- Jay breathe with me, focus on my voice.- Upton told him
It took some time, but slowly the stuck detective began to recover. He was back to reality.
Hailey never stopped talking to him or touching him.
- You breathe with me, slowly, - she said
The detective followed her, or at least at first he tried and struggled, then slowly relaxed.
- Thanks,- he whispered, leaning his back against the seat.
- Thank you for telling me all this. I know how difficult and painful it is for you to talk about what happened when you were in the military. Just remember that I am here for you and I will always be there, I care a lot about you Jay.- Hailey told him.
The detective looked at the colleague with a slight smile on his face. He was happy to have her by his side.
A sense of malaise, however, still pervaded him. The world around him was in motion, as if it were spinning, his head was spinning and a strong nausea was making its way into him.
He immediately opened the door and holding on to the car he got out of the vehicle.
He moved away a little, just enough to be out of sight of the colleague and began to vomit. It was an anxious nausea. He was emptying his stomach even though there wasn't much in it.
In reality it was as if he wanted to throw out all the suffering, the pain he felt more than the food.
Although the detective had moved away so as not to worry her colleague, she had gotten out of the car and was standing a little further back than him with a bottle of water in her hand.
When the detective seemed to have finished she handed it to him making him rinse his mouth and then take a few sips.
- Goes better? - she asked
- Yes, thank you. - replied the detective still a bit stunned.
Soon they returned to the car to prepare to enter the military base.
His heart was beating wildly, his body was shaking. He would have liked to run away from there, but unfortunately this was not possible. It was time to face his demons.
It was going to be more or less quick, a meeting with Captain Logby and then finally out of there.
