Will's condition was under observation, but he still hadn't woken up. His body was trying to recover, he was exhausted.

After the drainage was inserted, everything was improving.

The saturation had increased even though he had not reached the normal level in fact he was still with oxygen.

Rhodes and Nurse Lockwood went to check on him from time to time.

A couple of hours later Dr. Halstead began to move just as Meggie was about to leave the room.

Immediately she stopped and came back to Will trying to calm him and make him move as little as possible.

The doctor had a lack of memory about what had happened, for example he did not remember having passed out as soon as he arrived at the hospital.

But he was aware that he was lying down, perhaps in a bed, and that he had something covering part of his face.

In fact, the first thing he did was bring his hand to his mouth to remove that thing that he had in front of it.

Gently, however, he was stopped by the nurse.

- Hey Will, it's Meggie. Everything is alright. It's the oxygen mask. Can you open your eyes for me? - she asked

The doctor dropped his hand and slowly, with great effort, as the lids seemed strangely heavy, he opened his eyes.

- Good morning, well awake. - said the nurse.

He didn't answer, just gave her a smile.

He was feeling much better than when he arrived, but still not well.

He felt pain when he breathed, despite a central line being inserted into his arm to give him fluids and painkillers.

- I'm going to call Dr. Rhodes. - she said promptly leaving the room.

Shortly thereafter she returned followed by the doctor.

- Hey Will, you finally woke up. - Connor said - How do you feel? -

- Good,- said Halstead wearily

- Yes and then? - Asked the doctor

- Tired, a little sore, but better. - Will answered sincerely this time

- Tell me what happened to you? - asked the doctor. Connor needed to find out how his friend had caused himself that problem or rather who had reduced him to that state.

- You know you were damned lucky. Had I arrived a few minutes later, perhaps we could not have helped you. -

Dr. Halstead didn't answer, just took a deep breath

- Who treated you like that? - Rhodes asked again directly, modifying the question.

- I don't know. - answered the colleague lying on the bed. - I woke up like this.-

- Will, this isn't spontaneous pneumothorax. You have two large purple bruises, one on the chest and one near the pit of the stomach. Who did this to you? - asked the doctor.

- I do not know. I… I was sleeping, - Halstead replied visibly agitated.

- Hey hey, it's okay. - Meggie said trying to calm him down.

-I ... I was sleeping with my brother, he wasn't feeling well. I woke up with this severe pain and couldn't breathe. - Will went on.

- Could it be that he hurt you? involuntarily thin ... - Connor asked.

For a moment he didn't answer, he lowered his eyes away from his two friends.

He didn't want to put him in the middle of his brother, he was already sick with his problems. Jay didn't have to know. But thinking about it he realized that he could not be silent.

- My brother had a nightmare, - he said after taking a deep breath, - he must have hit me with something.- But I'm not sure. However, he didn't do it on purpose. -

Connor and Meggie looked at each other at that confession, but chose not to say anything so as not to upset the doctor more.

- Okay, Will, take it easy. It is nothing serious. I will keep you here for a day or two under observation until the functioning of your lung is stable and then I will send you home prescribing a few more days of absolute rest and a subsequent gradual resumption of activities.

The doctor immediately turned around, looking his colleague and friend in his eyes again and said agitatedly:

- I ... I can't stay here. I have to go home. Jay needs me. -

- Will stay calm. You have a fixed chest drain, we must first wait to be able to remove it to discharge you. - Connor replied

- Please take it off. I'm fine - Will begged him.
