Hello everyone! So, I got a request from someone to continue and add another chapter where Bruce gets hurt. It's going to be longer, and have more interaction between Bruce and Natasha. So here it is! I hope that you like it!
It has been three weeks since the incident, and Natasha has healed completely, and now heading on another mission with the others, even though Bruce begged her not to come cause he didn't want her to get hurt again
"Are you sure about this Natasha?" Bruce asked Natasha as the jet flew over the woods
"She'll be fine Bruce. Don't worry." Clint said in reply as he walked by them
"Yeah." Natasaha said, agreeing with Clint "I'll be fine."
"You promise?" Bruce asked and Natasha grabbed his hand
"I promise." Natasha said and they stared into each others eyes until they were interrupted by Tony
"Come on love birds. We're here. Get moving." Tony said, walking by them and getting into his suit as they landed in the woods
They both blushed as they let go of each others hands and then Natasha stood up
"Hey guys." Steve said as he walked across the jet, towards the others, and then they all turned to him
"What?" Clint asked
"I rechecked the area and...we might need the Hulk." Steve exclaimed and Bruce put his head in his hands and groaned
Natasha sat back down next to him and rubbed his back as Tony and Clint walked over to Steve
"What happened?" Tony asked
"They decided to triple thier defences and all thier weaponry." Steve stated
"Tanks?" Tony said
"Twenty-five at least." Steve replied
"Yeah. We might need the Hulk for this." Tony said, and then turned to Bruce "Bruce?"
Bruce looked up at him slowly
"...Yeah." Bruce said after a moment, and then looked back down "I'll be fine..."
"Yeah. You might not even need to let him out Bruce. You'll be fine." Tony said
"Yeah." Bruce replied quietly
"Okay..." Tony said and then looked up at Steve "Let's get going."
"Yeah." Clint agreed as he picked up his bow and arrows
"It'll be fine." Natasha said as she grabbed Bruce's hands in hers, and then Bruce looked up at her
"I know it's just..." Bruce started and then closed his eyes for a moment "I haven't let the other guy out in a while and it's just..."
Bruce opened his eyes and looked up at her "What if he hurts one of them...or you?"
"He won't." Natasha said
"How do you know?" Bruce asked, looking away
"He would never hurt me Bruce." Natasha exclaimed and Bruce looked at her "You would never hurt me."
Bruce closed his eyes and took a deep breath in, and then a couple moments later he opened them again and looked back at Natasha "...Okay...Let's go."
"Okay." Natasha said, and then they both stood up
"Come on." Clint said as he walked up to them "Let's get going."
"Okay." Natasha said and they all walked out of the jet and into the woods
"Once we attack they'll notice we're there. So we have to act fast and destroy as much of the base as we can." Steve stated as they walked through the woods, getting closer and closer to the Hydra base
"Tony and me will focus on destroying the base and getting the information that was stolen from Shield. Romanoff, you, Thor, and Barton focus on all the soldiers." Steve exclaimed
"Okay" Clint replied
"Yes. We will go and destroy all of them and thier base and then we will have a party afterwards for our victory." Thor
"You know that actually sounds nice." Tony said
"Yeah." Clint said in agreement
"Yeah. We are definitely having a party when we get back." Tony exclaimed
"Guys quiet." Natasha said and they all turned to see the base in sight, and then they all ducked behind some rocks
"Okay. We're going in on three. Bruce, we'll tell you if we need you." Tony said as he handed everyone a comm "Say if you need anything."
"Okay." Bruce said as the others all stood up and then started to walk closer to the base
"Wait." Bruce said, grabbing Natasha's hand as she was about to follow the others towards the base
"Bruce. I have to go." Natasha said
"I know just...just be careful okay?" Bruce said as he slowly let go of her hand
"I will." Natasha said as she pecked him on the lips, and then she turned and went off with the others
Bruce sighed as Natasha walked off and then closed his eyes "Be careful." Bruce whispered
"Okay." Steve said as they snuck around behind the Hydra base "Go."
They all separated, Steve and Tony went more towards the base and went to sneak in as Clint, Thor, and Natasha ran and attacked the soldiers
"Ah!" One of the soldiers yelled as Thor hit him with his hammer, sending him across the field, into a tree
Another soldier noticed this and turned and saw them. Then they shouted and waved their arm in the air, and then the other soldiers turned to Clint, Thor, and wall Natasha and started to shoot
"Clint. Cover me." Natasha said as she ran towards the soldiers shooting at them
Some of the soldiers turned to Natasha, but then Clint shot all them in the chest with arrows
"Thanks." Natasha said as she tripped a soldier and knocked him out, and then took his gun and turned and shot another soldier
"You're welcome." Clint replied as he shot another soldier
"Hey, do you guys have the information yet." Natasha asked after a few minutes as she shot another soldier
Scene switch to Tony and Steve walking down a dark, quiet hallway
"No. Not yet." Steve replied quietly as they snuck past some soldiers
"Why are you whispering?" Clint asked over the comm as he shot a soldier and Tony and Steve heard an explosion and a yell and over the comm "Everyone already knows we're here."
"Well they don't know that we're in thier base and about to steal information that they stole." Tony stated as they turned a corner
"Oh, yeah. Right." Clint said
"We're going in now." Steve exclaimed as they walked towards a door at the end of the hall
Scene switch to Natasha hiding behind a big rock
"Okay." Natasha said in reply as she turned and shot a soldier "We'll keep these guys busy out here...You guys hurry up."
"Okay." Steve replied
"Natasha!" Clint said and Natasha turned as he shot an arrow towards her, and then she moved and the arrow shot a soldier that was behind her in the chest
"Thanks." Natasha said
"You're welcome." Clint replied and then Natasha turned and looked behind Clint
"More incoming." Natasha said and Clint turned to see at least fifteen soldiers running at them
"Thor?" Clint said and then a couple moments later Thor came flying down from the sky, lightning surrounding him, and hit the ground, electrocuting all the soldiers and knocking them unconscious
"Thanks." Clint said and then Thor turned to them and started to walk towards them
"Do we have what we need yet?" Thor asked
"I don't know. Stark?" Natasha said
"We have it! Go!" Tony replied over the comm
Scene switch to Steve and Tony running through the hallways of the base, being chased by at least ten soldiers
"Tony!" Steve said, and then he through his shield behind him at a soldier that was about to shoot Tony, hitting him and knocking him out
"Thanks Rodgers." Tony said as they turned a corner
"You're welcome." Steve replied as they burst through the door that led outside
Tony and Steve ran to Thor, Clint, and Natasha
"We have to go." Steve said as they ran up to them
"Uh, guys?" Clint said and they all turned to see almost thirty tanks coming towards them from every direction
"Run!" Steve shouted and they all ran the way that they came, towards the jet
Tony flew up into the air and shot a mini missile at some of the tanks, blowing one up, while Thor shot lightning at some others
"I barely have any missiles left." Tony stated as him and Thor retreated with the others "We aren't going to destroy all of these tanks."
"This way!" Steve said and they all ran behind the rocks Bruce was at
"Are you okay?" Bruce asked Natasha in worry as he went over to her
"I'm fine." Natasha replied
"Well we're not going to be fine for long if we stay here. We can't make it to the jet. It's to far." Tony stated as his helmet opened, and then turned to Bruce "... I'm sorry Bruce..."
Bruce closed his eyes and took a breath in "It's fine." Bruce said
"Are you sure?" Steve asked "It's been months since you last let out the Hulk."
Bruce opened his eyes and looked at the ground "I'll be fine."
"Are you sure your okay." Natasha asked as she grabbed his hand, and then he looked up at her and smiled
"I'll be fine." Bruce replied and then there was an explosion near them
Tony looked behind the rocks to see the soldiers and tanks closing in on them, and then he turned back to the others "We have to go." Tony said
Bruce closed his eyes and took a deep breath in and out "Okay." He said and then opened his eyes again and stood up
Natasha grabbed his hand and Bruce looked at her "Be careful." Natasha said and Bruce smiled
"I will." He replied, and then Natasha let go of his hand as walked out from behind the rocks towards the tanks and soldiers and closed his eyes
Then Bruce's muscles started to expand as he got bigger, his skin turning green, and his shirt ripping off of his body
"You know..I never really thought about what it's like to turn into the Hulk. I wonder what it's like." Tony said as they watched Bruce transform into the Hulk
"Yeah." Clint said
Then Hulk opened his eyes and roared and charged at the soldiers and tanks
"Let's go." Tony said and then he took off into the sky and started to shoot the tanks and soldiers
"Come on." Clint said after a moment and then him, Steve, Thor, and Natasha ran out from behind the rocks and started attacking the soldiers again
"Natasha move!" Clint shouted and Natasha turned to see the tanks turning towards her
Natasha jumped out of the way as the tank shot at her
"Run!" Clint shouted and Natasha turned and ran away from the tank as fast as she could to Clint
The tank shot at her, blowing up the ground and everything that was near her
"Behind here." Clint said and she ran behind a big rock with Clint
They both looked out from behind the rocks to see the tank moving towards them "Guys?" Clint said
Suddenly the Hulk came out of nowhere and ran through the tank, destroying it
"...Wow..." Clint said as he looked at the pieces of the tank fall to the ground "...That was fast."
"Yeah." Natasha said, out of breath
"Let's go." Clint said
"Okay." Natasha said after a moment, and then they went back out into the fight
Scene switch to Steve and Tony fighting soldiers
"How many tanks are there?" Steve asked Tony after a few minutes as he watched a couple tanks come towards them
They both ran behind some rocks as the tanks shot at them "There were..twenty seven." Tony stated as Jarvis showed him the battle "Now there's six."
"The Hulk destroyed all of those?" Steve asked
"Yeah." Tony replied "Well, besides the nine that me, you, Barton, Romanoff, and Thor destroyed."
"Wow." Steve said as the tanks shot at them again and shook the rock that they were hiding behind
"Yeah." Tony said, and peaked out behind the rock to see the tanks closing in on them
"Okay." Tony said after a moment, turning back to Steve "On three."
Steve nodded in reply and tightened his grip on his shield
"One...Two...Three!" Tony said
Tony flew strait up as Steve ran out from behind the rock. Then the tanks turned to Steve, not seeing Tony.
"Uh. Tony?!" Steve said as he ran from the tanks
"Hold on." Tony replied and flew down and knocked out a soldier, and then stole thier grenades
"Catch!" Tony said as he threw the grenade to Steve
Steve jumped up and hit the grenade with his shield towards the tanks, setting it off and blowing both of the tanks up, while Tony threw the other grenade at a couple other tanks, blowing them up too.
"Good job." Steve said as he turned to Tony
"Yeah." Tony replied "Four down. Two to go."
"Just one." Clint said as he walked over to them. "And Hulk already took care of it. So zero actually."
"Okay then. What about the soldiers?" Tony asked
"Most of them just ran off." Natasha said as she walked up to them
"Yes. Once the Hulk appeared most of them retreated back into their base." Thor stated
"Oh." Tony said, his helmet flipping up
"What should we do now?" Clint asked
"Let's go. But before we do..." Tony said, then a few moments later the whole base exploded
"Woah." Clint said as he stared at the explosion "How did you?"
"I just planted a bomb when we were getting the information we needed." Tony exclaimed
"Oh." Clint said, still staring at the wreckage of what was a Hydra base
"Yeah." Tony said
"Let's get going." Steve said after a moment
"Yeah." Tony agreed
"What about the Hulk?" Clint asked and they all turned and looked at the Hulk who was ripping apart an already destroyed tank
"I'll get him." Natasha said, and then started to walk towards him
"Hey big guy." Natasha said softly and the Hulk quickly turned to her with a scowl on his face as he dropped the ripped apart tank
Natasha took off her gloves and dropped them onto the ground as she slowly walked towards him
"The sun's getting real low." Natasha said as she kneeled down and reached her hand out to him
The Hulk grunted as his expression softened, but he didn't move
"Come on." Natasha said, reaching her hand out further
Then he slowly put his hand out, reaching for Natasha's
"That's it." Natasha said as she went closer to him, her hand moving farther towards his
Natasha's hand met his and she gently stroked his wrist as she looked at him
"The sun's getting real low." Natasha said after a few moments as she stroked her hand down and up his forearm one more time
Then suddenly the Hulk pulled away from her and backed up as he grunted, and then he started to shrink as his skin started turning back to it's normal peachy color
"Ahhhhh..." Bruce groaned as he staggered and then fell forward
Natasha caught him and then knelt down where they were both on the ground and then grabbed his hand
Bruce opened his eyes and looked up at her "Natasha." He said
Natasha smiled "Hey Bruce." Natasha replied
"Ahh..." Bruce groaned again, closing his eyes as Natasha helped him up
"Are you okay?" Natasha asked as they stood up
"I'm fine." Bruce replied, opening his eyes and looking at her "Are you okay?"
"Yeah." Natasha replied, smiling "I'm fine."
"You okay Bruce." Tony asked as him, Clint, Steve, and Thor walked over to him and Natasha, stopping a few yards away
Bruce turned to them "Yeah. I'm fine." He replied as Natasha walked away from him and to Clint
"Is he okay?" Clint asked Natasha as she walked up to him
"Yeah. He's okay." Natasha replied
"Good. Let's get going." Tony said
Bruce frowned "Do you guys hear that?" Bruce asked, looking around, and the others turned to him
"No. We don't hear anything." Tony said and then looked at the others "Do you guys hear anything?"
"No." Clint said replied
"No..I don't." Steve said
"What do you hear?" Natasha asked, walking a little towards him, now standing in between him and the others
Bruce looked around, confused, until he saw movement in the trees about four hundred feet away
"What is..." Bruce said as he squinted his eyes, and then after a moment his eyes widened and looked to the side at Natasha and then back at the figure, and then back at Natasha again
"Natasha get down!" Bruce yelled as he ran to Natasha
"Wha-" Natasha started but then Bruce pushed her away from him, sending her crashing into Steve, Tony, Thor, and Clint, as shots were heard
"Ahh..." Natasha groaned as she got up from the ground
"Are you okay?" Clint asked Natasha as they all got up from the ground
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine..." Natasha said and stood there for a moment until her eyes widened and she quickly turned behind her to see Bruce on the ground
"Bruce..." Natasha gasped and then ran towards him, the others quickly following
"Bruce?" Natasha said as she kneeled down next to him
"Oh my gosh..." Steve said as Bruce came into view and he saw five bullet holes in his chest
"Bruce!" Tony said, running over to Bruce's side "Bruce. Buddy?"
"He's in shock." Clint stated as he looked at Bruce who was breathing heavily, and who's eyes were wide and pupils were dilated
Tony turned around and saw a tiny figure in black behind some rocks, reloading thier guns, and he shot his last mini missile at them, blowing them and the rock up, and then he turned back to Bruce
"Bruce?" Tony said, shaking him "Bruce, you have to talk to me."
"He's in shock. He's not going to respond. We need to get him out of here." Clint exclaimed
"Why didn't the Hulk appear?" Tony asked
"I don't know." Clint said in reply "But we need to get him to the jet, now."
"Don't worry Bruce." Tony said as he carefully picked Bruce up and his helmet closed "We'll get you out of here."
"Come on Natasha." Clint said as he grabbed Natasha's hand
Natasha looked up from the ground quickly "Yeah. I'm coming." She said
Tony flew up with Bruce and to the jet, while the others quickly followed him from the ground
"Bruce. Bruce stay with me bud." Tony said, staring at Bruce who's eyes were now closing slightly as he landed and walked to the jet
"Get in and start the jet Steve." Tony said as the jet opened and they all got in quickly
"Is he okay?!" Natasha asked worriedly as she went over to Tony and Bruce, who's eyes were now closed
"He's in shock. We need to get him back to the tower." Clint said as Tony laid Bruce down on the floor
"What are you doing?" Tony asked as Clint grabbed Bruce's wrist
"I'm checking his pulse..." Clint stated as he put his thumb on Bruce's wrist "It's slow. I need to check his breathing."
Clint put his ear to Bruce's mouth for a few seconds and then his breath hitched
"What..." Natasha said
"He isn't breathing." Clint said and then went to check his pulse again "...And his heart stopped."
"What?!" Tony said
"Get the defibrillator Tony." Clint said as he started CPR
"Where is it?!" Tony said frantically
"In the left of the medical cabinet." Clint said as he pushed onto Bruce's chest with his hands
"Bruce. Bruce please, you have to stay with us." Natasha said as she grabbed his hand and tears gathered in the corners of her eyes
"I got it!" Tony said as he pulled the defibrillator out of the cabinet
"Natasha switch me." Clint said "One. Two. Three."
Clint took his hands off Bruce's chest as Natasha put hers on and continued CPR
"Bruce. Please be alright. Please..." Natasha said as tears slipped down her face and she pressed on his chest, and then gave him mouth to mouth "Come on Bruce..."
"Natasha, get ready to move." Clint said as him and Tony came over to them with the defibrillator "Steve, we need you, get over here."
"I'm here." Steve said after a moment, as he walked into the room "Thor's flying."
"Get the cloth and gauze from the cabinet. We need to stop the bleeding or he's going to bleed out." Clint stated
"Okay." Steve replied and then went over to the cabinet and pulled out some cloth
"Okay. Natasha move." Clint said as he turned the defibrillator on and Steve padded down Bruce's chest
"Okay." Clint said as he placed the pads onto Bruce's chest "Everybody move."
Everyone backed away from Bruce and then Clint pressed the shock button on the defibrillator. Bruce's chest went up and then back down as the shock went through his body.
Clint put his ear to Bruce's mouth "He's still not breathing." Clint said
"I'm turning the voltage up." Clint stated as he went over to the defibrillator again and turned up the voltage "Everyone back up."
Everyone backed away again as Clint pressed the button and Bruce's chest lifted up and then went back down
Clint went over to him again and put his ear to Bruce's mouth "He's still not breathing." Clint said and everyone looked down
"Turn it up more." Natasha said, turning the voltage up higher
"Natasha that's too high." Clint said
"No it's not. Nothing is working. We have to try this Clint." Natasha said
"That much will kill a normal person." Clint stated
"He's not normal." Natasha said as tears slipped down her cheeks
"...Okay..do it." Clint said after a moment
"Are you crazy! That could kill him!" Tony said
"He's going to die if we don't do anything Tony. We have to try something." Clint said
"...Okay...do it." Tony said after a few moments
Then Natasha pushed the button again, sending a huge shock through Bruce's body, making him open his eyes and sit up quickly
"Bruce." Natasha said as Bruce quickly got up and started breathing heavily
"Bruce. Calm down." Tony said, grabbing Bruce's arm
Then Bruce pushed Tony away from him onto the ground, and then staggered backwards and fell onto the floor, going unconscious
"Is he okay?" Natasha asked with worry
"He's okay." Clint replied and then looked at his chest "But he needs medical attention now."
"You okay?" Steve asked Tony as Tony got up from the ground
"Yeah." Tony replied as he went over to Bruce "Is Bruce okay?"
"Yeah. He's fine. His breathing is shallow but he's breathing." Clint replied "Get the gauze and the cloth."
"Here." Steve said, handing Clint cloth and gauze
"Thanks." Clint said as he pressed the cloth and gauze against Bruce's wounds, applying pressure and stopping the bleeding
"We need to get to the tower fast." Clint stated
"We are almost there." Tony stated
"Good." Clint replied
"Yeah." Natasaha said quietly as she looked at Bruce "Please be okay Bruce...I need you..."
Scene switch to them on the tower getting off of the jet
"Steve, you and Thor get all the medical stuff out from that jet and bring it down to the floor with the medical bay. Natasha and Clint, you guys come with me." Tony said as they went inside
"Okay." Steve said, and then him and Thor went back to the jet
"Come on." Tony said and him, Clint, and Natasha got into the elevator and went down to the medical bay floor
"Come on." Tony said again when the elevator doors opened and they walked out into the medical bay
Tony walked over to a medical bed and laid Bruce down on it "You guys get the IV pump and the blood bags and the needles from the cabinets." Tony said to Clint and Natasha
"Okay." Clint said and him and Natasha went over and started looking through the cabinets
Then the elevator doors opened and Steve, and Thor walked in with a bunch of medical supplies from the jet
"Steve. Get over here and help me with the bleeding." Tony said as he pressed a cloth to Bruce's chest
Then Steve ran over to them and started pressing on Bruce's chest with another cloth
"Here!" Clint said as him and Natasha ran over with the IV pump, the blood bags, and the needles
"We need to get the bullets out first." Tony stated
"Can we do it without causing further injury?" Steve asked
"I don't know. There in his chest and they all look pretty deep." Tony said
"Well we have to do something." Natasha said
Yeah." Tony agreed "Let's do it. Steve, you stay with me. Everyone else out."
"What. No!" Natasha said "I want to stay here with him."
"...Okay..Than just don't touch anything." Tony exclaimed as he put on gloves, and then he grabbed a bunch of medical tools out of the cabinet
"Steve take these." Tony said as he handed Steve gloves and a scalpel
"I don't know if I can do this Tony." Steve exclaimed, looking up at him
"I'll do it." Clint said, grabbing the gloves and scalpel from Steve
"Thank you Clint." Steve said
"You're welcome." Clint replied as he put the gloves on
"Cut about four inch incisions over each wound so we can get the bullets out. Because his skin is already starting to close on them." Tony exclaimed
"Okay." Clint said, starting to cut open Bruce's skin
Natasha turned away from Bruce and closed her eyes as tears started to fall down her face
"Do you want to leave?" Steve asked her
"No. I don't want to leave him..." Natasha replied, opening her eyes
"Okay." Steve said
"We got the first bullet out." Tony stated after a couple minutes and Natasha, Steve, and Thor turned to them
"How many are left?" Thor asked
"Four." Clint stated as he started to cut another incision
"Steve, get over here and put pressure on his other wounds." Tony said
"Okay." Steve replied, rushing over to them
"It will be alright Lady Natasha." Thor said, putting a comforting hand on her shoulder
"Yeah." Natasha said in reply as she stared at Bruce "Thank you Thor."
"We have two more left." Tony stated after almost ten minutes "Thor, come over here and press a cloth to these to stop the bleeding."
"I am coming." Thor said and he quickly went over to them and pressed a cloth to Bruce's chest
After about ten more minutes they finally got all of the bullets out
"Here's the last one." Tony said as he picked the bullet out of Bruce's chest and put it on a metal tray
"Is he okay?" Natasha asked
"Yeah." Tony said as him, and Clint took off thier gloves "He's okay."
"How did you get the bullets out though? They were in pretty far." Steve said
"Well, the only reason we were able to get those bullets out were because the shock from the defibrillator somehow attracted the bullets, pulling them closer to it, further out of his chest." Tony stated "If we hadn't needed the defibrillator and hadn't used it we wouldn't have been able to get these bullets out and he could've died by now."
"Oh." Steve replied
"Yeah...we're lucky." Tony said
"Yeah..." Steve said
"Get the IV pump." Tony told Clint after a few moments
"Okay." Clint replied and went over to the IV pump and brought it over to them
"Anyone know what blood type he is?" Tony asked
"I think he's AB positive." Natasha stated
"Okay." Tony said "Anyone can give him thier blood then."
"I'll do it." Steve said
"Okay." Tony replied as he readied the needle syringe and blood bag "Hold your arm out."
Steve put his arm out and then winced once Tony put the needle into it and started to draw blood
"How much do you need?" Steve asked after a few moments
"I don't know." Tony said "We'll start out with one or two pints."
"Okay." Steve said
"Clint, you Natasha and Thor keep an eye on Bruce and get the IV pump ready while I do this." Tony said
"Okay." Clint replied and they went over to Bruce, and then a couple minutes later Tony was done and he pulled out the needle from Steve's arm
"Okay. Here." Tony said as he handed some gauze to Steve
"Thanks." Steve said, putting the gauze on his arm
"Is he okay?" Tony asked, going over to Clint and Natasha, and Thor
"His breathing is very shallow. And his pulse is very slow." Clint stated
"We might need to put him on a ventilator." Tony stated "Get that out just in case. It's right behind the cabinet."
"Okay." Clint replied, and then went to the cabinet to get the ventilator "How do you have all of this?"
"I don't know." Tony said "Just in case I guess."
"Here's the pump." Natasha said as she rolled the IV pump over to Tony
"Thanks." Tony said as he took it and then hooked the blood bag up to it
"Here's the ventilator." Clint said as he brought it out
"Just leave that there." Tony said
"Okay." Clint replied and left it there and walked over to them
"While I do this you guys clean his wounds." Tony said as hooked the needle to the tube
"Okay." Steve said, and then he got some cloth and started to wipe and clean Bruce's bullet wounds
"Please be okay." Tony said as he straitened Bruce's arm and inserted the IV "Please be okay."
"His bullet wounds are already closing again." Steve stated
"That's good." Tony said as he finished taping the needle down
"His breathing is still slow." Natasha exclaimed
"Well it's not stopping. That's good." Tony said "Let's just get him the oxygen mask. That'll help. If we have to we'll put him on the ventilator. Otherwise let's just give him oxygen through the mask."
"Okay." Clint said as he went to the cabinet and dug through it
"Is this it?" Clint asked after a moment, holding up an oxygen mask and machine
"Yeah. That's it." Tony said, walking over to Clint and grabbing it from him "Thanks."
"You're welcome." Clint replied
"Guys. He's not breathing!" Steve said
"What?!" Tony said, quickly turning and running back over to Bruce with Clint quickly following, and then he started to do CPR again
"Do you need the defibrillator?" Clint asked Tony
"Bring it over." Tony said and Clint ran and got the defibrillator and brought it over to them
"Why did he have to get shot. Why did it have to be him." Tony said as he pressed into Bruce's chest
"Why didn't the Hulk come out when he got injured. Why." Tony said as Clint started to put the defibrillator pads onto Bruce's chest
"I don't know Tony.." Steve said in reply "I don't know..."
"They're on." Clint said as he backed away from Bruce "Get back."
Tony stopped CPR and slowly pulled the IV out of Bruce's arm and then backed away from him, then a few moments later Clint pressed the defibrillator and Bruce's chest rose and then fell
"He's still not breathing." Natasha said, tears welling up in her eyes, after she put her ear to Bruce's mouth
"I'm doing it again. Back up." Clint said and Natasha backed away from Bruce
Then Clint turned up the voltage higher and pressed the button, making Bruce's chest rise and fall again. Clint went over to Bruce and put his ear to his mouth
"... He's breathing." Clint stated after a moment and everyone breathed a sigh of relief
"Let's put him on the breathing machine." Tony said after a few moments
"Which one?" Clint asked
"The mask one, not the tube one." Tony stated as he put the needle back in Bruce's arm
"Okay." Clint replied and he left the ventilator by the cabinet and brang the oxygen mask machine over to them "Here."
"Thanks." Tony said and then put the mask over Bruce's mouth and nose and then turned it on "That should help with his breathing. If he stops breathing again we'll put him on the ventilator."
"...What do we do now..." Steve asked after a few moments
"I don't know... let's just wait and hope for the best..." Clint said
"..Yeah..." Tony said quietly
Scene switch to Natasha sitting on a chair next to Bruce, her head laying down on the bed
"You want to switch and get some rest?" Clint asked, walking towards her
"No. No I'm fine." Natasha replied tiredly
"Natasha, please rest. It's been almost three days." Clint said
"I can't. Not until he wakes up." Natasha said "He didn't leave me. I'm not leaving him."
"...Okay." Clint said after a moment "Tell me if you need anything."
"Okay." Natasha replied as Clint walked away, and the he got into the elevator and left
Natasha sighed as she turned back to Bruce "Please be okay Bruce... please be okay..."
"I brought the others." Clint stated after about ten minutes as he walked back into the room with the other Avengers "I figured we could talk to get your mind off of Bruce."
"Yeah." Natasha said as she turned to them and they all sat down
"What do you guys want to talk about?" Natasha asked after a few moments
"How about Shawarma." Tony said
"No." Clint said in reply "We are not doing that again."
"Why?" Tony asked "It's good."
"I know, but talking about it for three hours." Clint said
"That was fun." Tony exclaimed
"No. It was not fun." Clint said and everyone chuckled except Tony
"So. You guys always talk about Budapest. What is that?" Steve asked after a few moments
"It's a mission we went on that was in Hungary." Clint stated, and smiled at Natasha
"Yeah." Natasha said, smiling back at Clint
"Quit staring at eachother already. That is creepy!" Tony said to Natasha and Clint after a few moments and everyone started laughing
Then after a few moments Natasha stopped laughing and frowned, and looked down
"You okay?" Clint asked Natasha and the rest of them stopped laughing
"Yeah." Natasha said in reply
"You sure?" Clint asked again
"Yeah. I'm fine. It's just..." Natasha said "...what if he doesn't wake up Clint. What if he..."
"Don't say that." Clint said "He will."
"Yeah." Natasha replied, closing her eyes and putting her head down
Clint lifted her chin up and Natasha opened her eyes and looked at him "He will Natasha." Clint said "He will wake up. He's just as strong as you are."
"Yeah." Natasha said, closing her eyes, and then opened them again a few moments later and smiled "Thank you Clint."
"You're welcome Natasha." Clint replied as he smiled back
Suddenly Bruce opened his eyes and shot up
Natasha quickly turned "Bruce." Natasha gasped and everyone turned to him
"Bruce, buddy, it's okay." Tony said as Bruce ripped the mask off of him and threw it across the room, knocking over a table, and ripped out the IV and threw it on the ground, and then he kicked the covers off of him, and got off the bed quickly, and backed up against the wall, breathing heavily
"...Tony..." Bruce said after a couple moments, looking around
"Yeah. It's me. Are you okay?" Tony asked, going to him
"Ahh..." Bruce groaned, squeezing his eyes shut as he held his chest "My chest hurts..."
"Yeah." Tony said
Then after a moment Bruce opened his eyes quickly "Where is Natasha?! Is she okay?!" He asked with worry
"I'm okay." Natasha replied, stepping out from behind Clint, and Bruce turned to her
"Natasha." Bruce said as he ran to her and hugged her
"Bruce." Natasha said as she hugged him back
"Come on." Steve said quietly to Tony, and then the rest of them left the room
"Are you okay?" Bruce asked after a moment, moving her hair out of her face
"I'm okay. Are you?" Natasha asked
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be." Bruce said
Natasha frowned "You don't remember." Natasha said
"Remember what?" Bruce asked
"You're hurt Bruce...You were shot in the chest..five times. You almost died." Natasha exclaimed and Bruce looked down at his chest which was wrapped up
"Oh..." Bruce said as he looked at his chest, and then he looked back up at Natasha
"Well, I'm okay now." Bruce stated, as he grabbed her hands in his
"Are you sure?" Natasha asked
"Yes. I'm fine." Bruce said "Besides, I'll be fully healed in a few days anyway."
Natasha jumped on him and hugged him, closing her eyes
"I almost lost you..." Natasha whispered while hugging him
Bruce hugged her back "I'm sorry." He whispered back
"Don't do that again." Natasha said, pulling away and opening her eyes
"I had to. I couldn't let you get hurt." Bruce said
"Don't do that again." Natasha said again, tears gathering up in her eyes
"I won't." Bruce said after a moment, and pulled her into another hug "I won't do that again...I promise."
"You promise." Natasha said, hugging him tighter
"I promise." Bruce said, and they stood there for a few moments in each others arms until they broke the hug
"I love you." Bruce said after a moment, brushing her cheek
"I love you too." Natasha replied, going closer to him, and then closing her eyes and putting her lips onto his
Bruce wrapped his arms around her and cupped her cheek with his hand, pulling her closer to him as they kissed
"You should be in bed Bruce. Resting." Natasha said after a few moments, opening her eyes and breaking the kiss
"I don't need to." Bruce said, opening his eyes and then shutting them again and putting his lips back onto hers
"Yes you do." Natasha exclaimed, breaking the kiss again
"Fine." Bruce said in reply, pushing Natasha onto the bed and kissing her more
Natasha laughed "Stop." She said after a moment, pushing Bruce off her and getting up from the bed "Seriously Bruce. You need rest."
"Fine." Bruce replied, opening his eyes again "...One more kiss?"
"Fine." Natasha said, closing her eyes and leaning back into him and kissing him again
A couple minutes later they broke apart and stared into each others eyes for a few moments until Bruce gasped and backed away from Natasha, squeezing his eyes shut in pain
"Bruce?" Natasha asked in worry
"Ahhh..." Bruce groaned as he held his chest, his eyes still closed
"Bruce?" Natasha asked again, more urgently
"I...I'm fine." Bruce said after a moment, opening his eyes
"Are you sure? What happened?" Natasha asked
"My chest really hurts." Bruce stated, and then gasped again, squeezing his eyes shut, and then grabbing onto the medical bed and clenching his teeth
"Bruce." Natasha said in worry
"Bruce?" Natasha said again after a couple moments when Bruce didn't reply
"Natasha." Bruce said through his clenched teeth "Leave. Now."
"Bruce." Natasha said, going towards him
"Leave Natasha." Bruce snarled as he went on his knees, and Natasha backed away, startled
"I'm not leaving you Bruce." Natasha exclaimed after a moment, kneeling down next to him and grabbing his hand
Bruce opened his bright green eyes and looked at her "P-please Natasha...I d-don't want to h-hurt you." Bruce said shakily
"You won't hurt me Bruce. He won't hurt me." Natasha stated
"If my tr-transformation i-isn't intended then h-he is just b-blinded i-in rage and d-doesn't c-care about a-anyone." Bruce stuttered as he held back the Hulk "He-he'll h-hurt you."
"Just look at me Bruce." Natasha said, grabbing his hands in hers "Look at me."
Bruce looked up at her with his bright green eyes and looked at her
"It's okay. Just take deep breaths. In and out." Natasha said and Bruce started breathing along with her
"That's it. It's okay." Natasha said, stroking Bruce's arm as his eyes started to get less green until all that was left was it's normal chocolatey brown
"I'm sorry Natasha." Bruce said, his head down and his eyes closed
"Hey." Natasha said, putting her hand to his cheek, and Bruce opened his eyes and looked up at her "It's okay."
"It's not okay. I could've hurt you." Bruce stated, looking away from her
"You wouldn't have hurt me Bruce." Natasha said
"Y-yes I would've Natasha. J-just like I've h-hurt e-everyone else in m-my life." Bruce exclaimed, closing his eyes as tears slipped out of them and fell down his cheeks "... I-I'm a m-monster."
"Bruce." Natasha said "Look at me."
Natasha raised Bruce's chin and he opened his eyes so he was facing her
"You would never hurt me Bruce. You aren't a monster." Natasha exclaimed and Bruce looked away "...He may have hurt people, and he may have hurt me once on the Helicarrier...But it wasn't his fault...It wasn't your fault...It was an accident...You weren't in control...And he would never hurt me...You would never hurt me."
"What if...what if there is another accident...and I hurt you..." Bruce asked
"It wouldn't be your fault...and we would get through it..together..." Natasha said, squeezing his hands
Bruce looked up at her after a moment "Together?"
"Together." Natasha said
Bruce looked away "You wouldn't...hate me..." Bruce said, glancing up at her
"No. Of course not." Natasha replied
"But...I would hurt you." Bruce said, looking down
"I will always love you Bruce. No matter what." Natasha stated and Bruce looked up at her
"Always..." Bruce said
"Always." Natasha said, smiling
"Thank you Natasha." Bruce said
"You're welcome Bruce." Natasha replied and then closed her eyes, leaned into him and pressed her lips onto his
Bruce closed his eyes as he melted into the kiss and returned it with passion. And then after a few moments they slowly broke apart, and opened thier eyes
"Now you need to rest." Natasha stated after a moment
"Okay." Bruce replied as they got up from the floor
"Here." Natasha said, helping him back into the bed
"Thank you." Bruce said as Natasha covered him with the blanket
"You're welcome." Natasha replied
"Ah." Bruce groaned, squeezing his eyes shut as he held his chest
"Hold on." Natasha said as she went over to a cabinet and then pulled out some pain killers
"Here." Natasha said, handing Bruce the pain killers and a glass of water that was on the cabinet
Bruce smiled as he took them "Thanks."
"Do you need anything else?" Natasha asked after Bruce took the pain killers with the water, and then she took them from him and put them on the table
"You." Bruce said, smiling
Natasha smiled back and kissed him again
"Wait." Natasha said as she broke away from the kiss, and then she turned to her left
Natasha walked around the bed to the other side of it and grabbed the IV which was on the ground and turned back to Bruce, and when he saw the needle he paled
"It's okay Bruce." Natasha said as Bruce stared at the needle fearfully "But you need this. We gave you all the blood you needed but this is helping your body get the nutrition and water you need in it. So unless you want to try to eat and drink now, you have to put this back in."
"I'll try to eat and drink." Bruce replied
"Okay." Natasha said and put the IV down on the table, and then went over the the oxygen mask that was on the floor and picked it up
"Here." Natasha said, walking back over to Bruce and handing him the mask "I'm going up to the kitchen to make you something. If you need anything tell Jarvis and he'll tell me. And if you feel like you can't breath or your going to pass out tell Jarvis so that he can tell me, and then put this on."
"Okay." Bruce said
"Okay. I'll be right back." Natasha exclaimed as she walked over to the elevator, and it then opened and she got in it "Bye."
"Bye." Bruce replied as the elevator closed and Natasha left
Scene switch to Natasha in the kitchen on the main floor, looking around
"What are you looking for?" Steve asked, walking into the room
"Something for Bruce to eat." Natasha stated
"Is he alright?" Tony asked as he walked into the room with the others following
"Yeah. His chest just hurts." Natasha replied "And he doesn't want the IV back in so he wants to try and eat something instead."
"You should make him a smoothie. That's probably best for after everything that's happened to him. Nothing to hard on his stomach." Clint exclaimed
"Yeah. You're probably right." Natasha said, and then started to get out fruit and the milk and the blender
"Do you think he'll be okay?" Natasha asked after a few moments as she put some strawberries and bananas in the blender, along with some milk
"I'm sure he'll be fine." Clint reassured Natasha, putting a comforting hand on her shoulder
"Yeah." Steve agreed
"Yeah. I'm just...worried about him." Natasha stated as she got some ice out from the freezer and added it into the blender
"Yeah...We all are." Tony said
Scene switch to Bruce sitting up on the bed, fidgeting with his hands
Then Bruce looked up to see Natasha walking towards him "Hey." Bruce said, smiling
"Hey." Natasha replied, and held out a cup "I made you a smoothie. Clint thought it would be the best for your stomach."
"Thanks." Bruce said as he took the glass from Natasha, and then started to drink it
"Need anything else?" Natasha asked as Bruce as he put the cup down on the table that was now half drank
"No. I..." Bruce started but then squeezed his eyes shut and held his chest
"It's hurting still." Natasha asked with concern and Bruce nodded in reply
"That was really strong medicine." Natasha stated as she walked over to the cabinet and pulled out another bottle of pain killers "I don't know why it hasn't worked by now."
"Probably because of the Hulk. He increased my metabolism and made it so that food and medicine goes through my body faster, and made it that I burn off more energy then a normal person. Kind of like Steve." Bruce exclaimed as Natasha walked back over to him with the pain killers and the glass of water he drank from earlier
"Yeah. That makes sense. We should probably give you double then. So that it doesn't wear off that fast." Natasha said as she opened the bottle and got some out for him
"Yeah." Bruce said with agreement as Natasha handed him two more pills and the water "Thanks."
"Do you want to rest?" Natasha asked Bruce once he finished taking the pain killers
"No." Bruce replied as Natasha took the glass from him and put it back on the table "I'm fine."
"Are you sure Bruce. You need rest. And you're probably tired." Natasha stated
"I am." Bruce said
"Then why don't you want to go to bed?" Natasha asked
"I..." Bruce said, looking down and fidgeting with his hands
"...Usually after something like this I...I have nightmares..." Bruce exclaimed after a few moments, looking up at Natasha while still fidgeting with his hands
"Oh...What are they about?" Natasha asked and Bruce looked away from her
"It's okay. You don't have to tell me..." Natasha said
"I'm sorry... I'll try to get some sleep...but..can you...can you stay with me?" Bruce asked, looking up at her
"Of course I'll stay with you." Natasha said
"Thank you." Bruce said
"Jarvis turn off the lights." Natasha said as Bruce moved over and Natasha laid down in bed with him, and then the lights shut off
"It's alright." Natasha said, and grabbed Bruce's hand when she saw his nervousness "I'm right here."
Bruce smiled "Yeah. Thank you Natasha." Bruce said
"You're welcome Bruce." Natasha replied, and then they shut thier eyes and went to sleep
Scene switch to Natasha's eyes opening slowly and her sitting up and turning to Bruce who was asleep
Then she slowly got out of the bed and went over to the table and drank the rest of Bruce's water
"What time is it?" Natasha whispered to herself as she looked around, and then she pulled out her phone "12:37"
"Miss Romanoff."
Natasha looked up "What is it Jarvis?" Natasha asked
"Doctor Banner seems to be having a nightmare." Jarvis stated and Natasha turned to Bruce and went over to him
"Bruce." Natasha said as she hurried over to Bruce who was thrashing in his bed and breathing heavily
"Bruce wake up it's just a dream." Natasha said, gently shaking his shoulders "Bruce."
"Shall I wake the others?" Jarvis asked
"No it's fine Jarvis. I got this." Natasha said and then shook Bruce more "Bruce. Bruce wake up."
"Ahh!" Bruce yelled as he shot up, tears in his now green eyes
"Bruce. It's okay. It was just a dream. I'm here." Natasha said, holding his hands in hers
"Na-Natasha." Bruce stuttered, tears starting to fall down his face
"Yeah. I'm here." Natasha said "It was just a dream Bruce."
"Natasha" Bruce said, hugging her and crying into her shirt
"I'm here Bruce. It's okay." Natasha said as she rubbed his back
After a few minutes Bruce calmed down "Are you okay?" Natasha asked after Bruce stopped crying and broke away from her
"Yeah." Bruce replied, looking away from Natasha "I'm fine."
"You can tell me anything." Natasha exclaimed "You know that right."
"Yeah." Bruce said, glancing up at her "I know."
"...Do you want to talk about it..." Natasha asked after a few moments
"I..." Bruce started
"It's okay. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Natasha said
"...I dreamed of m-my mother...and m-my father..." Bruce stated and then looked up at Natasha "...And you..."
"M-my f-father..." Bruce started and then stopped and closed his eyes which tears were gathering in
"It's okay." Natasha said, rubbing his back and holding his hand
"M-my father b-beat and k-killed my m-mother in f-front of m-me again..." Bruce began, closing his eyes as tears slipped out of them "I-I watched her d-die again a-and then h-he blamed me for it...a-and he c-called me a m-monster...a-and a f-freak..."
"A-and then e-everything was dark...b-but then y-you were there...A-and I-I turned and...a-and I killed you..." Bruce said, eyes still closed as tears flowed down his face and fell onto the blanket
"Bruce..." Natasha said and then Bruce's breathing started to become quicker as it became more shallow
"Bruce?" Natasha asked in worry as Bruce started gasping for air
"It seems that he is having a severe panic attack." Jarvis stated
"Bruce. Bruce you need to look at me." Natasha said "You're having a panic attack. You need to breath okay. Just breath."
Bruce started to gasp for air as his breathing got more shallow, and then tears started to fall down his face as he started to cry
"Bruce it's okay. I'm right here okay. I'm right here. Look at me. Bruce look at me." Natasha said, and Bruce opened his eyes and looked up at Natasha "That's it, now just breath okay. Just breath."
"It's okay." Natasha said as she gently hugged him "It's okay. I'm right here Bruce it's okay."
Natasha stayed there and hugged Bruce as his breathing slowed down, letting him cry on het shirt as tears fell down his face
Bruce calmed down and then looked up at Natasha after almost twenty minutes "N-Natasha" He stuttered
"I'm here." Natasha said, hugging him again "I'm here Bruce."
"I-I'm s-sorry." Bruce said, looking away from her
"Bruce..." Natasha said, and then she pulled Bruce into a hug "Listen to me. You don't need to be sorry. And you aren't a freak, or a monster. Your father was wrong about you. Your mother's death wasn't your fault. And you would never hurt me. Ever."
"Thank you Natasha." Bruce said after a few moments as they hugged "For everything."
"You're welcome Bruce." Natasha replied, and they stayed like that for a few minutes until they slowly broke apart
"I love you Bruce." Natasha said to Bruce, holding his hands in hers as she looked into his eyes
"I love you too Natasha." Bruce replied, and then he pulled her closer to him, closed his eyes, and slowly pressed his lips back onto hers
