. now go to sleep we've a long day ahead of us."
With that Changeling did what he was told as he nestled himself to sleep next to Raven as they both got a few good hours of shuteye. Over the next few days Brother Blood's acolytes pressed on with their attacks as the Titans intercepted them in every turn while a mysterious figure shadowed the group from a distance every time Blood's zealots caused a scene with the only thing you could make out of the figure was enhanced cybernetics similar to Cyborg, which the young man caught at the very last second as the mystery man disappeared.
" earth to Cyborg….. anyone there big man?"
At that Cyborg snapped back into reality, not noticing that he was spacing out as he replied Changeling.
"sorry what did you say man? I zoned out…"
At this Changeling sighed as he repeated himself.
" I asked should we have a chat with our friends first? Or should we deliver them straight to the cops?"
With that Cyborg gave a thought once over as he replied.
"Greengo make sure Robin doesn't drive Raven crazy…. I need to ask our 'friends' here something before the cops arrive…"
With that Changeling gave a nod before running off after Robin and Raven as Cyborg gave his complete focus to the acolytes in question.
" who's the man with the mechanical body parts….. talk."
At that one of the acolytes began to chuckle as he exclaimed.
"threat not heathen… when Brother Blood decides to let that knowledge be known you will…"
At that Cyborg smirked back with his reply being.
" okay….. we'll see how loyal to your master you really are from prison… that is if he decides to let you live long enough for you to get there.
Noon, in route to Jump city's correctional facility.
In a vehicle similar in design to the T car the same mysterious figure drove towards the prison, only this time it was revealed to be none other than Cyborg's old buddy Ronald Ron Evers arming himself and the car as he reached the front gates making sure the guards and security cams capturing his image before blowing the guards all away as he made sure to ram the car into the facility before exiting and shooting his way towards the holding cells.
" you've been let out on account of you being my kind of assholes…"
As the prisoners broke free at least three stood in place and a little weary as one of them was Gizmo shooting his mouth off.
"thanks but who the fuck are you? Discount Cyborg?"
At this Ron didn't answer instead he rushed towards Gizmo, grabbing him by the throat and squeezing his neck.
"obviously I'm better…. but now that you mention it I have plans for this motherfucker and I'll need your help short stack."
At that Gizmo's only response was.
" up yours….."
At that Ron squeezed a little harder making Gizmo almost choke as he almost drew blood.
" I didn't think so….."
As he let go of the little bastard Gizmo began whizzing for air as Ron made contact with a certain Brother Blood.
"first stage complete brother…"
At that Blood answered as follows.
'excellent now return back to base.'
At that Ron asked feeling a little insulted and cheated.
"excuse you but why should I? I could kill the motherfucker here and now, I just need a chance…"
At that Blood grew silent as he answered as follows.
' I pay you to follow orders now follow them'
With that the transmission ended as Ron Evers mimed insulting the man ' I pay you to follow orders…' before finally muttering.
"stupid ass nigga…"
Without him noticing or even caring Gizmo made his escape as Ron Evers got back into the vehicle making his exit as well leaving the prison in ruins driving away as the news crew got there just in time to report on the incident.
In the Y car with Cyborg with Raven and Changeling.
At this point and time Cyborg got an update on his mainframe as to what happened as he made a sharp turn towards the prison.
" easy man some of us here are trying to hold on to our lunch…."
At that Cyborg said apologetically.
" sorry man a prison break is in progress and the guy behind it looks like an asshole I used to know…"
At this point Changeling averted his attention to Raven as he said.
"contact Robin we may need backup."
Raven at that replied as follows.
"way ahead of you…. I already informed him."
With that Changeling notified the rest as to what he was about to do before morphing into a falcon, flying away towards the prison as Cyborg kept on driving , accelerating as he tried to keep Changeling well in sight, just in case he does something stupid or dangerous. As Changeling and the rest of the Titans got to the prison complex they saw the devestation that laid before them as Raven quickly used her powers to try and locate as many survivors as she could as Robin unceremoniously pointed out.
"well they're all fucked."
At this point Robin got a dirty glare from the rest as Raven came back with a few injured and Gizmo still wheezing from what Ron did to him as he weakly looked up.
"fuck…. just my luck…"
At that Cyborg spoke with urgency.
" talk who did this to you?"
At that Gizmo tried to speak only to start coughing horribly when Raven healed him just enough to take the pain away as Gizmo tried to talk again.
" it's a discount…. version of you….. you stupid fuck….."
At that Cyborg specified.
"describe him in great detail."
At this Gizmo's only reply was.
"oh yeah?…. what do I get out of this?"
At this Cyborg got real close as he replied.
"you won't get you ass kicked by us…. and more importantly you'll get protection from him…"
At that Gizmo scoffed.
"ha…. you think I'm afraid of that stupid nigger?….. no I want full pardon for my past crimes and immunity from future prosecutions…."
At that Changeling smirked as he warmed his knuckles.
"Cy I think you'd better leave this to me…."
Seeing that Gizmo began to lose color in his face as he exclaim in a panic.
"okay okay I'll talk… just get this crazy fucker away from me…."
With that Gizmo began to talk their ears off describing the one who made the prison break possible in great detail until Robin chimed in.
"not to be captain obvious here bozos but what about the escaped prisoners?… aren't we hunting them down or something?"
At this Changeling replied as follows.
"thanks for volunteering…. now keep up with me if you can motormouth."
At that Robin smirked.
"by all means jungle stink."
As Changeling and Robin had their little back and forth Cyborg and Raven tended to the wounded prison guards as some of them regained consciousness.
" don't move, some of you got hit really bad so it will take some time to heal you properly."
At that one of the guards gave a small nod as he asked the only logical question, what hit them as Cyborg answered briefly.
" you got hit by a small time punk named Ron Evers, a punk that had access tothe same tech I got."
At that raven tried to point out the following however Cyborg had thought ahead as he pointed out.
" I'm backing everything up as we speak… he won't get access to my mind, not by a long shot…"
At that an all too familiar voice spoke up.
" good the few surprises we encounter the better."
With that Night-wing joined the conversation as Cyborg exclaimed.
" not to sound like an ingrate but what are you doing here man?, aren't you supposed to enjoy your honeymoon on some tropic paradise?"
At that Night-wing smirked.
"yes I should but I couldn't get to relax much…. neither did Star."
At this Raven unceremoniously interrupted.
"speaking of Star how is she?"
At that Night-wing answered as follows.
" she's resting back home at Titans tower, keeping our baby safe, speaking of we got a city to keep safe as well so I'll join up with Robin and Beast…. sorry Changeling while you two continuing as you were."
With that the Titans continued as they were taking about 2 hours to round up most of the escaped inmates as Ron Evers himself drove to Brother Blood's undisclosed stronghold barging in without knocking getting a cold reception from the acolytes both male and female alike.
" listen up if y'all don't want you asses kicked I'd call the big man himself… I got words to trade with him."
At that Brother Blood came to greet the visitor as he calmly replied while the acolytes made way for his arrival.
"then please do trade."
Impressed Ron simply asked in a mocking tone.
" do those bitches roll over and beg for more?…"
At that Brother Blood gave a small hint of a smirk as he replied, his cold eyes never leaving the uninvited guest for a second.
" something like that…. however that's not what troubles you am I correct?"
At that Ron answered as a faint sensation of a shiver crawled in his spine.
" you're damn straight…. I could've kill that fool in a sec… pop his head there and then…."
At that Brother Blood stopped him as he reiterated.
" you forget one thing…. for the time being I need him alive… besides didn't we agree that torturing him would be the ultimate revenge?"
At that Ron noddeduck are you talking as he replied.
" sure brother but I made the mistake of not taking him serious the first time…. and I promised myself I will not make that mistake again…."
At that Brother Blood smirked as he concluded the conversation as follows.
"believe me I've made that very similar mistake so that's why I orchestrated that little prison break…. to distract him long enough so my followers could carry out their mission uninterrupted."
At that Ron quirked his eyebrow as he asked.
" mission?….. what the fuck are you talking about?"
Jump city, early afternoon, just outside Sarah Simms apartment.
Outside the apartment building from the other end of the streets parking between two other apartment buildings a dark 1984 Lincoln Town Car with two acolytes eyeballing the entrance as Sarah Simms entered the building.
" make the call."
As the acolyte made the call Sarah Simms entered her apartment as the phone rang as she answered it while taking off her jacket.
" yes who is it?"
From the other end Vic stone answered.
' hey there gorgeous….. sorry I haven't been in touch…. swamped with work you know?"
At that Sarah smiled softly as she replied.
" that's okay… I was swamped too…. so how have you been?"
At that Vic answered.
'still a bit swamped but something came back from the past to bite me in the ass… so I was thinking….'
At that Sarah finished for him.
" you want me to move in with you?"
At that she heard Vic chuckle.
' hey it's your choice…. I was gonna offer to come over and be your bodyguard… so what ever works for you I'm down with that…'
At this point Sarah grinned replying.
"let me pack an overnight bag and I'll be with you within the hour."
At that Cyborg/Vic Stone replied 'cool' before saying goodbye and hanging up as Changeling passed on by in Titans tower's kitchen as he pointed out.
"so you finally asked her to move in with you…. I smell a proposal in the future…"
At that Cyborg smirked.
" give your nose a rest and go set up the guest room."
At that Changeling comically whined.
" yeah about that… can you ask someone else to do that?, my feet are killing me…."
At that Cyborg stated bluntly.
"your feet will survive…. your ass won't, now step to it…."
At that Changeling got defensive as he quipped.
"as anyone ever told you you're wound up too tight?"
At that Cyborg just pointed towards the guest room as Changeling raised his hands in mock surrender.
" okay okay I'm going, don't blow a fuse…. there too expensive to replace anyway right?"
At that Cyborg couldn't help but smirk since for once Greengo was right though he won't say it to him, Changeling's ego is big as it is without the praise already as Cyborg got busy with making dinner for him, Sarah and the rest of the Titans as Night-wing came into the kitchen.
" hey "
At that Cyborg replied.
" hay is for horses….. how's the mother to be doing?"
Night-wing smirked as he answered.
"resting easy thanks…. what about you?"
At this Cyborg quirked an eyebrow asking.
" what do you mean?"
Night-wing elaborated as follows.
" you've dated Sarah for a few good years and still nothing?"
At that Cyborg answered plainly.
"it's complicated…."
At that both men came to a silent understanding , unaware as to how complicated both their future will become.
