"Oh my goodness, what time is it?" Jack sleepily exclaimed, waking up from their nap, Sue still sleeping. Without waking her, he finagled to get his phone out of his pocket. "8:52!" He exclaimed. "We've been sleeping here for what, 2 hours?" He said to himself, then gently shook Sue awake. Once she was, she sleepily looked at him. "It's almost 9. We should get back."

"Did you say 9?" She asked, fully awake now, signing the number for confirmation.

He nodded. "Yeah. They're going to think we dropped off the face of the earth."

"Well, we better get going!" She exclaimed, getting up. Jack followed suit, and they walked back to Donna's room.

"Well, well, well. I see you finally decided to join us." Myles curtly said upon their entrance into the room.

"Yeah, where were you?" Bobby asked.

"We, uh," Jack started. "We fell asleep."

"Really?" Mya asked, annoyed. "We're here, waiting to hear what happened, which D won't say a word, mind you, and you're just taking a nap?"

D chuckled, hearing her annoyance. "They're here now, you'll find out what happened soon enough."

"Yeah, what did happen?" Jack asked as Sarah got up from the bench seat to let Sue and Jack sit down. She herself sat at the end of the bed, and the moment she sat down, Donna moaned.

All questions out the window, D went straight to his wife, holding her hand. "I'm right here, honey." He quietly reassured.

"D?" She quietly said, slowly coming to. "Wha-what happened?"

"What do you last remember?" D asked.

She squeezed her eyes, thinking. "We were in a room, tied up."

He nodded when she looked at him for answers. "Yes. Then you cut your finger with a rusty nail to write a message on the wall."

"Which was actually very helpful." Jack interrupted.

D nodded, looking at his friend, then looked at his wife. "You got sick, and I cared for you until I could get you to safety, to a hospital." He finished.

She slightly smiled at him. "Thank you for taking care of me."

"Of course." He replied. "I wouldn't leave my wife like that, no matter what."

"Now that we got the explanation to Donna over with, maybe you could start from the top?" Mya impatiently asked with all the patience she could muster.

"Yes, of course." D replied, turning to his friends. "We were at home, I was logging onto work after lunch, someone rang the doorbell, I answered and it all went blank until we woke up in that room."

"Was this the man that kidnapped you?" Jack asked, showing him a picture on his phone.

"We didn't see our kidnapper, but this looks like the guy that took out into the woods to die." He said as he inspected to photo. "Who is it?"

"Kevin Lane." Jack answered.

"Kevin Lane," D repeated, thinking. "Where have I heard that name before?"

"Remember 5 years ago, we had that case at the college, we were following his IP and somehow he transferred his IP to you?"

D frowned as he tried to place the memory, then his eyes widened in remembrance. "Yes!" He exclaimed. "That's the same guy?"

Jack nodded. "He had been hiding out in South Dakota since, it appears, and I guess you were the reason he came back, for revenge."

"Please tell me we got him now." He worriedly asked.

Mya shook her head. "No, he just disappeared off the face of the map again. We were hoping you guys could give some insight on where he might've went."

He shook his head, looking down as he thought as hard as he could. "No, sorry, nothing. He really didn't say anything."

"Well, something tells me he's not done with us." Bobby suspiciously said.

"No, I don't think so." Jack replied. "But next time, we'll be prepared."

"But what if it's another 5, 7, even 10 years from now?" Sarah asked. "Most of us will have retired, moved on, it won't be the same."

Bobby shook his head. "Something tells me it will be sooner than that."

"Jack, I'm worried." Sue quietly said, seeing what everyone was saying.

"Don't worry." He comforted. "We weren't prepared this time. Next time, we will be."

"Promise?"

"PROMISE." He signed. They both smiled at each other, happy their friends were safe.

Sue happily sighed as she and Jack sat in front of their fireplace in their home. "I'm so glad everyone's safe." She said, watching the flickering fire.

"ME-TOO." He signed.

"Do you really think Kevin will come back?"

He shrugged. "It's hard to say, but the way he left seems suspicious, like he's playing with us, taking us out one by one."

"I don't like that concept." She replied.

"Me either. That's why we're going to be one step ahead of him every time."

"And how are we going to do that?"

"Mya's researching every single lead she can think up to find anything and everything about him at this very moment. People like this tend to be creatures of habit. This will benefit us later on, just in case."

"In case of what?" She asked.

"In case something happens."

"Promise me nothing will happen. If we take precautions, we should be safe, right?" Sue asked.

Jack nodded. "I promise you, I will do everything in my power to keep us all safe, and to arrest Kevin. We will keep Detective James in the know, just in case he comes back by him. No matter what, or how, we will do everything in our power to arrest him, to keep everyone safe for good."

Sue smiled, then leaned up against Jack. "Good."

"I hope I can." He whispered to himself when she couldn't see, then sent up a prayer that he could keep his promise.
