Dr. Rhodes had returned to check on Will and to his surprise found him tired, fatigued. He was talking on the phone, presumably with his brother. Once finished, he placed the phone on the cabinet next to the bed, grimacing at the sudden movement.
It was at that moment that the doctor entered the room looking at him quite annoyed.
- Hey, didn't he say absolute rest? - he asked
- Yes, but I have to help my brother - Will replied painfully.
- If you don't take care of yourself you won't be of any help to him. - Connor replied
From there the doctor began numerous prayers to urge his colleague to replace the drain with a one-way valve saying that as soon as he got home he would rest.
The doctor disagreed at all, but in the end, exasperated, he agreed to make the switch.
Natalie had helped Will by saying she would take care of him when he got home.
After the little surgery to remove the drain and set the valve, Halstead lay on the couch for a while longer until he felt ready to leave.
Meanwhile, while Connor was operating Will, Ethan who had finished his shift headed for the parking lot.
Behind a car Doctor Choi had noticed a shoe and when he approached he noticed the young man lying motionless on the ground.
At first glance he had a blow to the heart, it was the brother of his friend and colleague Will. He looked dead. He was there, motionless, with his eyes open.
The doctor, however, did not remain with his hands in his hands, he approached and began to evaluate the vital functions: heartbeat and breathing.
His heart was working perfectly, Ethan placed two fingers on the carotid artery and realized that the heartbeat was strong enough, slow but present.
The diaphragm continued to do its job by rising and falling, also very slowly, but this happened without problems. He realized that the young man had only passed out.
