Hi!

So, this is a bit of a teaser for a fic i'm working on. it's not the fic, but i can say it is tied to it. I've noticed that there's a lack of TOV fics with an adventure tied directly to the main story. and for a few months this idea has been swirling in my head, and it was really hard to get it...right. So, i'm finally ready to start showing some of it off as a teaser. and i plan on making chapters ahead of time and finishing it to completion! that's the plan at least, i don't want to make any promises but i do want this to be the best i can make it! so it may take some time. I really hope this turns out well. and i'm really sorry if there's a lot of mistakes in grammar and wording!

anyways, please enjoy this small piece of my work!

"Please, please! Don't do this, you don't know what'll happen if you do!" he was backed against the corner, his arms cut up and a fresh wound along his head. Behind the shadow that loomed over him, all his body guards laid in pools of their own blood. No mercy was given, and he could only grovel as he pulled out all the Gald and jewels he owned "Please, take everything, take all my treasures, and my jewels! I'll... I'll even let you know where I keep all of the books I stole from the Empire! Just please, take everything but me!" the noble cried as the tips of a golden and blue blade neared his face, but just as they neared, the figure drew them back. The noble looked up to see a glimmer of malice in the mercenary's eyes, his guard faltered as he stared in shock of who this person was "your eyes…no, it's…it's impossible!"

"That's funny, I didn't think you'd recognize me." the softly spoken voice was strangely soothing despite how terrified the man was, he stared wide eyed upon them- He was terrified, but he knew why he had to die "You've come to finish me…my sin's have finally caught up, but I swear, I wanted a free life just like you. You know how horrible they are, what they've done to us both!" he yelled, trying to get through to them. The figure's face was clear now, their eyes twitched and the malice that was once there was now a look of empathy. Alas, there was a somber smile upon the mercenary's face. As if they were sorry for what was to be done.

"Yeah, I know."

The screams of a dying man rang out through the empire, knights close by ran to the manor of Duke Erlton where fire burned brightly. In the morning to come, when the fire was put out and everything the Duke owned was burnt ash. They found the chard lumps of the men who served him. And from what they could identify off the Duke's body, was his bronze pendant of his wife and daughter.

On the grey morning of his funeral, after his family left since the hours they cried, a shadow loomed over the grave. What was left was his bronze pendant on his gravestone- sealed in a glass box. The figure's hand waved above the glass box, a small blue light shining bright.

Later, his daughter would come to mourn once more. Finding the pendant gone, but the glass box untampered.

I know it's short and a bit confusing, but if you're reading this, please expect more! I will have the start of the story published soon. It's a work in progress, so the title is just a representation of what is to come. Thank you for reading!
