The next afternoon was there and so the appointment with the pastry chef. Chris and Street had driven with her truck and had just parked. Together they walked into the pastry shop.
"Hi. You must be Mrs. Alonso and Mr. Street. My name is Jacob Kellerman, nice to meet you." He extended his hand to both of them and they greeted each other. "So, tell me about how the wedding is going to be, I just need some details." Chris took the floor.

"The wedding ceremony and also the celebration will take place on the beach. The wedding couple are avid surfers and love the water. It will be a casual ceremony, all guests who want to will be barefoot. The decor will be royal blue, light beige and white. Everything should be very light and look." Chris looked briefly at Street.
"We would have liked to pick up the colors in the cake and of course the beach and ocean should be recognizable. One or two little things that are playful are welcome." Street added, "From a flavor standpoint, we envision a hint of pineapple, mango and passion fruit. You're also welcome to add your own fruit which would be a good fit. The cream should also be very light with a little curd." Mr. Kellerman noted everything down and realized that the selection of the two was already quite good.

Street looked back and forth between the pastry chef and Chris and frowned.
"So aren't there always marzipan figures on the top of these cakes that represent the bride and groom? Something like that can't be missing. Preferably something like the groom carrying the bride in his arms." Street looked at Chris, who just rolled her eyes. "Come on Street. How tacky? I'm sure Bonnie and Tan wouldn't want that."
"Oh and how would you know uh?" he put his hands on his hips.
"Because neither of them are into kitsch." she said with a raised eyebrow.
"Kitsch then yeah? I don't think it's tacky at all, it's part of a wedding cake! You don't like any of my ideas right? Everything must go according to your head Chris. As always." he added the last sentence in a whisper.
"I heard that!" now Chris had her arms crossed. "Not everything has to go according to my head, but if you just don't bring a viable idea, what am I supposed to do? You and your romantic streak, all well and good, but those marzipan figures are not going on the cake. Period!" Chris looked at Street with narrowed eyes. Street just raised his hands placatingly.

Mr. Kellerman looked helplessly back and forth between the two.
"Um excuse me, may I interrupt you for a moment? I have quite a nice idea of what could go on the top of the cake instead of the figurines." now he had the attention of Chris and Street. Both looked at him expectantly.
"Well, now I'm curious," came from Street.

He went into his cubbyhole for a moment and came back with two small white wooden chairs with Mr. and Mrs. standing on them and a drink on the back of each. Chris and Street instantly had smiles on their faces and the scowls were over.
"Oh those are nice, just what I had in mind!" came Chris enthusiastically. Street was also very taken with the chairs.
"Well, I can live with that and maybe, just maybe you were right about the kitsch," he said meekly. Chris patted him on the shoulder.

The appointment was a complete success, even if there had been some minor disputes. Mr. Kellerman promised to get back to Chris in three days at the latest to set up a tasting date.

The days passed and Street had actually managed to pick up the menu and place cards in time. These were also in white, light beige and royal blue. That Wednesday evening, Tan was still going to come over, the most important task was ahead of Street: he was supposed to store his buddy's wedding rings until the wedding...
"So, here are the good pieces. Take good care of them for me." Tan looked at his friend with a serious look.
"Hey take it easy. Which one of us had lost the engagement ring for his future wife? Not me." Street grinned.
"Ey so you can't compare that. I got shot at, that was an exceptional situation." Tan returned with a laugh. The rings were silver. Tan's ring was plain and a little wider. Bonnie's ring had a small diamond in the center, it was set into the silver. Both had an engraving on the inside, the name of each partner and the wedding date.

Today was the day of days and Bonnie and Chris went wedding dress shopping. Unfortunately Bonnie's mom couldn't be there, she just lived too far away. But her aunt Kate and her cousin Sunny were there.
"I'm so excited girls I have ice cold hands." Chris took Bonnie's hand in hers,
It's all good. We'll find your dream dress and Tan will almost fall over when he sees you." she grinned. Bonnie, Kate and Sunny had to laugh and they all took another deep breath before walking into the bridal store.

"Hi Bonnie, we spoke on the phone before," came from the nice saleswoman Abby.
"Hi Abby, it's finally here. I brought my aunt Kate, cousin Sunny and my maid of honor Chris." Everyone greeted each other and headed to the seating.
"So Bonnie, how did you envision your dress?"
"I'm actually pretty open. It should be nice and flowy, no tulle please. It's a beach wedding and I'll be barefoot. Lace is welcome in the top, but no glitter." Abby had it all written down and the others listened intently.
"I already have two or three dresses in mind that you would love Bonnie. Come on let's go I'll show them to you. You three are welcome to wait here and help yourselves to the nibbles." Abby and Bonnie set off and quickly found three dresses that Bonnie immediately fell in love with.

However, the first dress was quickly eliminated. Everyone agreed that it was not Bonnie's dress. The second dress was better, especially Aunt Kate liked it very much, but Abby had shown Bonnie some places that were not advantageous. Now everyone was hoping for the third dress. When the curtain of the dressing room opened, all the attendants made big eyes. Aunt Kate had tears in her eyes, Sunny was beaming and Chris was speechless. No one said a word until Bonnie had seen herself.
"Oh wow." came from her. That was all she could say at the first moment. She looked at herself in the mirror and kept running her fingers along the top of the dress. The dress had a lace embroidered top, it looked like her upper body was covered in flowers. The shoulders were bare and the neckline was nice but not too deep. The skirt was made of chiffon and had a slit on the left leg that went to above mid-thigh. the transition from the top to the skirt was supported by a thin satin ribbon.
"Bonnie you look great." said Chris. Aunt Kate still couldn't say anything, she just cried. Sunny had gotten up and hugged her cousin who was now crying too. '
"You look adorable my sweet." she gave Bonnie a kiss on the cheek.
"I think this is my dress. I don't even have to think much." the bride sniffled. Everyone applauded and Chris had tears in his eyes now too. Bonnie decided against a traditional veil and for a great flower wreath. This had, in keeping with the theme, royal blue flowers worked into it.

Highly satisfied and happy, the four ladies left the store and Bonnie invited everyone to dinner to celebrate the day.
